l years ago, so when it was my turn, my fiance and I scheduled a tasting. The staff was really friendly, and even brought out a look book for us to see some of their past cakes. For the main cake, I wanted a few leafy vines growing up the side of the tiers. Other bakeries told us that in order to achieve this look, they'd have to use fondant icing, which neither of us liked. However, Chez RuRene said they could do it out of regular frosting, and the results were still amazing! The groom's cake was a three-dimensional shrimp boot (my husband loves fishing and shrimping), and they nailed it. Taste-wise, the cakes were light and moist, better than anywhere else in the city. Finally, their prices cannot be beat. Another bakery quoted me almost double for the same product. So if you're on a budget but don't want to sacrifice quality, go with Chez RuRene!

is very friendly and accommodating. I had scheduled a cake tasting appointment in 2016 and when I walked in, there was a chalkboard sign that said “Welcome, Alyssa”! Heather helped my mom and me pick out different flavors for each layer of my cake and worked with us on the design of each my wedding cake and my husband’s cake. I had so many people tell me that the cake tasted amazing and asked who we went with. Mrs. Terri did an amazing job with my cakes and me and my husband are surprising my bestfriend’s husband with his groom’s cake from there! For now on, Chez RuRene Bakery will be my go to for all of my cakes ! Thank y’all so much!

She really takes the time to make sure it is her best work. We also ordered our favors from them-mini pecan pies and they were such a hit! People loved them and they were adorable and delicious!

We took suggestions from friends and family and we also went on numerous websites to read reviews and we did not hear or come across Chez Ru Rene while researching. So we make our appointments with what we thought were the best of the best and having to fight our way into appointment times and store closings we had our list of appointments. Our first appointment was Haydel's Bakery. Everyone said if you want the best cake that is where we needed to go, and so we went. We were not impressed at all with the quality of the cake or frosting/filling. As I was sitting at the table I decided to pull up yelp to see what was in the area that we could possibly go visit to sneak in and taste the cake they had. Up pops Chez Ru Rene Bakery on Yelp! with only 3 reviews, but with all 5 stars and everyone mentioned that their guests loved the taste and quality of the cake. They were open so we drove about ten minutes down the road, found the bakery and went in. Since we did not have an appointment the did not have sample plates for us to taste so we bought some items and fortunately they had some cake that we could taste. By the way, while in the store I looked around and on one of the shelfs they had not one but to awards from theknot.com for the best wedding cakes for two consecutive years 2013 and 2014. It was an explosion of almond flavor that just melted in our mouths. My wife looked at me and said now I know what you mean. (When we were at Haydel's Bakery, I said that the cake was grainy and lacked flavor.) She continued on by saying that Chez Ru Rene's cake was light fluffy and extremely tasty. Sometimes when you get a cake it is really good for the first few bites then you can't eat anymore because it get too sweet. Not in this case. We gave them a picture of what we wanted, and it was like they copied and pasted. Our cake looked like and exact replica of the photo, minus they flowers we wanted to be different/added. All of my guest were asking where did we get the wedding cake? Saying, this is the best cake I have ever tasted...who ever made this cake must have made a deal with the devil, it is so amazing...I never knew wedding cake could actually be this good...this cake is absolutely phenomenal...this cake tastes as good as it looks...the cake looks too good to eat. If you are looking for a wedding cake, Chez Ru Rene absolutely must be on you list of tastings. Needless to say we did not go to any of our fore mentioned appointments, honestly once you taste this cake you will understand why. The Smith Family

and she designed the most beautiful cake, it was exactly what I wanted without me even saying so! They have some of the best cake I have ever eaten and they are quite a bit cheaper than the other big name bakerys! I would recommend them to anyone!!

blue dog cake for my husband was AWESOME! Both cakes tasted excellent and were very moist!

m. We got so many compliments on the cake - both were flavorful and moist. My husband also wanted a Reese's groom's cake. The bakery did a great job shaping the cake to look like a Reese's package and the cake tasted very much like a Reese's cup.

s. They were on time, put my cake pulls in nicely, and were good to work with. Everyone loved the cake, and it was not ridiculously expensive. They also went above and beyond for my brother's wedding cake (they used them too) and made a gluten free top piece so his new bride could eat cake too :)

People are still talking about it 2 months later!! They were amazing and communicated well, so kind. We loved them and I wish I had another wedding just to get another cake!! in the pictures u can tell I was upset to cut my cake!! Price was incredibly reasonable!!

This was the first time I had ever heard of them or tasted their cake but the owner showed me pictures of their work and so I gave them a shot. I can tell you it was the best decision I made! I wish more people knew about them because they are truly a hidden jewel in the city of New Orleans. Not only did my cake look amazing but it TASTE amazing! My guest could not stop talking about how good the cake was and where I got it from. There were several of my guest that asked me if I got my cake from one of the two well know bakeries and I had to tell them about this one. I even had one of my friends order her wedding cake from there!!! I will definitely be spreading the word about this hidden jewel in New Orleans!!!

a friend who worked at a bakery recommended Chez RuRene. They were extremely helpful and made an intricate 3D tool box with tools inside for my hubby. It was sugar free and tasted great and the price was unbelievably reasonable. They make regular cakes as well. The staff is great!

It not only looked good, it tasted even better. They created a louis v hand bag for ny bridal shower and a steeler's helmet ffor my husband's groom's cake. Give them a call, u will not be disappointed.
