The absolute best venue out there!! We had the honor to host our wedding there and we couldn’t have asked for better. Dawn and the owner of the venue were incredible. So kind, welcoming, big hearted and just incredible people. Our day was unforgettable all thanks to them. The experience they gave us was one of a kind. We felt so important and taken care of. Dawn was very detailed with us and made every step of the wedding planning less stressful and super organized. We absolutely love this place and the people! ❤️

We absolutely LOVED working with Chicago Theater Works for our wedding this December!! Dawn and Bill went above and beyond to help us create the Christmas wedding of our dreams! They are some of the nicest people we have ever met. They are more than accommodating and work your wants and needs into their schedule and venue space. They respond very promptly to emails and are very flexible with using their venue and resources to create the exact vision that you have in mind. Dawn is incredible! She is so sweet and personable and it was a pleasure to have her as part of our big day. Dawn felt like a part of the family! The venue is a blank slate which allows you to truly create the atmosphere of your dreams. Our wedding felt very intimate and was great for our "smaller" wedding of 100 guests. With the layout of the venue, we were able to see all of our guests and talk to everyone with ease. We catered pizza and pasta and utilized the venue's buffet tables and it was absolutely amazing! We also LOVED the placement of the dance floor in the middle of the event space as it encouraged more dancing and guest interaction. Our wedding at Chicago Theater Works was absolutely perfect and we can not wait to come back in the future! Without a doubt, you must add Chicago Theater Works to your tour list when on the hunt for the perfect wedding venue!

My twin sister and I threw a BANGER of a birthday party/fundraiser all with the help of CTW. We raised $10,000 and hosted approx 100 people all dancing/drinking/eating/donating. Both Dawn and Bill were very helpful and attentive to our needs. We came in two weeks prior to the event and had everything laid out very easily. Would do again, and we very well might!

Booking CTW for our venue was the best thing we did for our wedding! Dawn and Bill were incredible to work with. They were flexible, responsive, and easy to work with! I cannot reccomend them enough!

CTW was great to work with! They were professional from start to finish and went out of their way to make our wedding special. There was a plumbing issue (a toilet backed up) the night of our wedding, but the management team made sure everyone knew about it and it was dealt with speedily and appropriately. They worked wonders with our other vendors and tried to be as accommodating as possible. Some additional costs incurred trying to get in early for vendor delivery, which kinda stunk, but overall a great experience! Dawn was wonderful to work with on-site!

Having our reception at Chicago Theater Works was a dream! Dawn and Bill were very helpful and communicative, the venue was gorgeous, and it was very affordable without having to compromise our wish for a Chicago wedding! They have chairs, tables, a kitchen, bridal suite, and sound system-- all perfect for a DIY bride or a bride who's planning a lavish affair. If I could go back in time, I'd choose CTW all over again!

"Where do I begin? The choices for spaces are so inviting, but once I narrowed my choice to the Chicago Theater Works, it was seamless. Bill was prompt to reply to my request and connect me to Dana who was amazing in helping with all the details. After the initial meeting, we had a walk through two weeks before to solidify the plans. She was also quick to respond to my questions. And then... at the event, they were both present and incredibly helpful. It's wonderful to work with nice and professional people. CTW is a great location with lots of street parking available. We were able to decorate it the way we wanted and got so many complements. My guests were delighted as they didn't know it existed. The room is spacious and I had over 100 guests. The bar was plentiful, the kitchen has all you need, there are guests and host bathrooms as well as a changing room. I would definitely recommend as well as use this venue again. Thank you Bill and Dana! You're the best!"

I've used CTW twice - not for weddings, but for memorial celebrations for my parents. The venue is cozy, intimate but still roomy, and unpretentious. Bill, Dawn, and the staff are thoughtful, invested, diligent, and responsive. Highly recommended.

The venue is as cute as it looks on the photos. It was the perfect size for a 100-person reception. Dawn is amazing! Not only is she professional and on top of things, she is kind, accommodating, and full of positive energy.

A totally unique and awesome venue for a wedding reception! Dawn, the venue manager, was great and very quick to respond. The on site staff was helpful and super friendly! So happy catering at this venue and I highly recommend it!

I cannot emphasize enough how wonderful Chicago Theater Works is! Bill and Dawn were incredibly friendly and so easy to work with; they always responded to my messages within an hour of me sending them, no matter the day. The venue itself is beautiful and the perfect size for an event capacity of anywhere between 50-150 people. I hosted a formal dance for my university's club and we had about 50 attendees, all of whom had plenty of space to dance, walk around, and mingle comfortably in the space. The venue has a spacious kitchen, private bathrooms, an extra room to get ready in, a stage, fully stocked bar, speaker system, and basically anything else you would need for most formal events. It has an extremely convenient location for any form of transportation, with free street parking on nearby side streets after 6pm and several public transportation stops within a 5-10 minute walk. Furthermore, the rustic aesthetic of the venue is absolutely gorgeous and helped all of our event photos look beautiful! All of our attendees loved the space and gave us great feedback, so I would absolutely recommend this space for anyone looking to host a wedding, formal dance, or any other type of event!

Chicago Theater Works is Chicago’s hidden gem. The space is so classy and beautiful and has everything a great event needs - perfect location with plenty of parking around, a stage, jumbo screen, dance floor, tons of tables, beautiful bar and reception area, large enough to accommodate up to 175 people, and all the audiovisual equipment you will need at no additional cost. Beyond all this, the staff from the owner to the bartenders to the events coordinator (Dawn), were just amazing. We held our Gala at CTW- it would not have been the success that it was without the CTW team. The team put me at such ease because they had everything covered and went over and beyond to give us everything that we needed. I can go on and on. Dawn was so organized and had everything handled in the most professional way going over and beyond for us every step of the way. Jordin went out of his way to keep me on schedule. Wow- I really didn’t expect to have a party planner on top of everything else. Everyone was so kind as well and just so invested in the success of our event. I had my wedding at a fancy hotel in Beverly Hills. CTW was just as good if not better and a lot more affordable!!! We can’t wait to have our next Gala at CTW. So many people were impressed with the venue and I’m sure will be holding their event with them future. I received so many comments about how wonderful the venue was throughout the night. I would not change a thing. I wish I could give CTW more than five stars. Thank you CTW for everything!! Our gala would not have been the success it was without you!! Until the next one!

The team at Chicago Theater Works was incredible! We booked the venue in November, and they helped me host a beautiful New Year's wedding. I viewed several venues in Chicago and CTW was by far the best! The communication, flexibility and value allowed me to have an incredible event in my own neighborhood. We had a Art Market pop up at Chicago Theater Works. The space is ideal for all types of events. Ryan and Lisa were welcoming, professional and present the entire time of the event. The room can be customized and tables and chairs and provided. Our event was an success and we will be using the space for future events.

As an event planner I have recommended this venue to several of my clients, upon my visits Bill, Lisa and Ryan are always pleasant, accommodating to special requests, and responsive to questions that may arise during the planning process. What I love most about this venue is the flexibility in setting up the room to meet your own personal style.

We had the opportunity to work with the amazing team at Chicago Theater Works this weekend for a mutual clients wedding - from the start, the staff was offering to help us unload our car, offered carts, offered to help set up decor...we didn't know how to respond as we usually have to handle everything ourselves! This is a beautiful historic venue that is perfect for your intimate wedding with attentive staff, bridal suite, private rest rooms for the bridal party, sufficient kitchen for your caterer and even an option for vip/vendor parking offsite - only 2 blocks away. We hope to bring more of our weddings their way as the entire team was a perfect match with our service levels! Thank you to the entire Chicago Theater Works Team!

My fiancé and I were beyond excited to hold our ceremony at Chicago Theater Works. Unfortunately due to the current climate we had to cancel our original plans. Lisa and Bill were extremely understanding and so helpful! With all of the stress surrounding the pandemic they made the process of having to cancel completely stress free. I hope we get to work with them in the future but as far as customer service goes they are incredible.

I seriously don't know where to start! I found Chicago Theater Works on Wedding Wire, even though I have passed this venue so many times! As soon as I saw them on here I knew I had to go check them out. From the moment we walked in I knew it was the one. It's large enough but still feels super homey and intimate, all our guests even commented on this. Bill and Lisa were absolutely fantastic to work with! They were quick to respond to all my questions and ease all my worries! They made sure they day went off without a hitch! Not to mention you couldn't find a better value, the space is beautiful and unique. I simple couldn't recommend a better venue or better people to work with!

Let me start by saying that we were very picky about our venue and wanted very specific aspects for our wedding. Chicago Theater Works delivered on EVERY LEVEL. They were fairly priced, excellent bar package, flexible on our vision and a dream to work with throughout the process. Bill and Lisa are total professionals with a heart. Lisa was so helpful and calming with us and all of our vendors and Bill was just a dream to work with. We wanted a lot of our personal touches and they accommodated with a smile on every request. Additionally, they have great vision and lots of fantastic suggestions. They made the process and most importantly, the day of, a huge success. All of our guests raved about the space and the service Bill and Lisa provided. Our pictures are spectacular and our wedding was just a blast. Seriously the best day of my life. The staff at Chicago Theater Works, Lisa and Bill, provided excellent service and flexibility prior to and during our event. The space is beautiful, and it is conveniently located within walking distance to the Belmont Red Line. If you have a lot of people driving in, Lake Shore Drive is just a few minutes away, and a nearby parking lot can be rented at a reasonable price. (We had few driving, so we did not rent it, but it's worth mentioning.) They have a terrific variety of bar selections, and their premium bar package was the best price I've ever seen per person. The space rental, which is yours for 10 hours as of this writing, is also the most reasonable we found. They do not increase any prices because you are a wedding. I repeat, they do not increase any prices because you are a wedding. As my husband and I planned our wedding, one of the aspects of we liked least was how every venue increased prices 2-6x just because you said wedding. For the service, flexibility, convenience, and price offered by the Chicago Theater Works, I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Wow, Wow, Wow!!! What a treasure this venue is. The pictures don't do it justice. The space is so very flexible and Lisa had such great ideas--we could make it our own style that was both beautiful and comfortable for our diverse families. We had originally thought to have just the wedding reception at CTW, but ended up following Lisa's excellent suggestion to have both the ceremony and the reception there. Being theater folk, they cleverly "flipped the room" so that the aisle with seating on either side, became the dance floor, with lots of room for the dinner tables. The rental time is so long, that we could do both, including set up and take down, without an extra charge. Also, being able to pay for drinks consumed rather than a fee per person was a real financial plus. FINALLY, they have a full kitchen, a great sound system and lighting already in place and had great suggestions for a DJ and catering--both were fun and delicious.

We wanted to keep our wedding simple and fun, and they absolutely made that a reality. The most beautiful space for our wedding reception. They had everything we needed for our wedding. Their bar packages are more than reasonable, and they were very flexible with all of our vendors. This was the perfect venue for us as we wanted to get married in the city while not spending $$$$.

The space has tables, chairs, sound system, bar, lights, private bridal room, and a stage. There is a kitchen and a large prep area. Your caterer will be very pleased. You can easily book an impressive bar package. I can't thank Bill and Lisa enough! They were very kind, fast to respond, and open to all my ideas. Chicago Theater Works helped make our wedding so special and intimate. They went above and beyond to help our wedding go off without a hitch. Lisa and Bill, the owners/managers of the space, were responsive, supportive and very kind. They coordinated with our vendors and worked hard to make sure every detail was taken care of. And the bar. The bar was incredible. They allowed us to create 4 signature cocktails (and even went out and got ginger beer just for us) and then created a complete cocktail list to go along with them. All of our guests raved about the bar and stated it was the best bar experience they’ve had at a wedding. I cannot sign CTW praises enough, and I am so grateful to Lisa and Bill for how hard they worked to make our day so special.

Such a beautiful event space! It's large enough for up to 200 people, but able to still be cozy for a party of 50. The interior is lovely with exposed brick walls and neutral colors, so it's easy to customize the setting and make it exactly how you imagine. Bill is wonderful and so easy to work with and he will do everything he can to make your special day just perfect. The space includes a full bar, kitchen, cozy dressing room, multiple stall restrooms, as well as private ones for the bride & groom. There is also a small front lobby, perfect for guest arrivals & cocktails. The neighborhood is fantastic, super convenient to public transportation and easy to park if you choose to drive. There is also a parking lot available for rent for a reasonable charge. Highly recommend!!!

This venue should be at the top of everyone's list. The owner actually takes his time to get to know you and was super helpful with suggestions. They rest of the staff was always going above and beyond. They were very upfront about pricing and there were no add ons or surprises. Our guests were all impressed and our caterer said it was one of their favorite places to work. Book this place- you won't regret it.

We miraculously booked this venue after our "first choice" cancelled all their reservations for the rest of the year. Even with three months to replan almost everything, Bill and CTW were on top of all our needs and details. Bill met us at the venue on short notice more than once and answered every question in a laundry list of emailed inquiries. Flexible drink package options with total freedom on food, enthusiastic and knowledgeable lighting/sound person and bar staff, incredibly conveniently located, and just a great looking theater space. A countless number of guests couldn't believe it was our "second choice" (because it should have been our first).

Chicago Theater Works was the PERFECT venue. Everything was included, the tables, chairs, linens, staff, all the rooms, kitchen, trash and clean up, and sound system. It was such a smooth and easy process working with Bill. He was friendly and professional from day 1 of planning through the day of the event. They have all the little extra details that make a great party - a dressing room, entryway with fun decor, artsy bar with bar tables, and great decorations already in the space. We didn't even have to bring very much to decorate! It was the epitome of functional meets classy meets midwestern kindness. Bill and the staff we're so friendly to everyone throughout the event. All the guests complemented the space and had an amazing time, as did we!

I hold my brother's wedding after party at this venue a month ago and it was incredible. The place is beautiful! It provides lots of great extras like stage, DJ booth with great sound system and a microphone, tables and chairs, kitchen for catering food, and a very complete bar, and yea.. cleans restrooms and a private room for the grooms, that we used to gain courage for the wedding speech. We had 110 people coming in and it could fit easily a lot more. Bill was very accommodating and reliable. He is very quick to answer and was patient enough to deal with me and my loud family. I felt he took the time and effort to make the evening as special as it was. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who looks for a great affordable neighborhood venue!

This was the perfect venue to host our son's graduation party. We had over 100 people and everyone said they loved the space as well. We appreciated the flexibility we were offered with the way the room was set up and bar options. Additionally, the fact that the staff was able to show a slideshow movie that we created made the night extra special. Bill and the other staff were so wonderful and pleasant to deal with. I attended a fantastic wedding on November 17th at Chicago Theater Works. Such a cool venue to experience a wedding. From the band to the food to the friendly bartenders, a great time was had by all! I understand they do some interactive dinner theater shows there as well. I could see how that would also be a fun night out and hope to catch one in the near future!

Our experience with Chicago Theater Works was wonderful. They have everything that you need for a ceremony and reception. The location has tables, chairs, a bar and a sound system. They included a Bartender and a Stage Manager to make sure that everything went smoothly. It was convenient to have both the reception and ceremony in the same location. Everyone we worked with was helpful and nice.
