re traveling from new york so you can imagine it was a FAR destination wedding. Not to mention, 48 hours before our wedding the hawaii government mandated no more than 25 people at outdoor weddings effective on our wedding day. Our wedding planners were able to make the wedding happen 1 day earlier than scheduled. contacted all the vendors and everything. with no extra fee's on our part. They were there all night making sure everything went as planned. They went above and beyond for us. We would search no further and we would recommend every person use Cherished in Hawaii Weddings for their wedding!!! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!

--- Due to Oahu's fluctuating covid regulations, our wedding plans changed a number of times. And at a certain point we thought we'd have to elope! Luckily, the ladies at CIHW held our hands every step, twist, and turn along the way. They worked with us through every plan change and always kept an open line of communication. They responded promptly to emails and answered all of my (many) questions. I truly cannot imagine working with anyone else during such an uncertain time. --- Planning a wedding in and of itself is no easy feat - let alone trying to plan a (destination) wedding during a pandemic. And a bride such as myself, who is considered to be "the planner" of the couple, couldn't help but believe this was all some kind of cosmic joke. Our plans were so up in the air! At one point, Oahu restricted gatherings to 5 people so we un-invited all of our guests. Two weeks later Oahu opened gatherings back up to 100 guests. Chaos ensued. --- Long story (not so) short, our initial wedding of 75 guests turned into an intimately beautiful event of 25. And I feel super lucky that we did not have to postpone our special day. If you are getting married and you're reading this and you're overwhelmed because you sent out 20+ emails to other coordinators let me save you some time: CIHW was probably the most professional, reasonably priced, and helpful coordinator I came across during my research. The ladies at CIHW really care about their clients and will ensure that your special day runs smoothly.

From the very beginning, I spoke & emailed Mina regarding budget, venues, vendors and ideas. We had a little over a year to plan the wedding and Mina was great w/ responding & gave us many options. Jayvee handled the wedding decor & our wedding vision board, I’m so thankful because she was very patient w/ me and helped us save money where we could. Because we had ample time to plan the wedding, I really didn’t worry or stress too much up until 2 months before the wedding and that’s when I was introduced me to Leah. Leah is the timeline coordinator, she goes over EVERY detail of the wedding. With a little over month before the wedding, we spoke to Leah on the phone for almost 4 hours.. she went through EVERYTHING. Day of the wedding, everything went so smooth! It honestly didn’t hit me until my MOH pulled the car up to the venue where Leah met up with us and offered to get me a drink to calm my nerves. My husband also coordinated with Leah for a surprise number during the reception. These women are a godsend and if I could relive this day over again I would because it really was the best day of our lives. My only regret is that we didn’t get a picture with them on the day of. CIHW thank you so much for everything, we couldn’t have done it without you guys! I’m so impressed & feel so loved by this team, you all have exceeded my every expectation for our best day ever. han my initial budget. Fortunately, Cherished in Hawaii Weddings has no minimum spend. They were very respectful of my budget, even though I personally decided to go over afterwards because eventually I just said "YOLO!" I'm so happy I found this whole team of lovely ladies from Cherished in Hawaii Weddings! Mina, Leah, Jayvee, and their assistant Taylor carried out my vision on my wedding day. I was going for a modern, tropical vibe which was exactly what I got! Although they all have different roles (Mina communicated with my vendors, Jayvee handled the rentals and was also my wedding day coordinator along with Taylor, and Leah was in charge of the timeline), they all worked in unison to ensure that everyone was on the same page with the wedding. I was the kind of bride who was very involved (a.k.a. annoying and OCD lol), so I am very thankful for the ladies' patience with all my emails and questions, and especially the constant changes I was making. I know that must happen with many brides, but the team always remained professional and understanding. Communication is extremely important especially with destination weddings, and the ladies always responded to my emails promptly with detailed answers. They also offered their personal numbers in case I needed to text or call them for more pressing issues, especially as my wedding date approached. They could tell that I am a very detail-oriented person and a perfectionist, so they ensured that all of my requests were addressed and executed what I wanted. Some brides do not know what they want, which is totally fine. That is why the ladies are there to help! The team still gave me a lot of great suggestions for the things I was unsure of, which was really helpful. They were also very honest with their opinions, which was beneficial in choosing vendors. They were able to share their past experiences with vendors so that I could make informed decisions. Through our communication, I gained full trust in them to ensure that my wedding would go as perfectly as it could. They were definitely able to relieve the stress of wedding planning. They also went above and beyond for me when it came to an issue that involved the wedding alcohol, so I can't thank them enough for that. It was a mistake that I had made, but they found a solution. In addition to executing my vision, my wedding day was very organized. No one wants chaos on their wedding day. Jayvee, who was my day-of coordinator, made sure I stayed as on-track as I could along with all the other vendors and set-ups. My wedding day was indescribably more beautiful that I had expected, so I thank them immensely for helping to plan the best day ever! Even my guests said that it was the best wedding they had ever attended. My husband and I feel the same way, and we're not even being biased. I am so sad that my wedding planning journey has come to an end. I am glad that I was able to meet the lovely team and thank them in person. IH and that they knew what they were doing! They had loads of templates and sent you things to do throughout the planning process but never bombarded you with to much at once. They seriously are just amazing at what they do I cannot fault them for anything. In fact I had no idea how it would all look or all come together but it completely exceeded my expectations. Our day was absolutely perfect. Mina, Jayvee, and Leah handled different aspects of the wedding planning process. They were all exceptional at the part they played. Mina handled all the details, Jayvee did the design, and Leah did the timeline and ran the show on the day. It was awesome to see them in action on the day itself! My guests were amazed and kept saying what great planners we had. Leah was unbelievable and I know she does this all the time but she made me feel like a queen that day. Also I spilled some balsamic on my dress, Jayvee saw and ran over, unzipped her little pouch and pulled out a tide wipe and cleaned it right up!! Was so great.. what a lifesaver! That would have been terrible if I had to walk around with a stain on my dress all night!! I should also mention that we changed our whole layout the day before the wedding as the weather looked to be sunny and we decided to have dinner outside out from under the tent, and then make the tent for the dance floor and bar. They did this with a complete smile and who knows if this was difficult or not for them cause they made it happen seamlessly! Or at least that is the impression they gave us. So just complete professionals. Loved that flexibility. It was all about us and what would make our day perfect, not what might be easiest for them. My guests also raved about the food!! They used the words “to die for” many many times! I would highly recommend the caterer they use. We were thrilled with all our vendors through Cherished in Hawaii and used all of theirs apart from we chose our own photographer/videographer. But we were happy with literally everything they recommended. I will miss working with these ladies. They were so great. So all in all Cherished in Hawaii are an 11 out of 10. They were absolutely fabulous and you would be crazy not to hire them for your wedding.

We started to stress out because we realized that we had procrastinated the last 4 months. Opps... there goes our non-planning minds... We started frantically researching vendors and realized that we needed a wedding planner to just TAKE CARE of EVERYTHING.... and OMG!!! It was THE BEST decision EVER!!!! We reached out to CIH with less than a month before our wedding. They definitely had their work cut out for them, especially working with two people all the way from Texas, who might've been a little bad on the communication side (btw sorry, CIH) because we had no plans or ideas on how we wanted our wedding to be. "Theme? What's a theme? Colors? Why do we need colors? Flowers? Doesn't Hawaii have flowers everywhere?" They definitely had to take full control and we are so glad they did. CIH stepped up to the plate in order to make our wedding THE BEST day we could've ever imagined. From the decorations, to the colors, and straight down to the food! Everything was more than just perfect! It was perfect, easy, and best of all, STRESS FREE!!!! My husband and I are so happy that we were able to find Mina, Leah, and JayVee to help plan and share our day with us and we will be forever grateful! From the beginning stages of planning (14 months prior to wedding day) last year, my wife and I thought that we could plan/coordinate everything without needing any professional services since we had so much time to prepare, and we typically are very organized. However, around the 6-7-month mark prior to the wedding, we realized that no matter how organized and on top of things we were, we needed someone to take the lead on executing everything the day of the wedding, as well as some help since we were planning our wedding in Hawaii all the way from Washington, DC. At that time, I had gotten a recommendation to CIHW from a family member, and after doing some research on the company – decided to call them up. After the phone conversation with Leah, we knew immediately that we wanted to hire them and didn’t need to contact the other companies that we had lined up to call. We decided to go with the day of coordination package. About 2 months prior to the wedding, we got a call from Leah to create our wedding timeline for the day of the wedding. Spent several hours on the phone, but we hammered out every single detail from waking up, until end of reception. There were multiple things Leah covered on our timeline that we didn’t even think of, and this is one example of how valuable their service is. Fast forward to the week prior to the wedding – this is where CIHW really shined for us. We had a meeting in person with Leah and Jayvee, and we went over the timeline again, but this time finalizing it, and many other details that we had not thought about or left on the back burner. The next day, Leah ran our wedding rehearsal at Sea Life Park flawlessly. We had envisioned how we wanted everything to go, and were witnessing it first hand at the rehearsal - it was on point. She was patient with everyone, all while loosening them up and making them feel comfortable. A couple of hours afterwards on that same day, we had another meeting with Leah and our reception planner at the Kahala Hotel. She made sure we finished up that meeting so my wife and I wouldn’t be late to our rehearsal dinner scheduled for that evening. Now for the day of the wedding – this is where both Leah and Jayvee rocked out like rockstars. There’s way too much to list here, but from the beginning of the day until the end of the reception, Leah was ON TOP of everything and made sure that no matter what kind of obstacles we had that day – that the day would be a great one – and it sure was and exceeded both of our expectations. We’re still not sure how Jayvee decorated the entire reception so beautifully. We even joke around now saying that “If it was storming during the ceremony and the roof was burning down at the reception, Leah and Jayvee would still ensure the wedding was awesome with a smile on their face”. We could write a whole page about the wedding day alone, but the bottom line is if we had to do it again, we’d hire them no questions asked and would consider the full coordination package. of those people that said they absolutely could not afford to hire a wedding coordinator, and wouldn't need to because we were having a small non-frilly wedding. Meaning we'd have under 50 guests, and the look of our wedding would be very simple with nothing extravagant. It was a destination wedding for us, and as time slowly crept up I began realizing there were lots of factors I was forgetting. Who would make sure the DJ would know where to set up? How would I tell the photographer where to take pictures (as I had never been to our venue before)? Who would set up and clean up the few decorations we did have? I was adamant our parents and wedding party would not lift a finger, as they had already traveled so far to be with us. This is when I began looking into the idea of a Day of Coordinator. Mina emailed me back quoting me a price and listing the services that came along with it. She was not pushy at all, which I loved, and somehow seemed so calm and friendly even via email. We hired them and started working directly with Leah, who is awesome! I emailed Leah with little things every other day or so and she got back to me super quick. We had one long phone meeting, and one meeting in person before the wedding and that was all we needed. Our wedding was PERFECT! My husband (who was not immediately on board for a DOC) said that was the best money we spent. Shout out again to these three amazing ladies. They are truly professionals, but connect with you as though you've known them for years. Bottom line: you need a DOC for your wedding if you want to be carefree and enjoy your day. They were very on top of things and organized and such a pleasure to work with. On the days leading up to the wedding, we had several meetings and phone calls to make sure everything was lined up and ready to go. I loved each meeting with them because it made us feel assured and know that we were in good hands. I also really appreciated the sweet message that they sent the day before :) On the day of, everything went so smoothly and the timeline and timing of everything was perfect. It has been almost two months since our wedding and our guests are still talking about our wedding! Carrie found a beach for us that the other vendors overlooked; Troy, the officiant, had performed thousands of ceremonies and really made it feel personal for our family; and Mark, the photographer, had the experience and patience [with mother nature] to frame the perfect backdrop for our photo sessions. I would highly recommend them for your Hawaii wedding, vow renewal, etc!

She has access to amazing vendors that kept me in budget. You just have to trust that she knows what she’s talking about and she definitely knows! On top of her excellent coordination and budget management skills, Carrie is amazingly kind and genuine. I am a terrible decision maker and I am grateful for Carrie’s patience and willingness to break down decisions into smaller “action items” that I could digest. Her years of experience really show in her preparation and professionalism. Carrie was so great to work with and the final product just blew my mind! The décor was amazing, the live music spot on, and the set up and clean up happened without me even batting an eye! JUST TRUST HER, SHE KNOWS HER STUFF! An added bonus was her husband, Mark, being a registered minister who understands the legal and administrative processes for marriages; he provided advice to our pastor and even assisted in getting the paperwork complete. I personally liked Carrie's optimistic and calming personality, which was influential in calming my bride's nerves. Carrie literally would absorb all the coordinating requirements while managing the vendors leading up to and on the day of the wedding. It is quite remarkable how such a sweet young lady can manage so much stress without even losing her composure or temperament. We started working with CIHW ~9 months before our planned wedding date. CIHW helped keep my wife and I focused on the most important decisions first as opposed to trying to work on everything all at once. Despite being in California during most of the planning, communication with CIHW went without a hitch as they always get back to you within 48hours (most of the time much sooner). A few months before our wedding date, CIHW helped coordinate a wedding planning visit for my wife and me. CIHW worked around our tight schedule and before we even got to Hawaii, we had a detailed itinerary complete with a schedule as well as contact info for all of the planning meetings. During our stay, we had a face-to-face meeting with Carrie where she sat down with us for 3-4 hours to work through the big opens and helped us close on many smaller details as well. CIHW always provides fantastic tips and tricks along the way to try to help couples save money. They were extremely respectful about making sure that they worked within the budget that we set. We loved all of the vendors that CIHW recommended and it was clear that all of the vendors love working with them. On the day of the wedding, all of the hard work from CIHW really crystalized for me. The timeline that they put together went without a hitch! I didn’t carry a phone from the moment that I stepped onto the venue. During our ceremony, our flower girl and ring bearer got shy (my wife’s niece and nephew), CIHW was able to change the procession order and get the little ones to their parents without skipping a beat. When my wife and I had our first dance, I accidentally stepped on her dress when picking her up (oops!). It broke a strap on my wife’s dress and popped off one of the buttons for the bustle. Carrie swooped in right after the first dance finished, and immediately safety pinned her strap back on and fixed the bustle. My wife didn’t even notice the strap and Carrie was already on it fixing it for her. Even though my wife and I didn’t want the event to end, it was relieving to know that CIHW had worked through all the details and made cleaning up after the event so easy for us. It was an amazing day and we couldn’t have pulled it off without the great team at CIHW.

from 5000 miles away BUT the groom's family was local to Hawaii and our guestlist ended up topping 200. Carrie worked with my crazy schedule and the time difference to nail down all the details. She helped us meet quality vendors who would have been hard for us to find, and because of her longtime relationships with them, they were responsive and flexible to meet our needs. I was able to do a scouting trip during the wedding planning process and she set up meetings and tastings so that we got everything done. Most of all, her planning process is about focusing on the FUN part of wedding planning. Carrie has a system and a timeline that she uses for all her weddings, and it's in your best interest to stick to it! It helps you and her keep all the wedding details organized so that your big day goes off without a hitch. I didn't even realize how spacey or vague I could be until I tried to work within the system, and it really helped focus me. Once you give Carrie all the details, she zooms in on the details and makes it happen without you having to worry about it. Okay, now the cream. We arrived in Hawaii and during our first meeting with Carrie and Mark (her husband and also our minister) 5 days before the wedding, they mentioned that a hurricane might be hitting Oahu on our wedding day. We had the event booked at Lanikuhonua, a beautiful and fully outdoor venue. As the week progressed, the hurricane warnings became more dire, stores were running out of bottled water, other people began cancelling outdoor events, and we got a phone call from the freakin' Navy highly suggesting that we relocate our event to an indoor venue. Most people would panic. Not Carrie (nor Mark, who became our personal emergency hurricane news tracker). Two days before the wedding we're frantically calling indoor venues who are, of course, all booked up. So she gives me the choice of moving the wedding up one day - our venue is available, and the weather is expected to be glorious. It's pure insanity, and of course we agree. So with 48 hours to go before the wedding, she arranges to have all my vendors come a day early (even the off-island ones came!), the rehearsal dinner to be booked early, the food to be prepared, the rentals to be delivered - it was madness. All the important vendors were able to do it, and we only had to switch out a few things because of scheduling conflicts (I didn't even notice the difference). My only job was calling 200 guests about the date change (yay). The whole wedding was a whirlwind and PERFECT, and Carrie made it happen. I think that, because of her years of experience and extensive vendor network, she's the only person who could've pulled this off. We even got some upgrades due to the date change (like the bigger site within Lanikuhonua) that worked out for the best. People were saying it was the best wedding they've ever been to and wondering how they were going to top it. Thanks to Carrie Lance and Hurricane Lester, we have the most amazing story to tell about our wedding. The punchline is that at 6am on our first day as newlyweds, hurricane watch for Lester was cancelled.

to the wedding day. She kept me calm and reassured that everything would be perfect and she was right. Without her I would have been a hot mess. Prior to our big day, Carrie warned me that guest would leave our wedding/reception saying that our wedding is the best that they've attended. We just got back from our wedding and all we can say is WOW!!! Even though I didn't believe her at the time, she was right! Every guest that we have spoken with has said "your wedding is the best that we've ever attended", "your going to be a tough act to follow", or "I can never go to another wedding again". All thanks to Carrie! First off TRUST CARRIE AND HER NO NAME VENDORS. If you are a baller on a wedding budget which I was, her vendors executed everything that I wanted to a T. The catering, cake, Polynesian Show, Flowers, Decor, Rentals, and DJ came out amazing. I provided photos to Carrie and her "no name" vendors gave me exactly what I wanted. If not they even went above my expectations. Not only are they great but they are completely affordable! Officiant wise use her Husband Mark Kurnow. He is awesome!!! He is genuine, funny, and he carries great energy. Everyone loved him. Carrie recommended him to us because we didn't have an officiant and we are so glad we used him. He performed our christian ceremony perfectly and he ended our ceremony with a Hawaiian Blessing and a blowing of the conch shell (a nice surprise that Carrie and him saved for us). Not to mention Mark gave us the VIP treatment, since Carrie was our planner. Mark stayed on site to help Carrie with anything that she needed help with. Great Husband :) He was in the sand taking photos, he helped set up the sound system for the Polynesian show, etc. Another nice thing about Carrie is that she gets excited when she save you money. Which I love!!! She also saved small surprises for us on the day of the wedding. An example is we booked the Polynesian Show through her! All we knew was that there was going to be fire, she surprised us with the kids World Champion Firedancers! Also with group participation. It was a really touch and an amazing way to end the night. Adam and I couldn't be happier with it. If you have no clue what you are doing Carrie simplifies everything with her experienced process and forms. She really does amazing work. She makes it so simple that I forgot I was a first time bride planning my first wedding :) All in all if your looking for a planner or an officiant or both Mark and Carrie are the way to go. They are a power couple when it comes to wedding planning and officiating. Carrie will be able to provide you your dream wedding within your budget. I cannot recommend her/her husband/her team highly enough. They are also genuine and caring people. I felt more like I was planning with a friend than I did with a planner. PS. I had my wedding and reception at Lanikuhonua Phase 2 (sunset). Everything really did come out Amazing and there is no other words that I could use to describe it. Thank you Carrie!!!

lan the entire wedding and I just show up on THE DAY ready to walk down the aisle. I gave Carrie a few ideas and she asked me some questions over the course of a few phone calls and traded emails. She made me feel comfortable and at ease all of the time. About 5 days ahead of time, I emailed Carrie and moved up my wedding date by 6 months! I was originally planning to get married in December 2016, and completely changed the timeline. I let poor Carrie know that we were coming next week and wanted to get married right away! She took it in stride, found a new (and less expensive!) venue, found a great hair/makeup artist, coordinated everything with the restaurant we chose for the reception, found a minister and made sure we got our wedding license. She never even seemed stressed about the last minute change of plans! I could not have asked for a more perfect team to plan my wedding. I would choose Cherished in Hawaii over and over again!
