Pixie was the coordinator for my Labor Day weekend wedding & she was absolutely fabulous to work with! I chose the month-of-coordination package as I had planned the bulk of my wedding prior to meeting with Kate & Pixie for a consultation. About 6 weeks out from my wedding date, Pixie hit the ground running making sure all my contracts were in order and helped me fill in anything I had not considered since I've never planned a wedding before! She successfully negotiated pricing discrepancies with a couple of my vendors - she even saved us almost $400 on catering (mistakes made by vendor that Pixie caught). My wedding destination was in Streator, IL (near Starved Rock), but Pixie & her assistant were on-site to coordinate the rehearsal and make sure final details were solidified the day before my wedding. My wedding day was absolutely seamless due to Pixie's expertise. She kept my bridal party & I on schedule the entire day - I did not have to think about what was happening next because she was always on top of it. I loved that she sent my bridal party & vendors a reminder email to NOT contact the bride on wedding day - I didn't realize how much this was appreciated until hindsight! There was literally no aspect Pixie had not considered & my wedding was absolutely perfect because of her. In addition, I was able to rent all kinds of odds & ends props for my Great Gatsby themed wedding. Although I did not rent any furniture, I know they have an extensive collection of vintage furniture as well. Chicago Vintage Weddings really is a one stop shop - you will NOT be disappointed! Worth every penny.
About 6 months out from our Chicago wedding, I started waking up in the middle of the night in a panic – what furniture did our venue have again? Where should everything go? Would all of my random DIY ideas go together? Kate to the rescue! Planning a Chicago wedding from Los Angeles wasn’t easy. While I like to think I was a laid back bride who only cared that there was enough booze and good music, I wanted to make sure it looked good too (and that people had a place to sit while enjoying the open bar!) I hired Kate for styling/layout ideas as well as vintage rentals. Kate helped design a lounge area in our cocktail hour that was stylish, comfortable, and affordable. She never pressured me to spend extra and made sure everything was delivered/picked up with ease. I definitely recommend Kate for her great ideas and gorgeous rentals!
Kate was fantastic to work with on our recent wedding. We chose her “Brigitte / Day-of-Coordination” package due in part to our event planning experience as well as our budget. In hindsight, we wish we would have hired Kate for her full planning services as she was incredibly helpful and took away all of the stress we had been feeling for many months of planning on our own before she got involved. Her day-of coordinating actually begins about 5-6 weeks out from the wedding date at which point she met with us to go over all the details we had already planned. From that point on she took over all of the vendor communications which was great so we could focus on the real importance of the day - our love for each other. We got many compliments from our vendors/officiant/family that Kate’s emails were the most detailed they had ever seen. She really does think of everything, including many things that hadn’t even crossed our mind. It’s helpful that she also has a rental side of her business which allowed us to pick up a few decor items that fit in perfectly with our aesthetic. Kate and her assistant were on point throughout the day, ensuring everyone arrived on time and everything was setup according to our vision. Even when the night was winding down, we frequently saw Kate walking around, making sure everything was still running smoothly down to the last minute. We have no idea what we would have done without having Kate involved for our big day. Like I said, if we had to do it all over again (and thank goodness we don’t!), we would’ve hired Kate for her full planning servies. Thank you Kate!
The day after we got married, my (now) husband said, "It's difficult to quantify just how valuable Kate was." Now, he's a man of few words, so the fact that he chose those speaks to our wonderful experience working alongside her. Let's start at the beginning: Once upon a time, I had absolutely no idea what I was doing planning our wedding. I'm also incredibly Type A, really picky, oh, and chronically indecisive--the worst possible combination for wedding planning. Despite that, we wanted to throw a really wonderful event that our families and friends would love as much as we did, and we wanted to honor a budget that kept things reasonable. We also work way too much, so to even have time for laundry felt unrealistic; that said, we were pretty sure planning a wedding would not go well. Then (bugle solo), Kate to the rescue! We couldn't be happier that we found Kate at Chicago Vintage Weddings. We knew that she would help us with the stress of wedding planning, and we were right. She is SO wonderfully organized, and it was such a calming influence to have her cross-checking our decision-making to ensure that we weren't...well...ruining everything. It was also SUCH a huge help having someone to bounce ideas off of or make decisions! Every single decision involves hundreds and hundreds of variables, so to have Kate dramatically reduce those to only the best options for us and guide us through that was unbelievably helpful. Kate also has beautiful taste. I'm aesthetically very picky, and although I didn't want to break the bank, we wanted things to be lovely. With her rentals and aesthetic guidance, she was able to create such a beautiful wedding day, and all without me turning into a stress-induced bridezilla. Kate dramatically reduced our stress and improved everything about our wedding. That's for sure. However, what we didn't expect was for Kate to help so much financially. You'd think that a wedding planner would increase the cost of a wedding, right? Although there is an up-front cost, she was able to help us prioritize, negotiate, and minimize in clever ways we'd never have thought of, and all without compromising how wonderful the wedding was. It was so helpful to have someone there to say, "Nope, that won't make a difference if we say no to that. We don't need it," and to trust that's the case. She ended up spending less than we'd originally budgeted, and all while still making things perfect. I think the best thing about Kate, however, is her unwavering kindness. I must have emailed her a gazillion times, and to say they were "verbose" is probably an understatement. I joked that Kate probably had my face on a dart board because I was bugging her oh-so often. Despite that, Kate was always incredibly patient and kind. She never became frustrated with us or became unresponsive. Instead, she was patient, kind, and helpful, even in those crazy few weeks beforehand when things invariably get bananas. We had such a wonderful wedding that truly was even more wonderful than we'd hoped, and Kate played such a huge part of that. We'd recommend her to anyone searching for a wonderful wedding planner.
Kate was the best decision we made in the wedding planning process! We originally wanted her help designing the ceremony/reception, so we decided on the 'partial planning' package, where Kate would work with 4 vendors in the year leading up to the wedding and transition to full coordination in the month before the wedding. During our first meeting a year before our wedding, Kate created a very organized spreadsheet and went through everything from welcome bags for guests to the budget. She brought up so many things that we'd never even considered! My mom and I knew in that moment that she would be CRITICAL to this wedding. Throughout the planning process, Kate was so organized, thorough and kind. She let me know what I had to do when and kept the process as low-stress as possible. She also has so many great vendor recommendations, so even the parts of the wedding she wasn't officially planning, she had a huge influence on! We also used a handful of rentals from CVW, including champagne coupes, couches and an adorable sweets table. This was a special touch that really made the look of the room. So convenient that CVW offers both planning AND awesome rentals because we didn't have to find yet another vendor. The wedding itself went so smoothly, we almost couldn't believe it. Kate kept everyone and everything organized. Couldn't have asked for a better day and couldn't have done it without Kate! So...if you ever wonder if a wedding planner is worth the cost, the answer is YES. It is the best money you will spend on the wedding, and I couldn't ask for a better planner than Kate!
Kate both coordinated and provided rentals for our wedding this past Sunday (Memorial Day weekend). We found Chicago Vintage Weddings a little over a year ago when we were searching for dishes and other pretty things to rent for our wedding (hoping to keep some of it more environmentally friendly that way, maybe), and we saw Kate also did coordinations services. Since any of the coordination packages also came with a small rental credit, it seemed like a good idea to do both rentals and coordination. Since the coordination began about a month and a half ago, we have been so grateful that we 1) hired a coordinator at all - we were kidding ourselves when we thought this was an optional vendor for our wedding and 2) selected Chicago Vintage Weddings to do the coordination. Kate was awesome and rightfully asked lots of questions I previously pretended did not need answers...like...who is walking Grandma down the aisle? I didn't want to think about that stuff, but I definitely needed to to make sure everything went smoothly on the day of. So many times throughout the coordination month, my partner and I would be walking our dog together and we would just marvel at how much of a good idea it was to hire Kate. We couldn't imagine having to deal with all this wedding stuff without her guidance. The actual wedding day went amazingly, and one of the best parts was Kate making sure we go to enjoy certain moments - she set cocktail appetizers aside for us, and she pulled us inside to get a 'first look' at the set tables. That last part was one of my favorite parts of the wedding (there's a picture on this page now)...the table settings with the linens and dishes and water glasses and the cake all looked so breathtakingly beautiful. It was wonderful! So, Chicago Vintage Weddings killed it with our wedding, and it was a great experience working with Kate!
We hired Kate to rent our pretty candle holders and rent/design our sweets table. As a dessert freak, having an amazing sweets table was very important to me and I knew I needed to make it something special, something like I would have on my own table at home. Enter Kate -- she has such fun perspective and insight, I knew it would be just gorgeous and it was. When I originally went to go talk to her, I was afraid I wouldn't be able to get the look I was going for since so many vintage pieces are very "English Tea Party" and pastel colors. I had a winter wedding with lots of jewel tones and didn't know if I would find what I was looking for! But, Kate knew exactly what our winter wedding needed -- clear glass, mercury, wood, marble -- and it was absolutely beautiful. Thank you, Kate. You have a gift!
We hired Kate for rentals and month-of coordination. She trekked all the way out to the tiny Illinois farm town where we were having our wedding TWICE in order to make our wedding day run like a charm. Not only does she have great taste in vintage china and beautiful wooden chairs, but she made the entire day fly by like a dream. The highest compliment I can give is that I never knew what was going on behind the scenes during my wedding day, because Kate was making everything run so smoothly and taking care of so many little (and big) things. Right after the ceremony, she showed up with two glasses of champagne for me and my husband, and later in the night, she wrangled our hilariously bad DJ into submission by getting him to FINALLY play the 90s throwback tunes we were requesting. You'll love her!
We hired Kate and team for full wedding services and we rented their beautiful collection of items for wedding decor. We are so happy we made the decision to hire CVW from the very beginning of the wedding planning as it helped with budget planning and some important initial decisions. I was too swamped at work to be able to handle all the details of planning, and Kate made it very seamless and stress-free at the beginning to secure key vendors and locations. In particular, one of the vendors almost double-booked our date, but Kate worked with them to figure out the problem and behind the scenes she figured out a solution to ensure we got our venue. She did this without letting me know about the drama until she had a recommendation on a solution. Throughout the wedding planning process, Kate was always professional, extremely responsive, and handled my micro-managing really well (I couldn't let go out all the control!) During the wedding weekend, Kate had everything very well organized, kept me and family calm, executed on all the details, and made it a perfect day for us. I will never forget walking into the reception and thinking just how perfect and how "us" it looked. All of CVW's rentals perfectly captured our style and who we are. There is absolutely no way I could have pulled off such a perfect day without CVW. I would highly recommend working with CVW for full-planning and for rentals. Thanks again, Kate!
I worked with Kate and CVW to plan our September 2016 wedding. Work keeps me busy and traveling several days per week, so I needed to turn to someone who could take the lead and help pull together a wedding event at a venue that required us to choose all of the vendors, plan every single decoration, etc. After coming across some beautiful posts on Facebook of weddings done by Chicago Vintage Weddings, I landed on the CVW website and immediately fell in love. After speaking with Kate (owner) I knew I had found the right person - Kate brings the best combination of organization, creativity, professionalism, and "good planning vibes" to the table. I ended up contracting with CVW to do creative services on day-of paper goods, floral, and some venue decorations, as well as day-of coordination - and could not be happier. As a bride who (hopefully!) gets married once, it's hard to know how things will turn out on your big day, or what the "best" choice is given the sea of options out there and the myriad of vendors - but Kate helped us navigate it all. I am not a typical bride who gets excited with wedding stuff...but I have to say with sincere gratitude and excitement that thanks to Kate, our wedding outcome was beyond expectation - we never could have created something as awesome and truly "us" as she did.
We booked Chicago Vintage Weddings for rentals for our weddings. We loved working with Kate! She was so sweet, helpful, and prompt when replying to emails. From start to finish, Kate made this process so easy! We made many changes to our order, and not once did Kate feel like we were a bother. We really appreciated that! Her recommendations in completing our vision were spot on! Prices were fair and worked well within our budget. If we have another event, we would not hesitate to use Chicago Vintage Weddings again. Thanks for everything, Kate!
We booked Chicago Vintage Weddings as our day of coordinators for our wedding at Holy Name Cathedral/Marriott Mag Mile in June of last year. Kate and team were fantastic! Kate was easy to work with and made the wedding day much more stress-free than it would have been without CVW. Very glad we used them and would recommend to anyone!
We used CVW for rentals and coordination. Kate and team was absolutely wonderful to work with. They really made our event amazing - so much so, that days after the wedding, family and friends texted and called to tell us how fun and amazing our wedding was. CVW made sure everything ran smoothly and really made our wedding plan come to life. They made it so we could enjoy our wedding rather than stress about the details of making it all come together. Hiring Kate and team was easily the best money we spent for our wedding.
We booked Kate as our day of coordinator for our wedding at the Palmer House on August 1st and she was by far the best decision we made throughout our planning! She was extremely easy to talk to and completely understood everything we wanted to do and was genuinely excited by all of our ideas! Kate was so good, she even gave us suggestions that were better than what we were originally thinking. We were always on the same page and she really helped my husband and I get and stay organized. She was incredibly professional from our first meeting to our last and even helped us organize a few surprises at our reception. I can't imagine working with anyone better! Thanks again Kate!
