Chesapeake Bay Waterfront Weddings
Holds ceremonies and receptions
Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum is a deluxe wedding venue in Saint Michaels, Maryland. Nestled on the banks of the bay, this incredible setting on 18 acres of land boasts multiple indoor and outdoor spaces for your special day.
The 18-acre campus was originally a busy complex of packing houses and docks on St. Michael’s Harbor. Since 1965, Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum has been a world-class museum dedicated to preserving the region's one-of-a-kind heritage. In addition to welcoming guests curious to learn about the unique history of Chesapeake Bay, the venue has transformed its spaces into fabulous, wedding-ready locations. Whether you’re looking for expansive views of the sparkling Miles River or an unforgettable museum reception, this venue will make your dreams a reality.
On the big day, tie the knot with the Miles River as your gorgeous backdrop. The venue has multiple ceremony spaces, including a 19th-century lighthouse, a charming bandstand, and a rustic-chic converted boatshed. While you and your beloved pose for photos on the waterfront, taking in the stunning scenery, guests can enjoy cocktail hour in the sunshine at Navy Point or in the gorgeous Welcome Center. Pick and choose the reception venue that fits your theme best, with various romantic settings. The Small Boat Shed is the height of rustic elegance, with exposed wood beams, boat decor, and delicate lighting fixtures. On lovely summer days, Navy Point and Fogg’s Landing are ideal for outdoor waterfront receptions, with deluxe tenting and space to dance under the stars. You can even charter a boat, The Patriot, a replica of a 1930s-era steam ferry. Cruise down the river with your loved ones, enjoying the full-service bar and taking in the romantic atmosphere. The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum venues vary in size and can host anywhere from 70-250 guests. The experienced events staff will work with you closely to ensure everything goes off without a hitch as you say, “I do.”

We had a wedding last weekend in the Small Boat Shed and it was amazing. We had 100 people and everyone fit perfectly. We had cocktail hour on the deck of the building next door by...
Navy Point and then moved into the boat shed for the reception. The views on the water were incredible and the sunset was hard to beat. Everyone got great pictures. Liz Cowee was so great to work with at the Maritime Museum and helped answer all of our questions. I would definitely recommend to anyone!
