Chateau St Croix Winery

This was a FANTASTIC venue for our wedding. The staff was on point (Matt, the GM, was very easy to work with and very receptive to our needs. The rest of the staff was super helpful the day of the wedding). The venue is GORGEOUS so we were able to save a lot of money by making all of our decorations ourselves - we simply didn't need to add much because the venue spoke for itself. All of our guests commented on the beauty of the location and it made our wedding feel like a fairy tale. The only slight drawback was the location. My husband and I live in the Twin Cities, as do most of our friends, so we all needed to get hotels for the wedding. Though we were okay with staying in hotels, there were two other weddings happening in Taylors Falls/St. Croix Falls that weekend - both of which had already reserved blocked rooms at the only hotels in town. We ended up having our room block at the Grandstay in Chisago City (30 minutes away from the winery - quite a bit further than I would have liked). This was in no way in the control of Chateau St. Croix - the other couples simply booked their venues before we did and we were limited in our options. It's just something to be cognizant of when considering this venue. I don't think the distance deterred in any way from our wedding, but it made our shuttle budget a bit higher than expected.
