Katie was absolutely amazing and I cannot imagine how our wedding celebration would have happened without her help. In the weeks leading up to the wedding she was always organized,...
prompt, and knowledgeable--helping us cover details and tackle questions and loose ends we might not have realized needed follow up in time. The day of the wedding, she was the first person at the venue and the last to leave--she worked incredibly hard and honestly by the end of our brief time as her clients felt like part of the family. (Except kind of better than family because you can use her to keep your own family members in line!)
I've really been procrastinating on writing this long overdue review, because how does one put into words something that meant more than words can convey? Cheer & Dear made the whole wedding weekend become like a happy dreamscape that my husband and I got to float around in. I literally don't know how to thank Katie enough because what she gave to us was intangible and priceless. The whole day was smooth, beautiful, timed out, and FUN because she were there!
Katie was absolutely amazing as our month of coordinator for our tea ceremony and wedding reception. She was not only extremely kind and cheerful, but also hard working and extrem...
ely responsive. It was wonderful working with her rather than a very large wedding planning company because we felt like we got to know her on a personal level. She went above and beyond to get to know us early on in the process (about a year out from our actual wedding reception) and checked in on us periodically throughout the year (even though she was under no obligation to do so). She even brought us home-baked cookies when we first met her!
We had a highly customized wedding since our venue was a raw space in Brooklyn, New York. Katie developed an extremely detailed, thoughtful timeline. She was a huge source of support during the month leading up to the event when we had to be in constant communication with our vendors. She stayed on top of that process and was in touch with each vendor to make sure they understood the day of logistics and the wedding timeline. She attended our final walk-through with us, our caterer, and our venue manager, and asked detailed questions that allowed our event to run more smoothly.
The wedding day was hectic, but made so much easier by Katie’s presence. She understood our setup very well and coordinated with friends who were helping to set up and take down decorations at the venue. She was there from the first delivery early in the morning until late in the evening when we turned off the lights. Throughout the event, she checked in with us to make sure we were having fun and whether we needed anything. She also came prepared with last minute supplies she thought we would need (and we did need them) and pointed out small details we didn’t consider.
For example, we had our guests sign a Cards Against Humanity deck in lieu of a traditional guestbook, but didn’t think to test out our ballpoint pens on them. Katie noticed that we needed Sharpies and saved us from not having a guestbook at all! She even had a backup dress ready for when one of our guests tore hers.
We were a bit sad when the wedding ended because it meant that we would have no reason to interact with Katie as frequently since we are sure she will be busy helping other brides and grooms. If you want an incredible person helping guide you through your many wedding tasks, you should definitely hire Katie.
