We toured Chateau La Mer back in 12/2022. My fiance and I at that time fell in love with the venue and the gorgeous scenery and environment that it provided. We knew right away that this is where we wanted to host our wedding reception. We toured with Taylor, who made the touring process so simple and easy. And when it came down to the packages that they offered, we were amazed at the affordability! Great prices, great food, great views, great venue overall. They worked with us to make our vision happen and we had no hiccups in the process. Super smooth planning for my now wife and I. We had our reception there on Sunday, 7/30/23. The weather was perfect and the boat arrival and looking at our guests as we arrived was truly spectacular. Nina was our Maitre D' for the event. She was super friendly and easy to work with. She managed our guests and our itinerary very well the day of. And Dinorah our bridal attendant was a huge help to my wife and bridal party. She went out of her way to provide comfortable slippers to wear throughout the event, helped with EVERYTHING my wife needed, most importantly, holding her dress when walking. The whole team at Chateau was truly amazing. The venue was clean, my guests raved about the food, especially the Memphis BBQ station (highly recommend). Thank you Chateau for a beautiful and stressless event.
It was a pleasure working with Chateau La Mer for our wedding reception event and we are very glad we chose Chateau as our venue. Our guests truly enjoyed the view and atmosphere at the venue. Thank you guys again.
My wife and I had our wedding at Chateau La Mer. We had an amazing experience. The venue was beautiful, the food was phenomenal, and the boat ride was an unforgettable experience. Our bridal attendant Sandra was attentive, friendly, and on top of everything. The only thing that we feel like could have been done better was with our maitre'd. She was not that attentive and it was incredible difficult to find her throughout the night. Every time we did see her she was on her phone and a lot of guests had mentioned to us that every time they saw her she was on her phone and not very helpful. Otherwise everything else was perfect. The rest of the staff were friendly and attentive. My wife, myself, and our guests had a fantastic time.
The venue was amazing the food was great
Customer service at the end of tge night was not great. We ended up paying for 15 extra people and the staff took the food home instead of us getting it. The wait staff was rude
Any questions?
We had my daughter sweet sixteen birthday here, and the food services was espectacular, the view of the bay, is marvelous
Chateau La Mer offers everything you need to have your wedding. They have relationships with photographers, flower vendors and DJs so you can do all your planning at once. Great grounds and space.
Chateau La Mer made the planning of our wedding seamless with the numerous packages that they offer. Taylor was patient with is and explained everything in detail. They were able to help us pick our photographer and catering based on the packages that were offered. We had our own DJ, so they were also able to issue us a credit towards our final price as well. The grounds and the grand ballroom are classic and modern.
Taylor has been amazing - wedding planning has been so easy with her. Venue itself is beautiful - so excited for my big day! ❤️
I was a recent guest for a small wedding of about 130-140 8/28. The ceremony was to start at 4:30p outside on the dock, but didn't start until 4:45p. It was also quite humid at low tide...so imagine the smell. We weren't sure if it was the actual party or the venue's tardiness that led to the ceremony being late, but it took about 10 min to get through it in total... Once they were finished, we were ushered inside for cocktail hour. The room felt small and cramped with low ceilings. The couple had added the seafood bar for cocktail hour- but there were not enough lobsters for everyone, and not even a claw cracker? We had asked for one as the shells were very hard to crack with fork, teeth, sheer strength, etc.- but the staff refused to give it to us. Guests were ripping the claws right off of the empty tail shells at the bar as they picked their lobsters out. When we went up to the reception- that's where their service truly started to show. The bar in the cocktail hour room was small, but the bar upstairs was even smaller. It looked so cramped for the bartenders to work between each other by the restrooms around the corner. The restrooms were so humid, and only 1 stall worked out of the 3 upstairs. Women had to travel back downstairs to use the restroom just to be comfortable. When entrees were being selected, a family member of ours asked for her filet mignon to be cooked rare. She even wrote it down on their check as they took our table order. By the time entrees came- my salmon was very dry, another guest had cold chicken cordon bleu and had to send it back, and my family had very well done filet. We had told the staff she ordered it rare, but they got so frustrated, that they waved us off and ignored us to continue serving the rest of the tables. That was quite upsetting to experience as a guest. They even ended up dropping some meals they were about to serve! I'm not sure why the service was horrendous yesterday night, but there were 3 events happening simultaneously, including ours. The venue seemed to have been severely understaffed and unequipped to handle this particular event. If the staff had no problem waving a guest off, imagine how they would treat their bride and groom!
The venue was awesome and the staff was so attentive to every little detail. What a wonderful time.
The venue was fabulous and the food was excellent. Thank you to the staff for going above and beyond in meeting the needs of all the guests!
The venue was beautiful and the food as well as the staff was excellent. I had an awesome time.
The venue is beautiful
Chateau La Mer went way above and beyond my expectations in every way - from the food, to the views and the friendly and professional staff!!
The views were amazing. And the food was excellent.
Chateau La Mer is a beautiful place for a celebration. The grounds are beautiful and the view from the dining area is spectacular. The food is delicious and the staff delivers unsurpassable service.
This place was so elegant and classy. The Staff and the food was awesome
We had a wonderful time and the staff was wonderful as well,
Chateau la Mer gave us a beautiful ceremony! The staff was kind and accommodating and showed such patience and service to all our guests. It was a night to remember from start to finish!
I have been meaning to write this review for some time now and I so glad that I'm finally getting around to it. I attended a friend's wedding a few months back and was a bit cautious about going because the rise in covid-19 numbers. Af best I figured I would show my face and leave. To my surprise I ending up staying the whole night. Everything was amazing from the food, to the wonderful staff, to the entire venue. The staff was extremely friendly and so polite. They made everyone feel comfortable and right at home. Their covid policies gave me an overwhelming feeling of relief and I am sure everyone felt safe. Most importantly my friends had the wedding of thier dreams. I'm so greatful to Chateau La Mer for treating us with such class and respect. And for making sure we all had the time of our lives. I can't say enough about just how grateful I am.
My husband and I had our wedding ceremony and reception at Chateau La Mer and they were wonderful! The venue is beautiful and was a huge selling point since I wanted a waterfront ceremony (thankfully the weather was gorgeous that day, the sun really came out and made our special day perfect!) Lou was there last year and explain everything to us because of the potential scares of COVID, everything was up in the air. Thankfully, Taylor also worked with us to have less people per table so my guests had more space. According to my parents and husband the food tasting went great! I got to sample it first hand the day of and the Ginger Salmon, Calamari, Sausage and peppers, Sirloin was delicious!!! All the staff especially Taylor (whom was banquet manager by day and Maitre 'D by night) Nina and my bridal attendant Kaleena were so nice, attentive and helped us so much. They made our stressful big day loads better by using effective communication and always being there to listen to my requests and questions, they were literally my eyes and ears. This was really important since we had the yacht arrival and need everything to go smoothly. If you're looking for a great venue with amazing views and awesome staff, I would recommend checking out Chateau La Mer!
My daughter had her wedding this past Saturday, and it was fabulous. We were so worried with the rules and regulations but they did a great job to make sure we had a safe and had a great party. The food was great, everything went smoothly even when the quick testing they offered for people who did not get vaccinated. Thank you Thank you for a very close to normal wedding! I love chateau la mer
Had my wedding at Chateau & Sterling, great experience even with Covid. The team was great and helpful we had 45 guests at each location and they made everyone feel welcome and safe. Staff is professional and courteous. Highly recommend Taylor & Pooja.
We had our wedding at the Chateau La Mer last June. The food, staff, bridal attendant , and maitre d' were wonderful. They allowed us to fill our room with beautiful candles, and paid close attention to all of our small details which made our large wedding feel very special and intimate.
I booked my wedding at Chateau La Mer in October! I fell in love with the venue right away that I cancelled all my following appointments that day. It is truly beautiful! I met with Lou who was very nice and extremely helpful. There was a small miscommunication along the way. The manager Ron went above and beyond to ensure that I understood and was completely satisfied with the situation. I would highly recommend Chateau La Mer 100% for a wedding venue!

Worst wedding ever! Wouldn't even give it one star. How do you seat people a for a wedding at 8:30 PM, and then do not serve them dinner till 11:30. Then rush the cake for midnight because you have to be out by 12:30. What we had for food at the cocktail party sucked, along with the 10 pieces of penny ala vodka that was served before the dinner we never had because we were starving and left. If I were you I'd go somewhere else
While the venue is beautiful, the service is horrendous. The staff is particularly rude when it comes to answering questions. There are so many hidden fees and charges that they did not disclose to us prior to signing the contract. Ron was incredibly rude on the phone and would always defer our questions to other members of his team even when he could easily answer or help us. Stay away from this staff and place- particularly Ron
Chateau La Mer checked off all of our boxes. They were not far from the Church, they were one of the most affordable quotes we received, they catered, and most importantly, they were super accommodating with all of our eco-friendly efforts, including composting all of the food waste with a third party! Lou Young helped us from the start, but as he was out with an injury closer to our wedding, Bill Kennedy stepped in - both were great to work with!
Our reception was held in the Bayview room upstairs and we had both bridal suites to ourselves. I do wish the bridal suite had a private bathroom, but luckily I managed to only need to pee once (with the help of my Bridal Buddy and three bridesmaids!)
Our guests have been raving about the amazing cocktail hour and delicious dinner! Our staff was fantastic! Our Maitre D Alexandra made sure everything ran smoothly, and my Bridal Attendant, Katherine, was a trooper who was there bustling my dress even after (I later learned) she suffered a minor head injury halfway through the event! Our bartender, Gerry, was amazing and also very supportive of our efforts to use compostable paper straws and wooden stirrers for the drinks!
While I was extremely pleased that Chateau La Mer accommodated our personal composting efforts for our event, I do think that in general they (and most other venues) could do a much better job in handling food waste, by both preventing it and composting it. I cannot comment on the cocktail hour because I was too busy with family photos, but I was especially disappointed with the way in which they serve the bride and groom dinner. I wish they did not serve us all of our meal options on one platter the way that they did, and would have instead taken our orders just like anyone else because the vast majority of food on that platter went to waste. Everyone knows that the bride and groom do not generally eat much at weddings, so putting that much food in front of them seems irresponsible (I literally ate one piece of chicken and a croquette).
I also wish any edible leftover food could have been donated to those in need, but unfortunately the venue has a policy against doing this. I feel that it is up to all restaurants and caterers to take responsibility for their impact, and tackling the issue of food waste in such an establishment can have such a positive effect on a social and environmental level.
However, overall, Chateau La Mer was the perfect venue for us on Long Island!
My husband and I just got married here on 7/5/19 and it was the best day of our lives! The food, the staff, the ambiance, everything was beyond perfect and I could not have imagined a better experience. My guests are still raving about my wedding and it’s all thanks to Chateau La Mer. A big shout out to my bridal attendant, Katherine, who was so attentive and there for my every need. She seriously was my best friend that entire night. All the other staff was very organized and polite, I have no complaints! Thank you, Chateau, for an unforgettable experience. If I had to do it all over, I would choose Chateau over and over again!
Would not recommend at all. Went to a wedding in oct 2018 horrible service, long lines at the bar. Waiter dropped food on my husband and never apologized or offered to help him clean it up. Food is tasteless. Went to another event this April and again horrible service and horrible food. Would not recommend
Bill, our wedding planner was awesome and worked with us to have an amazing day and gorgeous wedding. The chateau was beautiful and we had an amazing wedding in November with an outside ceremony. We did not have anyone helping us and were able to finance it ourselves. We thanked the Chateau and all of the lovely staff. #batjoker11418

Chatesu La Mer is a beautiful place right on the water with spectacular views. I personally didnt eat being the mother of the bride, but from what I heard the food and service was very good.....and according to my daughter, the bridal attendants were amazing!!! She couldnt say enough how nice the were and attended to her every need.
There was only one thing that disturbed me....this place does NOT have an elevator to the second floor. Not too bad for guests, because they had a chair lift if needed.... but if someone had a wheelchair.... that would have been a disaster. At the moment of booking the place, because if its beauty and the happiness you're feeling, I did NOT realize what an INCONVENIENCE in was for any OUTSIDE VENDORS to go up those scary stairs in the back of the building to bring up any gear (DJ... photobooth) etc. I saw pictures of the long stairs and it was VERY UNSAFE with gigantic holes and caution cones all over it which was not good for such expensive electronics. The funny thing is that Chateau DEMANDED insurance from the Oustide Vendors to come in .... but DAMN..... The Vendors should have DEMANDED them for insurance under such HORRIBLE conditions!!!! I felt really bad that I was NOT aware of the way it looked beforehand. Chateau should take care of this matter ASAP....someone could get really hurt!!!! Fix those ELEVATORS!!!!!!!

Chateau La Mer: 6/3/18
When we first saw the venue, we fell in love with the outside ceremony area and the reception room. We thought that it would be a gorgeous fairytale wedding, but in fact, the only good things about the venue were the decor and the food was pretty good, overall.
Let’s start from the beginning.....
The mater’d and the bridal attendant (I don’t even know their names due to the lack of attention we got from them) were horrendous. Shortly after we met them they disappeared and we constantly had to look for them. When we were taking family photos before the ceremony, outside guests had no direction from the venue staff where to go, so they came outside and saw the bride before the ceremony. The ceremony was scheduled to start at 6pm, but didn’t actually start until about 6:45pm, because according to the Mater’d, it took the staff a while to get all of the guests from the previous wedding upstairs to their reception room (which we were assured by the banquet manager-Bill, that something like that was not going to be an issue, because they have a system and know what they’re doing....apparently not). The groom had to ask servers during cocktail hour numerous times to replenish plates, because the plates had run out and the guests couldn’t continue to eat.
During the reception, the MC/DJ was told to have people seated for dinner courses by 9:30pm, which he did, even though the food didn’t come out until 5 minutes to 10pm. The MC/DJ with the bride and groom were very upset because for that 30 minutes everyone could have been dancing instead of waiting around for their food that would or wouldn’t be served....with or without steak knives. Bill, the banquet manager, afterwards, came to the bride and groom table during dinner, to complain and vent to us about the MC/DJ. He told us that he and his staff was running the show and not the MC/DJ or anyone else.....the MC/DJ had the microphone, he was entertaining the guests and essentially doing exactly what he was hired to do by the bride and groom...he was running the show at that point, and not the horrendous and inattentive servers, staff and banquet manager. It was terrible and unprofessional for the banquet manager to come to us on our wedding day to complain and argue. Back to the mater’d and bridal attendant, the bride needed help throughout the night with her bustle and no one was to be found; all I remember them doing is bringing 2 rounds of drinks to us...one of which was a shot of that cheap tequila.
The service and servers were beyond horrendous!!! Guests had to come up to the kitchen to ask for steak knives after repeatedly asking their servers who never brought them. When guests tried to order drinks from the servers, they were told to go to the bar—the servers were overall very dismissive, when they were actually around. We paid for premium liquor, and assured we were going to have premium liquor, yet the only tequila they were serving was “Pepe Lopez,” which they were passing off as patron (in what world is “Pepe Lopez” a premium tequila brand???)—when the groom went to the bar himself to order a shot of patron with several of the guests, and were served “Pepe Lopez” tequila (it was beyond embarrassing for the groom!) He was told that this was the only tequila that they carry, even though we were assured that we would have premium alcohol such as Grey Goose, Kettle One, Hennessy, Johnny Walker Black Label and Patron.
***If service and proper organization is important to you and your guests, you may want to consider a different venue.
I have not booked Chateau La Mer as of yet... but I just wanted to let brides know of the amazing experience I had meeting with Lou. If you are interested in this venue you must meet with him, he is the kindest and so honest and really wants you to get your money worth and to have a beautiful wedding without breaking the bank. They give you so many food options for cocktail such as chafing dishes, passed and carving stations. For dinner so many options as well.... plus the venue is absolutely beautiful and on the water. If you are looking for class and the most bang for your buck definitely go to the Chateau La Mer. Thank you Lou!!!!!
HORRIBLE! Had my engagement there and they could not have been more disrespectful to my entire family! The electricity kept going out! The staff was absolutely rushing us the entire time. They shut the AC off mid event. Not to mention my engagement was mid day in the August heat! I was unable to use the bridal suite as a result of no electricity! They ruined my special day for me! DO NOT TAKE A CHANCE with them and risk ur day!
The location and price of Chateau La Mer can’t be beat. We’re both beach people and are so happy to have chosen Chateau. Monika, our maitre’d and Laura, our bridal attendant really made sure our wedding ran seamlessly! From cocktail hour through the party our guests were thrilled with not only the atmosphere, but the food too! Everything was delicious and plenty of food and drink was in our bridal suite for our wedding party to enjoy during little break times too. Laura and Monika made sure we were happy from the moment we walked in, helping us out of our limo, to assisting us with photos, to greeting our guests and getting our drinks, they were fantastic!!!!! We have gotten nothing but compliments and it’s all due to the quality service of the Chateau team.
Had money stolen from the bridal suite they said the room would be locked and it never was they wouldn't let us look at the camera tapes to see who was in the room they could care less never called a manager when over 1000 dollars was stolen they never served cake or coffee pulled the fire alarm to make us leave very very unprofessional if you do have ur event here please leave your belongings home
I'd give one star if I could. Attended a wedding here over the weekend and was appalled at how staff members treated the wedding party. Not one ounce of professionalism. Bridal suite was supposed to be locked and we were to be given a code to use, it remained unlocked the entire event and over $1000 was stolen from people who had belongings in the bridal party. We have video of wait staff cursing at us and stating her name was b!tch. Cops were called and we could not reach managers or owners .... Absolutely the worst thing I have ever seen! Stay Far Far Away from this place! Horrible food! Bride and groom were able to cut the cake and then none of it was served. No coffee or tea served. Absolute disgrace! They should be ashamed of themselves!
I had my engagement party here a few weeks ago.
So the location is a knockout. Your pictures will be beautiful. Your venue will wow your guests. There's no question there at all.
I'm not one to take service into consideration but honestly, it wasn't my fave here. Two hours before our event started my designer called and said that the venue hadn't provided us with the correct number of tables. The venue manager then told us we were supposed to give them a floor plan, but we were told earlier we could just give it to our designer the day of. They ended up providing the tables we needed but it was super stressful.
The bridal attendant would like randomly disappear and would give us like any of the good food. She was nice though.
I would recommend if you're able to pick a venue that doesn't communicate often with you and if your stress tolerance is high. The venue is really gorgeous and I have no regrets. They just gave me a good scare before my event and I don't get stressed easily!
My guests had nothing bad to say. They were blown away by the venue.
I went to a food tasting at this venue last Friday night.
The food was the worst that I have ever eaten.
The venue itself was pretty, however, they need another catering service.
The staff and the venue was perfect! The cocktail hour was alittle chilly but it was also one of the coldest nights of the winter. All around loved it there!
I had my wedding there on Sept 3rd and although the guests loved the event, here is why I am providing a 1 star review:
1) The bridal suite was an empty room to get ready in and was NOT provided with any service from the managers or its employee (Appetizers, drinks, etc).
2) There were complaints from a few of the guests including family members that the bartender, John demanded tips to serve drinks. We PAID for TOP SHELF open bar and although we had spoken to the owner after the wedding, assured us that appropriate actions would be taken and he would call us back in 48 hrs, both my wife and I did NOT receive any calls from their management. Its been three weeks now.
3) My wife sent out emails to chateaulamercatering and still has NOT received a response regarding the issues we faced on our wedding day. This is not acceptable especially since our family did a total of three weddings with the Sterling group.
I had my wedding at Chateau La Mer in August 2016. It was the best night of my life. Chateau La Mer played a wonderful part of our night. I have so many great things to say about the venue! The view was beautiful. It was great for pictures. The boat entrance was incredible. Chateau did a great job at letting our guests know about the boat entrance. There were so many people outside to greet us even on a hot night. The boat was also a nice moment for my husband and I to have a few quiet minutes together. The cocktail hour was full of delicious food, and there was a ton of it! There was so much food we were already full before dinner. Then we went into the Atrium room. It was beautiful and set up exactly how I imagined it. The food at the reception was also great. We were full, but wanted to keep eating! Luckily we got a box to go. It was nice to have the next day! Laura was our bridal attendant and she was amazing. She was so kind, and took care of so many things for us. Our drinks were constantly full. Monica was the maître d, and she was also amazing. She made sure everything ran smoothly. We also worked with Lou as our banquet manager. He made sure we were taken care of and had everything we needed and asked for. I would highly recommend Chateau La Mer for a wedding or party. We had a great time, and everything worked out so well. We were happy and our guests seemed happy. We are so thankful for the memories!!
I'm pretty upset with Chateau La Mer for a number of reasons. I fell in love with Chateau la Mer and felt it was the perfect place for me. we were going to have our 225 person wedding at this venue on a Sunday. All along as I met with and spoke with Lou multiple times (and I have his paperwork to show this), we had been discussing a 6-11 pm wedding. I went in to sign the contract and he starts discussing my 7:30-12:30 wedding.... what? This was the first time my mom, dad or I had heard him ever utter those times, and trust me, I take extensive notes. This was absolutely a deal breaker because:
1. We wouldn't have been able to take our pictures on the patio like we wanted (and like he promised) because another cocktail hour would have been going on.
2. The venue is beautiful, especially the outside... it was the reason we were using that venue. It would have been pitch black for our boat arrival and the guests wouldn't be able to enjoy the outside patio for cocktail hour at the time of year we were going for.
3. Who on earth wants to start a wedding at 7:30 pm on a sunday?!?
I feel like I was deceived by them and I lost 3 weeks of looking for other venues as he prepared the contract. We met multiple times and I can absolutely distinctly remember him saying that we could start at 6, but there would be a day time wedding before ours, which we were fine with.
I am so sad that we're losing this venue, and I'm so sad that Lou and his team let me down.
I guess my advice would be to triple check every single thing he says and when signing the contract make sure every detail is right; Lou is nice, but he's mighty old and losing his memory, I think. We had to remind him of pretty big aspects of the wedding dozens of times. Anyway, I'm heartbroken but can't use this venue anymore and Lou took no responsibility for this mistake.
They catered to our specific requests, their food was DELICIOUS, service was excellent! Our maitre'd Monika and our bridal attendant Agnes were so sweet! Our banquet manager, Derek, was so fantastic and worked well with our requests and responded to all our questions. At the end of the night, all the items we dropped off were already packed and ready to be put in our cars!
The site was beautiful, everyone had wonderful things to say! We shopped around a little for a reception site that would fit the number of guests we had, while remaining intimate and had a lovely backdrop for a fair price. Chateau La Mer was the perfect fit!
We were informed there was a Sweet Sixteen happening upstairs at the same time as our wedding reception, but WE DIDN'T EVEN NOTICE!
We had a wonderful experience with planning and celebrating the day of! THANK YOU DEREK, MONIKA, and AGNES!
My husband and I had our wedding here on 6/18/16 and it was the best day of our lives!! From start to finish everything was PERFECT!!! people are still calling & texting us saying how amazing our wedding was! Even though I didn't get to eat much as I hoped to the food was spectacular! My guests ranted and raved about how delicious everything was. The spread during cocktail hour was insane! Everything was set up beautifully and the day flowed perfectly thanks to my banquet managers Lou & Derek, matre D Monika and my bridal attendent Agnes!!!! Monika and Agnes went above and beyond to make sure our day went as smooth as possible! Between bustling my dress, to making sure I had everything I needed, and even bringing me food and drinks when I needed it! They were truly amazing and so on top of everything! I would have to rate this place a Perfect 10!! Oh! And Coming in on a boat and making a grand entrance to our cocktail hour was absolutely amazing too!! Everyone thought it was so cool & the boat ride was nice and relaxing! Every time We think about our wedding there's a huge smile on our faces and we have Chateau la Mer to thank for it!!! If you are thinking about having your wedding here, go for it!! You will not regret it!!!! Thanks again to everyone at Chateau la Mer who made our day unforgettable!!!!
Overall, Chateau was a gorgeous venue! We took our wedding party pictures on the waterside dock. When it got completely dark the outside lit up gorgeously! Many of my guest took some swanky photos outside. The cocktail room looked great and the main room was spacious and gorgeous with beautiful floors, such an awe factor! The staff was friendly. We visited the place several times before our affair and they were extremely helpful and put us at ease. My centerpieces had many parts to it but the staff made the room look just how I wanted it! So many little details and they got it down. The food was amazing and many of my guest who are not from LI were in shock but the abundance and quality. My night was perfect from the food, room set up, and attentive staff. This place gives you the fairytale ending!
Small beans...my only issue with the venue is that management changed after we signed our contract before the date of the affair. We were worried about this change but the Chateau managers assured us not to. I specifically asked about the champagne toast and second entre servings...we were assured the service would not change. On our wedding day our guest did not get a champagne welcome (we did arrive a bit early so I can see if they were not ready) or the second servings. New management is trimming the fat for sure. Our contract and the word of the managers assured this...
We just had our daughter's wedding here and were happy to have chosen this magnificent place. The new owners have put a lot into updating with new up-lighting, large screen TV's-flooring and have significantly improved the bridal suites. The beauty & elegance of this place sells itself- and the reputation of excellent food held true. From the cocktail hour through dinner and the Viennese hour-we were constantly amazed that everything was presented so professionally and tasted so good. The attentiveness of the staff really kept the evening running smoothly and everything was perfect. The bridal attendant-Renee was so kind and made our daughter and son-in-law and the bridal party feel so special and well cared for. Of course-we can't forget to mention our dealing with the Banquet Manager-Derick-who made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. His attentiveness to every detail was right on target with what we had hoped for when we chose this place to have our daughter's wedding.
I have to say if I were to do my wedding again I would not change a thing! The services here were absolutely amazing. From planning to the day of my wedding, things were perfect and the service was on point. Derek and my hostess were always there to make sure I had everything I needed all night long. All the details were laid out and most importantly the food was amazing ! I enjoyed upgrading to the ballroom as the space accomodated all of my guest! Almost a month later and all of my guest are calling it the wedding of the year ! Can't thank everyone enough for all of their support !
Having our wedding at Chateau La Mer was probably one of the easiest choices that we had to make. We are incredibly happy that we chose to go with them. They are everything and more in terms of what we wanted from our wedding venue. We initially dealt with Lou who is absolutely a joy to deal with. He gave us the tour of the place and explained all the available options. Derik was also helpful and incredibly friendly. They are incredibly easy and flexible to deal with. Extremely communicative, not one phone call or email went unanswered. The venue is also a good value, you get a lot more for the money than you do at other places. Let's start with location.... it's gorgeous. The ceremony took place outside with the sunset in the background. We entered the cocktail hour by yacht. It felt like we were in a fairy tale. The Maitre'D and bridal attendant were incredibly helpful and attentive. Everything went off without a hitch, like clockwork. The food was amazing and consistent with what we tried at the tasting. Their fillet mignon is comparable to what you would have at a high end steakhouse. Drinks were consistently refilled and flowing. Waiters were incredibly professional and attentive. The venue is also equipped with a bridal sweet which is a convenient place to keep spare clothing or items that you no longer need in the dining room (i.e. Gifts, etc). Overall, could not ask for one thing to be different about Chateau. It was truly the best night of our lives.
My wedding was on 9/5/15, from the start we dealt with Lou on the planning of the wedding and he was AMAZING. The place is beautiful especially for our night wedding butttt the night was ruined when the boat arrival time came. my groom and I joined my sweet bridal attendant and photographer on the boat. As we were on our way back, our bridal attendant began calling Derrick the matadre and he wasn't responded. She continued to call him on her walkie to let him know we were about to arrive and tell the guests and still no answer. Needless to say we arrived and no one even knew. There was maybe 3 couples outside hanging out and they didn't even notice. HUGE disappointment. Derek really dropped the ball on this. It was the big WOW factor and now the past week I've had to explain why no one got to see us on the boat and cheer us in. I really wanted that magical moment. Instead we just rode in the boat for 2 minutes and got off. Afterwards when I spoke to Derek about it he blamed the bridal attendant saying she should of called his cell phone if it was such a problem. Than after lots of complaining they refunded me $200 and said to take my husband out to dinner and relax, which was a slap in my face. This was there wow factor the thing that makes them stand out from the rest and I didn't get it. The first day i looked at the place Lou immediately started talking about how we can arrive to cocktail hour on the boat where everyone will be cheering for us as they welcome us back. So fair warning even if they weather is nice you may still get cheated out of it.
I am getting married here in October and so far I am so happy with everything! Tino has been amazing and has gone above and beyond with all of my questions!! All of the remodeling being done looks amazing and i can not wait to celebrate my special day in just a few short months!!
The only reason this was not 5 stars was we did not receive help unloading our wedding supplies when we dropped them off.
The service was more than I could ask for. The food was amazing (although, I would not recommend the duck). The venue is beautiful, and you get a boat arrival.
Great venue!
Let me start by saying that originally I did not want to have my wedding at a banquet hall, nor did I want a big flashy day. However as my guest list got out of hand (thanks mom!) it became a more logical option. Chateau La Mer handles everything for you and really makes the process smooth and easy. Their prices are also a wonderful selling point, especially considering how much other halls with similar or lesser qualities charge. We worked with Lou and he was courteous, professional, and extremely helpful throughout the entire process. My only gripe is that communication with the hall via email is impossible. In today's day and age to not have the ability to communicate electronically is a flaw for me, especially since the employees there are often busy and difficult to reach by phone.
The food is spectacular. Every single guest was impressed with dinner and they all raved about the incredible cocktail hour layout. The added dessert stations were also very worth it. People are still talking to me about the giant apple pie that was both impressive in appearance and taste.
The atmosphere generated was incredible as well. The bartenders were fast and made excellent drinks. The attendants were very on top of things and helpful. Almost immediately after our grand entrance my bustle tore and the bridal attendant was immediately there with safety pins to save the day. Furthermore each table will have their own server and each one of them is professional and attentive.
My biggest issue with the hall occurred prior to our event. The bakery that they recommended (Campbell's in Brentwood) was a nightmare. When we went for our cake tasting it was dirty and their were bugs in our the sake samples they tried to feed us. When my now husband went to speak to the hall he encountered a number of issues from their GM Tom. While Lou tried to help us in every way, Tom was dismissive and rude and rather unprofessional. This all happened 3 weeks before our wedding and it left us with a cake that neither of us was happy with from the only bakery we could book at the last minute. While this did leave a bad taste in our mouth - we ended up having a magical day nonetheless.
I would definitely recommend Chateau La Mer, but try to avoid handlings with their GM and if they suggest using Campbell's bakery DON'T DO IT! You will be much better off budgeting for a different bakery and working with the banquet manager to perhaps make menu upgrades.
Chateau La Mer was a fantastic place to have our wedding reception!! The food was amazing, the staff was wonderful, and the view is breathtaking! All of our guests loved Chateau La Mer and raved about the food. Tino was an amazing Maitre'D. He took care of everything and we had little to worry about the whole day and he took care of any issues we were stressed about leading up to the day. Having our reception at Chateau La Mer was one of the best decisions we've made for our wedding!!
The best decision I ever made (besides getting married to my best friend) was choosing Chateau La Mer and Rob made everything so much easier. He was there for us every step of the way. Helped in anyway he could and made our wedding day so memorable. The food, venue, drinks, and desserts were amazing. People are still talking about how amazing the food was and how the staff was extremely nice. My bridal attendant went above and beyond and was always one step a head. I wish I could have been a guest at our own wedding! I hope someone I know has a party there just so I can sit back and really enjoy all the aspects of the venue again!
From the moment my wedding started Tino & the staff at the chateau la mer exceeded all of my expectations. I had an amazing bridal attendent who never let me or my husband want for a thing. She was so on top of her job you would think she could read our minds. Tino also went above and beyond for our special day. i could go on for days about how thrilled I am with the service we received from the chateau la mer. I forgot to mention the food! The cocktail hour could go on for days, everything was delicious! Then the dinner I was so glad I was able to take home extra it was delicious!
I had my wedding here 5/26/14. Lou, our banquet manager was THE BEST!!! From Day 1, he worked with us and was upfront about everything. He gave us his opinion based on his many years of experience and wasn't afraid to tell us the truth about our ideas and gave us great advice. He was always available when we needed him.
My only complaint is things did not operate on our timed schedule. For example the ceremony was supposed to start at 6:30 SHARP and at 631 when I asked why we hadn't started yet no one could tell me why. Meanwhile the groom and I were in place and I still don't know what the hold up was. According to my other vendors the Maître De had a "we can wait to do that" response to many things which I do not like.
But despite that, I would still recommend Chateau La Mer. We received several compliments on the food, drinks, and overall look if the venue. People have even told us we had the best wedding they've been to.
Thank You Lou and staff for making that possible!!!
My husband and I were married October 19th, 2013 at CLM. We were fortunate enough to work with Robert Drago who took care of everything for us. He not only gave us a competitive price, but he gave us quality service. Whenever we dealt with Rob, it was like working with family. He always greeted us with a smile, personally contacted us just to see how things were going and even kept contact with us after our wedding day was over. He was professional, sincere and a true pleasure to work with. He is one of the reasons why we booked our wedding at CLM. In addition, the food was amazing!!! People complimented us for months after about how delicious and plentiful it was. The view of the water is incredible. And, the boat entry for me as the bride was the little bonus I needed to feel even more special that day. The main room looked gorgeous that day for our wedding and everything went smoothly. Thank God! My bridal attendant was also fantastic! We highly recommend this catering hall, especially Robert Drago as your catering manager.
Amanda and Larry
I was never at a wedding prior to my own at this venue, but we go to their NYE Gala every year and have had such a great time. We decided to check out what they offer for a wedding. We fell in love!! They go above and beyond for everyone. So professional and my family and friends can't stop talking about it. The food and service is outstanding! My friend just booked her wedding there after going to ours. Highly recommended!! Tino is the man!
We had a day wedding, 2-7 reception and everything was amazing. I created my own centerpieces and they set up the room beautiful. Matron D and Bridal attendant were very attentive, boat entrance was fun, added a cute touch. I keep getting compliments on the food..even the cake we picked vanilla with canoli cream! You wont be disappointed..only issue was the road flooded by the end of the reception, so people had to be careful driving out
Everything was perfect the day of the wedding. We had our ceremony on site out on the docks. It was perfect. Planning was, at times, frustrating because they see so many people and can have up to 4 weddings in a single day. However we never saw the other weddings because of how perfectly everything was run. The food was excellent. We have no complaints. Have your wedding here!
I absolutely loved Lou and the crew at Chateau La Mer. They were very helpful and attentive to my needs. My wedding was as beautiful as imagined. The food was great and my guests were impressed with the idea of getting seconds!!! All they promised my wedding would be, the delivered above and beyond!!!! I would refer Chateau to anyone!!!! My bridal attendant Laura was excellent and there at my side every step of the way!
Chateau La Mer is an amazing wedding venue. The view alone is enough to have your wedding there, but the service, food and price sweetens the deal. We had our wedding on July 22nd and the entire process with them was superb. They were there to help us every step of the way. Lou was our contact who helped up pick our menu, Nick was our maitre'd for the reception and Jessica was my bridal attendant. Our wedding pictures ended a little early and our whole bridal party arrived almost half an hour before we were supposed to be there, Nick and the staff let them into the room and offered them food and drink while we waited. It was amazing. The whole evening was perfect. If you're in the market for a wedding venue, check them out!!
This is an elegant waterfront atmosphere.
Our arrival on the yacht was a statement.
the palm trees, flowers, water and pier was our destination venue.
Dream paradise!!
Great location food and a day I will never forget. Could have told bride and groom more about how the day would work. We were not told unless we asked. Nick the matria de is a little short with people. They do book back to back and my guests complained that they were shoved out right when the wedding was over. 7 on the dot, they had an 8 oclock party and those guest were already arriving. THat was my biggest issue.
The venue is beautiful especially in the summer. Our bridal attendant, Michelle, was extremely helpful and went above and beyond for us. Lou booked our wedding and is a nice man, but he probably will not remember you when each time you go back.
I had my wedding at Chateau La Mer in the middle of July and everything was perfect. That place is such a pleasure to deal with and are so hopefully the day of! I would recommend this venue to everyone
Chateau la mer was absolutely wonderful. Unfortunately it rained so we couldn't go on the boat but the food and the service was terrific.
I give 5 stars for service ,professionalism and the amount of food served! I loved every moment and my guests are still talking about what a lovely wedding reception it was.
Chateau La Mer was awesome from the day we met with Lou a year before our event right through the event date. Our Matre'D Monika was AMAZING. Our bridal attendant Michelle was AMAZING. Every need attended to and the food was incredible Not one complaint through the entire process. Quite a lot of extra items were provided no reequest was denied.
We fell in love and the staff was so curteous. We worked with Tino and Nick and they wrere so accomodating, knowledgable, sweet, profesional. They thought of everythiing right down to the last detail. The place is breath-taking! At the last minute before our ceremony, it started to rain and then it stopped and Nick worked with us on a split second decision to have the wedding outside after all instead of in the chapel, they had guys out there drying off the chairs for guests to sit on outside. We didnt even need a wedding planner because Nick was there guiding us through everything. We got to ride in boat and took great photos while we were on it. Top shelp liquor open bar all night long. And omg!! the food was amazing!! All of our guests kept raving about it and how they were offered seconds !!! Some guests took food home with them, pacakaged by Chateau!!! And the cocktail hour portion was sooo magnificent, amzing food there as well. Curteous professional wait staff and my bridal attendant was out of this world. She knew how to do a french bustle!!! Thank you Chateau La Mer for the perfect wedding!!!!
From the moment we stepped off the limo bus until the moment we walked out the front door, chateau la mer went above and beyond our expectations for our wedding day. Nick, the maitre dee and laura, our bridal attendant were incredible! Laura helped my husband and I with all the little details from bustling my dress to making sure we always had a drink! Nick handled the bigger picture things and made sure everything ran smoothly. We were originally told we wouldn't have the yacht since they don't have it until may(we were married April 28) but, nick came through and out yacht entrance totally wowed our guests! The room was set up beautifully and even with 217 guests, there was still plenty of room! Our guests are still raving about the food, it was amazing-from cocktail hour to the chocolate fountain and everything in between. My guests were offered seconds, if they had any room left! At the end of the night Laura and nick boxed up food, cake and everything we had brought to make sure we did not forget anything, they even wrote a sweet note. Our whole experience was fabulous!
We had our wedding here and everything was perfect - the venue was beautiful, the food was amazing, the viennese hour to die for, Nick was great and my bridal attendant Samantha was unbelievable. Overall my wedding was perfect, and I would have given it 5 stars if I was only grading the day of my wedding.
Lou was the person who handled the planning of my event. Upon calling me for the final payment, he quoted me $4,000 less then what I owed. I showed up with the check and was told I owed another $4,000 because he miscalculated. (so much for the "final payment"). There was also a mixup at the end of the night and the bridal suite was emptied before I had a chance to check it over. Turns out - my wedding ring got thrown out in the trash. I showed up the next day to go through their trash (after calling to inquire about it and being hung up on) and basically was told that there was no way they would throw out a ring, then I was told that someone from my bridal party stole it from me, then i was told that it was my fault for taking my ring off. It took me 10 minutes of fighting before I even got permission to go through their trash. And... we found the ring in the trash. When I went back inside to tell Lou that I found the ring in the garbage, he still told me that they didn't throw it out. We were also told by another staff member that we were lucky that we found the ring because he would have sent his kitchen guys out to look for it and they wouldn't have returned it, they would have pocketed it. (so he told us their staff steals.) Lou refused to take any responsibility or even apologize and we ended up getting in a big, loud fight in the lobby, all while another wedding was going on 10 feet away. The entire situation was VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, Lou was very argumentative and the altercation was seconds away from a punch being thrown (again - very unprofessional and this entire situation could have easily been avoided).
I would definitely recommend this place under the following conditions - Make sure that 100% of your communication is with Nick and MAKE SURE you are able to approve the bridal suite before they come through and throw everything out.
they were on top of everything the service was great and food was even better. On the water with great views of the south bay
Amazing venue! From the waitstaff to the last dance it was phenominal. I would highly recommend Chateau and their staff to any engaged couple!!!! The food was fanastic and I have a food allergy which is celiac disease and they catered to me!!! The bridal attendant was there for anything you might need and I couldnt say any better about this venue!
We got married here 10/28/11, and I must say it was everything I wanted and could have imagined. The staff went above and beyond to make our day amazing. My bridal attendent Samantha was terrific, she didnt over step or interfere but was there when I looked and needed her. The food was non stop, the set up of the cocktail hour was just incredible. Dinner choices where unbelievable, everyone is still raving about.
I had a halloween themed wedding and what I brought to the hall(which was an excessive amount) they used and made it look perfect. I would recommend this venue for anyone.
I am so impressed/pleased with the service that we received from CLM! Their staff is so on point and everything ran so smoothly and seamlessly! My bridal attendant Jessica was amazing and attended to my every wish! I couldn't have been happier! Not the mention the food!! It was delicious - my guests can't stop talking about it!
We had an amazing wedding at chateau la mer! The setting was beautiful, the. food was excellent (from what we heard from our guests). Our maitre d was sohelpful and attentive. Our experience was unbelievable. Highly recommend it.
I knew as soon as I went to this location that I would be having my wedding there. The outside deck with the palm trees definitely sold me on it since we were having the ceremony there as well. Nick was a pleasure to work with and the day of went so smoothly. Although we didn't eat all of the guests raved how great the food was. The staff working on the day of were all fantastic, the bridal attendent was a sweetheart and everything was just perfect!
