I was excited to get my hair and makeup done for my wedding and was pleased with how prompt she was in responding to my messages about booking her for my wedding. I paid her a down payment, and after that, it was impossible to get a hold of her. A couple of months later, I messaged her about scheduling a trial run for my hair. It took a month to hear back from her and she finally was able to schedule a trial with me the week of my wedding. The night before my appointment, I got an email from her that she needed to cancel because of her son. I understand family issues, but it really irritated me that it even took her that long to message me back, and then she cancelled. I couldn't schedule another time that week, but I figured things would be fine. On my wedding day, I showed her pictures of what I wanted and specifically stated that I wanted NATURAL makeup. It all started out fine until she put so much makeup on my face that it covered my freckles, and it almost made me look pale. She put a ton of eyeliner under my eyes making me look like a raccoon. Totally not natural. I figured maybe she could fix the makeup, but she had to finish my hair first. I asked for a messy bun which isn't too complicated. She literally teased my hair into a beehive and it was nothing like the picture I showed her. She just kept fluffing it out and spraying it with hairspray. When she was done and let me look at the back, I started to panic. She basically just pinned my hair flat to the back of my head with pieces sticking out. It looked like a five year old played with my hair. I told her a messy bun, but there really is an art to the perfect messy bun. I didn't even have a bun in my hair. I looked like the Bride of Frankestein with my huge hair (she didn't even brush all of the dry shampoo out if it) and caked on, drag queen makeup. I had about an hour and a half until the ceremony and I completely lost it and basically started to have a panic attack and told her this wasn't me or what I wanted. She just sort of murmured, "oh, we can fix it," but at that point, I didn't want her to touch me. I took off the face makeup and eyeliner under my eyes (the eyeshadow and lashes were the only decent thing) and had my sister unpin my sloppy hair and brush out the nest she made. I put on my normal face makeup and it looked so much better. I ended up just curling my own hair and I looked amazing! I guess I should've just done my own hair and makeup in the first place, but I wanted to have one less thing to worry about that day. Thanks to my bridesmaids, my look was saved. What really boils my blood is the fact that all she cared about was me leaving her a bad review. She kept saying to my bridesmaids, mom and MIL how she didn't want me to leave a bad review, and even had her little sidekick assistant talk to my bridesman about me not leaving a bad review. Also, she did my sister's hair and told her assistant how much she hates doing hair WHILE she was doing her hair! She didn't even make it how my sister wanted and my sister had to fix her hair as well. Only one of my bridesmaids liked her hair and makeup. I guess some people like the caked on, drag queen look, but it wasn't for me. They collected their stuff and left without a word. I maybe would've left two or three stars, but the fact that she didn't really give a s*** and only cared about her reviews brought her down to a one star. Good luck if you book her.
