Charles Case IS that rare professional. His work is like the perfect frame around that piece of art that speaks to you. He is as passionate about his work and getting it right, as his customer is about the event. What I found truly sets Charles and his team apart from the masses, is how much fun, joy and spirit he adds to the process. As mother-of-the-bride, I certainly had moments of fits and starts - none of them though about our flowers. Writing this review is as easy as our experience working with the Flower Basket. Also, if you're looking for someone to oversee your day and/or help with you with the planning, hire Charles. He not only gets it; he gets it right! For the more detailed folk: He and my family go back – to my Mother’s wedding in the ‘80s and she and my grandmother “took a risk on a new guy” and may have been his first wedding client! Growing up, my grandmother and I would stop by his little shop on most holidays for Charles to fill three little Venetian glass vases my grandmother pestered him for. When I got engaged, I mentioned that there was no other florist I would want to work with other than Charles. My Mom let out a little laugh and went, “He has gotten a little more popular since my wedding kiddo, I don’t think that he is in our price range”. So I went along, got other quotes, but still didn’t feel right. My mom picked up on this and on a whim made an appointment with Charles, all our info in tow, and crossed our fingers for a floral miracle. And boy did we get it! Putting together our own reception at a family friend’s home, Charles got me, got us, just GOT our day. So much of our wedding was working with people we know and love and the second we walked into the Flower Basket I knew I was in the MOST capable of hands. Planning was an absolute breeze, and I was more than comfortable giving him free reign to execute my ideas. Charles treated my ideas and wedding like I was one of his own family members and he told me time and time again, I totally understand what you are going for, I will make this beautiful. He WILL listen to your “vision”, he WILL make your budget work, he WILL offer to help you with day of services if you don’t have a wedding planner! He WILL even last minute agree to make the most stunning centerpieces for your rehearsal dinner with a day notice when the bride is on the verge of tears! I personally feel as if Charles may have deleted the words “no” and “I don’t think I can do that” from his vocabulary- If something is important to you- Charles will find a way! His day of set-up is meticulous. I did not think for one moment that I needed to check on the set up in our tent- As long as Charles was there, it was going to be beautiful. As soon as I got to the house, he gave all of the girls our flowers after doing a final check on each bouquet and I swear I began to feel as if Charles had been living in my head. I have to be honest, besides run of the mill flower names, I know nothing about flowers, but those bouquets were THE MOST STUNNING assemblage of “French Country Chic” I could have ever asked for. The flowers and table runners of greenery in the tent were just stunning and I was shocked how truly magical he helped make the reception look. I even noticed the centerpieces from the rehearsal made it to reception and not only were looking fresh as ever, but fit seamlessly into the other floral items we were working with. He even filled up my grandmother's Venetian vases as a gift for my mom to have in the house the wedding weekend- talk about thoughtful! Every bride hopes their wedding will be a magical day where they look nothing short of stunningly perfect. Charles certainly packs some fairy dust of magic with him to make sure your venue will be just as stunning as you!

Charles assisted the wedding party with all the details that make for perfect photos with elegant ways to walk down the aisle and hold bouquets. He transformed the wedding into pure grandeur. He was instrumental in making this special day one of charm and polish. We were exalted by his distinct skill and splendid results.

It involved setting up a cocktail hour and nibbles at the beach followed by cooking and serving dinner and drinks to 100 people, coordinating with the band, caterer, bar staff, tent vendor, generators, portajohn suppliers, flowers, tables, etc. all the way down to the flowers and table clothes. There were all, in a word, elegant. Many wedding guests complimented us about the "lush," "gorgeous," "beautiful" flowers. Charles' attention to detail, impeccable taste and respect for his client's wishes, as well as his expertise as a floral designer, made us grateful that he was available for this wedding.

Charles made this a reality. His impeccable taste and attention to details is extraordinary. Charles suggested he assume the role of coordinator on the wedding day. I never would have considered this before our conversation and now will be forever grateful for what he did. The day ran smoothly and successfully and I was able to spend time with guests and truly enjoy the celebration. In addition, Charles accomplished all of this within our budget. It was a joy working with Charles and I hope we will continue to plan special events together for many more years.

Having chosen the winter season and a lodge setting in East Providence, we all wished ourselves luck for good weather. We had it. The only weekend in February of '15 that it didn't snow! And yet the mounds of snow became a truly enchanting backdrop for both the wedding ceremony and the reception .Charles and his crew organized every detail from start to finish, highlighting the special details the couple wanted. The photographer and Charles worked closely and well together capturing all the special touches from Catherine meeting her father at the bottom of the staircase (Charles's idea) to glimpses of the flowers held by the bridesmaids in the light of the setting sun, streaming through the windows on the joyful couple. Through his expert eye he matched and threaded the colors of Allan's bowtie and boutonniere with Catherine's plaid shawl to those on the entrance table with seating cards nestled on a table top of flowers and moss, and, again to the colors and textures of the flowers in the stunning centerpieces. He created a memorable scene for us all. Charles decorated a rather large and rustic room with these same special touches having the large stone fireplace roaring and crackling and warming all our guests. On the mantel were boughs of pine and fir creating a delicious scent fitting for the room. Catherine's Crew Team gave a rousing rendition of well wishes to the couple and the room sparkled with lights lit on the rafters. It would not have been possible without Charles and his crew who made everything go smoothly so that we could enjoy ourselves and have the time of our family's life!

d. Charles really pays attention to close detail and made sure to be available for us to meet with him whenever we needed. On the wedding day, Charles and his assistant were our day-of coordinators and it was very refreshing to know we were in good hands. The bouquets and boutonniere's were ready for us when we took pictures and then Charles and his assistant were there to take the flowers and transport them back to the reception. No job was too much or too little for him and his team, so if candles needed to be lit or our party favors needed to get put, he was there. Charles also surprised us and coordinated a candy tray toward the end of the night! The day was very magical and I love looking back at our photos and seeing our beautiful flowers/bouquets.

is an incredibly gifted floral designer using giant stems of forsythia (from my garden) artistically arranged on the serving table and lovely, full arrangements of hydrangeas, tulips, roses, etc on the tables set for the guests. The backdrop of his arrangements was a superb setting for this occasion. I would not consider any other designer for my daughters' weddings and hopefully these are not far on the horizon so that I can once again have the pleasure of consulting with Charles.

e dropped off at the museums front courtyard and directed down a lime walk to the French alle'e.They were greeted half way by staff members offering cold refreshments. Our guest were then escorted into the Italianate walled garden, where the wedding ceremony took place. Charles, our wedding planner, suggested that we arrange the guest seating differently then previously done. Chairs lined the inside walls of the garden, to insure that all had an intimate view. Also, he suggested that the ceremony and exchange of vows be redirected to four large stone columns taking advantage of the sun setting over the Berkshire hills An hour long cocktail party, following the ceremony, was held in the museums French garden. Charles suggested that we use black and white toile table linens, in keeping with the French theme. Following this, a plated dinner was served inside the museum. Guest were escorted into one of the three distinctly different rooms. Charles thought that each room should be treated differently according to the color of the room and architectural details. He also felt that lighting was important. We found beautiful floral sheer overlay table Iinens that complimented each rooms color and also worked well with the centerpieces. Charles,a floral designer and event planner, thought it important to design centerpieces that used flowers from the outside gardens and bring them into the room setting. He spoke with The Mounts gardener to find out what was in bloom at the time and then designed lush centerpieces that looked like they were hand picked from the gardens. He also wanted the vessels to be different, so he used Victorian wired baskets in the coral dining room, gold cubes ran down a long table in the pale yellow gallery and silver vases in the blue drawing room. Unable to use real candles we were forced to use battery ones, but were able to find chunky waxed covered ones that added to the ambiance of the evening. We were thrilled to work with such a professional who paid attention to the historic integrity of the museum. Edith Wharton would have approved!!!

In 2011 he decorated and served a dinner party for 12 in my home. In May 2012 he again did everything for my 70th for 36. This time it was in the living room and dining room of my home, which is a 1774 barn. His use of farm house tables allowed us to seat 12 at each table with two guests on each end. It was brilliant. Again, the service was flawless, professional and personable. The flowers again were perfection, and his table settings beautiful. I will look no further for my next event than Charles Case. His attention to detail and his execution have been flawless.
