Selecting Children's Museum as our venue was the best decision we made for our wedding. We had the best possible experience at every step of the planning process! Ryan Ting and his colleagues were absolutely the best to work with. From day one, Ryan was so attentive and answered all of our many questions, he went above and beyond in so many ways to ensure that our day went super smoothly from allowing us to store our rental items several days ahead to help accommodate another vendor's schedule, to giving us extra space to use, and making sure set up was a total breeze. Ryan is so professional, responsive, and also just genuinely cares about the couples he works with. This venue was also so affordable compared to the other options we looked at and the event spaces we used including the Skyline Gallery, Art Studio, and downstairs patio were amazing and photographed beautifully. We had so many guests (and our photographer!) comment about how awesome and unique the venue was and how it was one of the most unforgettable weddings they had been to. I cannot thank Children's Museum enough for all they did to make our event wonderful!
I've broken this down into three parts important to our experience, which was incredible:
1) The Staff: From start to finish, Ryan Ting and the staff at the museum were incredible to work with. Before touring the museum we had been through a parade of cookie-cutter all-inclusive venues that also went out of their way to say how "comfortable" they were with working with gay couples. Then we came to the museum and we experienced being celebrated rather than tolerated. Ryan was incredibly accommodating to our needs and excited to have us there. He even suggested our eventual ceremony site! Ryan also accommodated us for multiple walk-throughs in the run up to the wedding day. While we did hire a day-of coordinator for the wedding, Ryan and the museum staff actually stepped up in a big way to handle a ton of the logistics both on the day-of and in the days before. Ryan and his team were nothing short of amazing to us on the wedding day. Every single person we encountered was incredibly kind and helpful. They helped direct our guests, no small feat for a 300-person wedding. We've had several friends and family rave about the staff as well.
2) The Space: The Children's Museum is a wonderfully unique venue, which was a great departure from the generic venues we toured. Our reception was in the outdoor plaza and Joy Park, while the ceremony was in front of Adventure Forest, the museum's new rope course, which is also a really cool art installation. We turned around our ceremony plans so it could be in front of Adventure Forest. You'd be hard pressed to find a more unique backdrop. Both my fiance and I grew up in northwest Denver, and we both went to the museum as children. It made the space all the more meaningful for our wedding day. With views of Elitch's, downtown, and the Broncos' stadium, this spot really captures all of iconic Denver. Our photos, both outside and inside the museum, were incredible! There was no need for us to pose in front of a generic fountain or other manufactured background. There wasn't much need for us to decorate or "cover up" anything because the entire space is already beautiful and unique.
3) The Big Day: We took photos inside the museum before the ceremony, which was even cooler than we had envisioned. Two words: Bubble Room. The staff was also incredibly helpful getting everything set up before hand, and helped move things inside once it started drizzling later in the evening. There was a room upstairs for us and the wedding party to get ready, change, and decompress after the ceremony, which was invaluable to us. Outside that room the balcony was lit with permanent string lights and provided amazing views of the reception area below and downtown from the west. We took our post-wedding family photos there and they turned out great. Again, so many of the logistics the day of that could be a problem were handled by Ryan and the staff. The space is quite versatile and can be set up any number of ways depending on what you're looking for. That was huge for us given our large and pretty over-the-top wedding!
Again, we can't praise the museum's incredible staff enough and we were totally thrilled with the venue. Our wedding was definitely one for the history books thanks to the great people at The Children's Museum.
Ryan Ting and his staff were absolutely wonderful! They had everything set up and ready to go exactly how we wanted it. Our friends and family had a great time.
Ryan was willing to work with us every step of the way. He answered all our questions within a few hours. I couldn't imagine a better experience.
This is such a great space. We have some fun pictures with all the cool little features the museum has as well as ones with the Denver skyline sparkling in the background. We rented a couple of the exhibits for our guests, and I think it made the night that much more memorable.
