An absolutely top-tier wedding venue and experience. Our guests are still talking about how breathtaking the day was, and I know they will for years to come. I couldn’t recommend t...

If you’re even thinking about booking Chateau de Lis—do it. It’s hands-down the most breathtaking venue we visited, and somehow, it keeps getting more beautiful every time we come ...
back.
From the very first tour, Chauncy has been nothing short of incredible. Her communication is top-tier—clear, timely, and always thoughtful. She truly cares about her clients and goes out of her way to make your wedding feel like your vision. She’s been flexible, supportive, and consistently kind through every twist and turn of the planning process. There were so many times I had questions or needed reassurance, and she was always there with answers and genuine warmth. Planning a wedding can be overwhelming, but working with Chauncy has made this experience a dream.
And the venue itself is jaw-droppingly beautiful. Every detail of the space is so intentional—from the limestone to the water features to the perfectly manicured grounds—it all elevates the experience from gorgeous to truly unforgettable. We feel incredibly blessed to have found this place!
10/10 recommend to any couple who wants a fairytale backdrop with venue owners who truly care. Chateau de Lis will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
We rented the chateau for the day before the wedding so we could start setting up and do rehearsal dinner, as well as stay the night before the wedding day. When we arrived at chec...
k in, the owner was there cleaning I presume, there were other people there working/fixing/moving things in the chateau, children were running around and getting upset that we were setting up for the wedding in places they wanted to play. They didn't let us know their whole family would still be running around the chateau on the day of our set up/rehearsal dinner.
We paid to use the chateau as an Airbnb, and we received confirmation a week prior from the owner stating that she was cleaning and it would be ready for us. The kitchen, the downstairs bar, and the pool area were still dirty when we got there. My family helped clean most of it, and we had to pause on decorating the pool area because the owners still wanted to pressure wash it. It seems as though the owners simply weren't ready for us to be there. On top of all this, we were notified 2 weeks before our stay that the owner had double booked the chateau, so during my rehearsal dinner there was a bride, groom, and a photographer going around taking pictures...
There were multiple light fixtures that didn't work, outlets that didn't work, light bulbs in lamps missing, and the room we stayed in was freezing. Also, we thought we'd get to use the pool the night before the wedding, but we weren't allowed. They use false advertising on the chateau Instagram with couples in the pool, and couples using sparklers, but we were told we couldn't do those things.
We wouldn't have had our wedding there if the owner was posting on their business page like they are now. I wanted to tag the venue on social media after the wedding was over, and I found a bunch of political posts of RFK Jr. My now husband and I do not agree with the rhetorical violence from that man, and we do not want to support those who want autocracy over democracy.
My mom kindly messaged the owner and asked if it was a mistake that she shared these political views on her business page. She said, "Thanks for the heads up. My political views are what they are, as are my religious ones. If they have shown up on my business page, that may have been an oversight, but I'm not trying to hide. Thank you for letting me know. It's an age for great intolerance and division, and I'm sure my business will be affected, but survive."
Regardless of which side you are on politically, doing this on a business page is just going to alienate potential customers and, unfortunately, make your last customer regret choosing your venue. I guess they'll survive off right wingers from now on since "its an age for great intolerance and division" because they are creating it.
To the owner... instead of wading into political debates, focus on the core values that all people can rally behind. Things like quality, integrity, sustainability, or community service are universal values that people from all walks of life can appreciate. By highlighting these positive aspects, you can create a deeper connection with your audience without the risk of alienating anyone. Unless you want to be the one causing division.
Anyway, our wedding was absolutely gorgeous using this venue. I'll give credit where it's due. My mom did most of the work to make sure it was perfect, and I know it would've been just as magical at another venue that doesn't want to alienate customers.
Chateau De Lis is a wonderful and unique gem. It brings back memories of wandering around castles in Germany and Switzerland. Somehow it feels both grand and comfortable. Chauncey...

ies, but the staff is easy to work with and welcoming. We enjoyed the themed rooms, the European furnishing full of history and stories that the owners were happy to share. Unique murals, an olympic sized pool, hot tub, and space for both small and large groups. This venue created an ambiance that we will never forget
My wife and I were so fortunate to be able to have our wedding reception here. The venue is exceptional in design and craftsmanship, and the grounds are expansive and ornate - we...
saved money by eliminating flowers because the gardens offered everything we needed. Chauncey was the consummate hostess: very kind, helpful, and engaging. Even with well over 200 guests there was ample space and appropriate accommodations for anyone wanting sun, shade, or a quiet reprieve - and plenty of places for kids to run around. I absolutely recommend including this venue in your event plans!
Very easy to work with and there are so many options of what you can do. For us it was still cold so we did our wedding reception inside and it had plenty of room for everyone. Sin...
