My husband and I had to replan our wedding due to COVID. This venue was so accommodating for us. They decorated and did an amazing job, and the catering team was very professional with excellent food. We were extremely happy with how everything went!
Beautiful, beautiful setting with a great staff, cheap alcohol, and delicious food all for an affordable price. Shelley helped my husband and I out so much for the big day and was quick to respond for any questions or requests that we had. The winery was very accommodating and our guests loved the atmosphere. I would recommend this venue to anyone!
I recently had a wedding at Chateau Pomije Winery. While the venue is gorgeous the service was very poor. We purchased a limited open bar which should have included 3 wines. They only offered 2 wines for a majority of the night. They forgot about scheduled appointments, attempted to overcharge us, took an extreme length of time to respond (sometimes weeks) and I would get conflicting information between staff. One of the coordinators was usually abrupt and sometimes rude to my vendors, family and myself. She also frequently referred to the terms of the contract (which was given to us late) and then they broke the terms listed in the contract. I would have liked to give this venue a high review because it is beautiful setting, however, the service and communication made it very challenging and frustrating with planning and coordinating with other vendors. I have communicated these concerns with the coordinator as well as the owner. The owner said he would get back to me within a week, it is now going on 3 weeks with no response
I am a vendor that has played several weddings at this venue. The person in charge of running weddings is rude and hard to work with. She also helped ruin the ceremony by having too many stipulations and being too bossy on where equipment should be placed that we were too far away from the actual ceremony.
When it came to dinner, keep in mind we have been there since 230pm setting up, we were told they do not feed the vendor.
This venue needs to focus on treating everyone with respect, and how to provide excellent service in addition to the best service they can to make the event, wedding... whatever be a success than saving a buck by not serving vendors or being difficult to work with. We are all professionals or so I assume, so take into consideration a vendors proffesional experience on doing there job by providing the assistance to make their bride & groom happy with a perfect wedding.
POOR POOR customer service.
My husband and I were married at Chateau Pomije in September 2016 and couldn't have asked for a more beautiful setting or helpful team.
Shelley was easy to reach and quick to respond to any questions we had during the planning process. Shelley and the team were able to execute our vision for the ceremony and reception while providing their expert suggestions on details we hadn't thought of.
We had an outdoor evening ceremony and the reflection of the sun setting over the trees on the lake was absolutely breathtaking. After the nuptials, one of our photographers made mention that this was one of if not the most picturesque venues he'd shot all season.
Our guests enjoyed a variety of meal options and the bar service was top notch. What an experience to share the estate-bottled wines with our closest friends and family!
Chateau Pomije was able to accommodate even our vegetarian guests with a tasty entree.
We so enjoyed our experience and wouldn't have changed a thing. Thanks again Shelley and team for making our special day unforgettable.
Chateau Pomije is a beautiful setting, and an ideal place to celebrate your special day. On the day of our wedding, they were absolutely wonderful! Erin was the lead server, and she is probably the most attentive and kind server I have met! CP is also willing to work with you on just about anything you want to do, as long as it doesn't damage the property. One thing to know is that communication is very slow, and several miscommunications happened in the time leading up to our wedding. I know there were some personal things happening with the coordinator, but prior to these events, the communication was very one-sided. That being said, this is still a great place to get married, just plan ahead and stay on top of things!
From the minute we walked in and saw the beautiful view and gorgeous building, we knew we had found the place for our wedding. Shelly and Rachel were wonderful and worked with us every step. We had some crazy ideas, but they helped us realize our dream wedding and made it that much greater with the care they took in making sure everything was perfect for us. The food was exceptional-we had several weird dietary restrictions and they worked with us on every one. They had fabulous recommendations for specialty services-we wanted a coffee bar and they knew just who to talk to, we needed lodgings and they immediately recommended places for us. They walked us through the entire process and explained things that we had not even thought of.
The entire day was perfect, the staff was helpful and sweet, and the pictures came out looking unbelievably gorgeous. We had the best day and cannot thank everyone at Chateau Pomije enough for making it happen.
The venue in its self is beautiful. It seems like everything is a la cart. Was told there was no hidden fees, but when I asked about things it was always a charge. You may review what you have planned for the day but it will not turn out correctly. The "wedding coordinator" has to much going on. Always looking to up your bill. Day of my wedding the "wedding coordinator" was showing the venue to other people who were interested in the venue, instead of attending for me as I was paying her for the day.
Our wedding at the Chateau Pomije was everything we dreamed it could be and more. The two things that determined our final choice was price and the ability to facilitate both the ceremony and reception.
With the rental fee being so reasonable, it allowed us to have the budget to make the evening very special and they went out of their way to make sure our vision came true. Our guests won't stop talking about what a wonderful time they had!
Ceremony: The lake and archway made a beautiful romantic backdrop for our ceremony and the outdoor gazebo worked wonderfully in holding the string quartet.
Reception: The reception hall was decorated to match our vision. It was an awesome mix of romantic and fun. The Chateau provided us:
• a wonderful table of appetizers to start the evening
• a custom meal to match our tastes
• cake cutting
• table settings and decor
• a late night s'mores bar which was incredible
• vendor assistance and coordination (thank you!!!!)
• and all set up and take down which made our lives so easy/non-stressed.
The location is a bit off the beaten path, but our guests did not mind the drive. We also provided a shuttle bus from Hollywood casino for guests as an option.
We are so glad we selected the Chateau Pomije as our venue.
Cheers!
I had such a great experience at the Chateau, the building, the lighting and the overall space is such an inviting place to have a special event. The food was tasty, the dance floor has ample space and it an overall great experience. Check it out for yourself!
My wife and I got married on July 26th at Chateau.
Overall, we were extremely pleased with the whole experience! After touring several of the cheaper venues in the Northern KY area, we found out about Chateau. This place had everything we had wanted in one stop. It was rustic, which was the theme we wanted.
In terms of cost, you cannot beat the fact that you get the rental of the location free with the purchase of food. So this takes care of two birds in one stone. We came up to sample some of the food after we had our initial visit and we were sold!
We dealt mainly with Shelley and a little with Rachel towards the end. We live in Florida and all the time leading up to the wedding, we probably called Shelley a thousand times (it felt like it). But every time, she was patient, friendly, organized, and VERY quick to respond or find out whatever we needed.
We had our rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception all at Chateau and the wait staff was extremely friendly. We had around 200 guests and they were all accommodated easily. The ceremony was outside, as there is not so much room inside. But with grounds like theirs, you don't want to be inside. It was a beautiful summer day (it didn't rain!) and it couldn't have been more perfect.
Part of the charm, but also can be a headache, is that it is off the beaten path, per se. It's about 20-30 minutes from hotels. This is the only drawback, but you would hope that your guests would be responsible enough to carpool if they plan on drinking.
We definitely recommend this venue to take some of the stress away. Shelley works on YOUR behalf to make sure the vendors are on time and know where to go. And like I said, if you can take care of the catering as well as the venue at the same time, it makes planning and budgeting a lot easier. There are no hidden fees, so you know what you are paying for. It is gorgeous and we have the BEST photos to prove it. Make sure to try all the wines, especially the Nectar Kiss! You won't regret it.
I had my wedding here this past December (2013), and I can't begin to explain how impressed I was with Chateau Pomije! We had approximately 175 guests attend, and there was plenty of room. The venue was beautiful and suited our "Rustic Winter Wonderland" theme. The staff is very helpful, and Shelley, the owner, assisted us every step of the way. Communication with her was clear and prompt, and she went above and beyond to make sure our day was special. Prices are very fair and reasonable; there are no hidden fees. I would highly recommend this venue!
We want to thank Chateau Pomije for helping us through out this long period of communicating back and forth for months, to make our day a success. We loved everything about Chateau! It is a great place to have a wedding! Thank you again for making our day special it was beautiful! Absolutely perfect!
I got married this past May at this venue and it was AMAZING! They were very help, flexible and made me feel at ease on my big day. The were accommodating and made us feel very special. The food was delicious and we had so many compliments from our guests. It was so neat to be serving our guests wine from the very vineyards that were outside. We were unsure of the spring weather, so upon short notice we were able to have our wedding outside like we had hoped! I would highly recommend this venue to anyone.
Beautiful views from the reception hall, great indoor/outdoor areas, nice dance floor, awesome wine. They pretty much accommodated all of our wants/needs, even added an entree that wasn't on their menu just for our wedding. Only hiccup was a little wait time for guests getting food at the buffet when it needed to be switched out.
wine was good
This venue is perfect for outdoor weddings and just beautiful for the indoor reception. The employees were very helpful and even when faced with small glich they worked it out so that I did not notice! Would recommend this venue to anyone!
I fell in love with the Chateau Pomije from my very first look at it. They have a beautiful arch in front of a gorgeous lake fountain and a breathtaking landscape of trees as far as the eye can see. I made arrangements for my big day and set a "save the date" with the coordinator. That was on a Sunday. I was told they would be in touch in me that following week to review all my choices and arrange for the payment of my deposit. I contacted them via email the next day to ask a question I had forgotten to while on the tour. I received no reply. I emailed them once on Tuesday...no reply. I left a voicemail for them on Tuesday evening to return my call the following morning. I never got a phone call. I emailed again on Wednesday and got no reply. I emailed again on Thursday and was told that they would have Christine contact me. I received no email or return phone call. I sent an email on Friday and still was greeted with no response. So on Saturday I finally called and left another voicemail thinking maybe there were issues with the internet provider. I asked them to call me back and stated I had a deposit due on Sunday, had tried unsuccessfully to contact them and needed to speak with them. I did not receive a phone call or email back. I talked to friend who is getting married before me and she said she had the same experience with them. I will never recommend them to anybody again.
I had a "gothic horror film" themed wedding at Chateau Pomije. The staff was amazing, food was good. The atmosphere was the best. It is a must for any size wedding.
this was an awesome venue. mary and christine were always very helpful and made sure we were clear with everything that was going to happen. the lake was a beautiful backdrop and the patio is gorgeous! the only reason the i took away a star was b/c the red wine wasn't quite as good as it was at the tasting. maybe a different batch? the however was great! it seems some caterers find it difficult to serve tender, juicy meat, but they got it perfect! we had the citrus pork and burgandy beef tips! delicious!
The entire venue is absolutely gorgeous, and actually reasonably priced, compared to other comparable venues in the area. The staff is sometimes pushy and lacks tact, but overall takes care of the clients. Their in-house caterer (Destiny's at Beckitt Ridge Country Club) has excellent food.
I loved the venue. My guests loved the option to go onto the covered patio an look at the lake. They were very open about letting me set up the tables and ipod speakers 2 days in advance and serving both pies and cake at the wedding. They also found space and put out a million flowers vases they let us arrange there. My only complaint is that they were hard to reach. They only answer the phone weds. to sat. and took over a week to answer emails and didn't always answer your questions. but overall i am very happy with the venue!
The Chateau Pomije was a beautiful location for my wedding. I have heard nothing but wonderful feedback from my guests about having my wedding there. We thought about having a destination wedding--but realized many of our family would have missed out. Chateau Pomije was the best of both worlds!
Christine and Mary were helpful--Christine had a very good system set up in which I had very little to stress or worry about!
I'm so glas I picked this place to get married and have my reception. The staff are so friendly and Christine & Mary are so helpful. They made my day perfect and even let me personalize things to make it feel like my own place. Pet Friendly outside for my dog ring bearer and flower girl really made my wedding. Only down side was that the music system outside cut in and out when I walked down the aisle. May want to bring your own if you plan on using your iPod for the ceremony music. Thanks SO much CPW!
Ok, first I will say the positive! They did honor our initial deposit after we had rescheduled our wedding arrangements several times (against our will). They didn't have to do that. They also did allow room for negotiation on some of the fees for dinner/reception.
My husband and I had a beautiful ceremony outdoor next to the lake. When we came for our "30 day walk through" before the wedding, the landscaping had not been "weeded" and tended to. Plants and shrubs were overgrown as well as the lake was surrounded by "cat tails" and was not well mowed or maintained. Considering the price of using the winery and vineyards for our ceremony backdrop, we were very dissapointed. Since it is a ceremony site, we would've assumed it to be well groomed and maintained by June.
So, we actually hired a professional landscaper to come in and clean everything up. (the winery did eventually reimburse us, however) I don't believe that it is anyone else's job, but the vendor's, to make sure the place is presentable. Unbelievable!
We also had our reception there, in the winery banquet room. It is beautiful and serene, especially with the large windows overlooking the lake as the sun fades away.
First of all, throughout the entire planning process, the wedding coordinator/winery representive said she would be on site the day of the wedding, helping things to go smoothly. Um, well...let's just say, my now husband, was asked to move a big container of our centerpiece flowers for her (in his tux a few hours prior to ceremony) and needless to say he ended with yellow flower stamen stained on his pearl colored vest!! Why did she ask the Groom!! We were able to have the flowers, bouquets, and corsages dropped off the day before and stored in the kitchen refridgeration. The groom and groomsmen, along with our parents were there first to get pictures. The coordinator did not help get the flowers out of the kitchen, nor was able to be found to find our where they were! So we ended having some pictures of the guys and parents without them! Then, once I had arrived, my mom and mother-in-law found them and dipersed them. (again, it would be ok if I needed to have a designated person to handle this stuff, but she acted like it would be handled)
Isn't that what staff are hired for, at least!! That's unheard of! But wait, there's more!
Once we were ready for the champagne toasts, I had to go the the bar/kitchen and specifically request for them to bring it out!! This was also after the coordinator said she would be on stand-by to ensure we had it at the time we had designated. Wow!
Seriously, this place is (was beautiful) and we made it a wonderful day to remember, but I definitely recommend hiring your own wedding coordinator for help on your special day.
