Chris took our elopement photos in Maui. He was a pleasure to work with from the very beginning. He has an upbeat, positive attitude and really takes any nerves away from the process. He's also really funny. He helped us get into the poses that made for perfect moments and also captured sweet, organic moments between us. Chris was great to work with! He was on time, flexible once he arrived. He also photographed our rehearsal dinner. We love our pictures, especially our sunset beach photos! I can’t say enough great things about Chris! I am just so grateful and lucky that he was our wedding photographer and the one who captured all the amazing moments. Right from the bat, Chris showed up early on the day with his second shooter Reise and brought great energy! They did all the setup to shoot us getting ready and were very flexible as I changed to three different outfits throughout the day. Choosing Chris as our wedding photographer elevated what was already the best day of our lives into an exquisite, unforgettable masterpiece. His photos are absolutely breathtaking; he captured who we are at our very best, with jaw-droppingly gorgeous backdrops, poses, and that je ne sais quoi of a true artist’s work. His photos belong on the glossy pages of high fashion magazines; I am continually overwhelmed that I would be featured in them. The photos he took of our wedding are our most prized possessions. When we posted them on social media, we were floored by the overwhelming response and continually told that they were the best wedding photographs our friends and family had ever seen. In addition to producing the most gorgeous shots we have ever seen, Chris is an absolute joy to work with. He is high energy and upbeat, but he makes you feel comfortable and at ease. You feel as though you’ve nailed every shot, because unlike some photographers he does not force anything, correct you, or micromanage. He also makes you comfortable to try shots you would otherwise balk at-- he took many “fierce” high fashion style photos of us that we originally thought we’d never be able to pull off, but ended up being among our very favorites. His experience and expertise shows when with just a few words, he elicits the most unbelievable shots. Even if he hadn’t have given us the stunning photos in the world, I would have been so happy to have had him at our wedding day. He is always fun, complimentary, and dressed to the nines (matching your dress code of course). So many wedding guests told us that he was the best photographer they had ever seen. He has outstanding professionalism, kindness in your every interaction, eagerness to go above and beyond the call of duty, and he returned a simply staggering amount of photos within days of the wedding. When I mentioned who our photographer was to each of our wedding vendors in the area, they all affirmed what a wonderful choice we had made. Chris has a fantastic reputation. Maybe too good-- after working with him, my bridesmaids and engaged guests are now having trouble choosing a photographer in our hometown of Seattle, because they say that no photographer’s portfolio comes even close to the work Chris did at our wedding. Choosing Chris will be the absolute best decision for your wedding. I wish I could rate him higher than this website allows!

The longer review: After choosing Haiku Mill as our venue in Maui, Chris was the first vendor my husband and I booked for our wedding on June 20th. We were impressed by the elegance and beauty of Chris’ images and knew we had to go with him. Our wedding coordinator advised us that photographers (and especially those on Maui) book up quickly so we secured our date about a year out. During the time leading up to our wedding, I followed Chris on social media and continued to be impressed by his work. On the day of our wedding, we had so much fun working with him. How could we not? He’s easygoing and we shared quite a few laughs together. Our wedding day was absolutely perfect and Chris was part of that. While it was important to have beautiful images that we will cherish forever, it was equally as important to have someone as engaging, passionate and enthusiastic as him. Chris delivered on all fronts. After the wedding, we received a teaser image less than 24 hours later and a large preview gallery a few hours after that (which was amazing! How many wedding photographers do that?). Thanks once again Chris for being a one-of-a-kind photographer and person…we loved working with you!

Chris was fantastic to work with and got some amazing shots of our wedding. I really appreciated the both the quality of the output, and the efficiency during the process-- he swooped in, gave very clear and direct instructions, and had us done within a few minutes so it never felt like it was taking away time from the rest of the fun. The directions he gave also really helped a lot; but the candid shots came out great too!

Wow where do I start... working with Chris was one of the highlights of our wedding day. He is so funny, charming and most importantly knows how to direct and capture great shots. I am an awkward photo taker and I wanted those beautiful wedding shots, Chris was amazing at directing me and telling me little shifts to make in my facial expression, posture, where to look. He has incredible attention to detail (ie one of our groomsmen had stuff in his pockets and Chris had him empty it out... I know that sounds silly but those little things matter in photos). My husband hates posing for photos and Chris was able to put him at ease and help with his posture, hand placement etc.; those photos of him and his groomsmen came out incredible. We will cherish these photos forever. Best of all, Chris sent us our teaser pictures within a couple of days and we are so obsessed with all of the photos so far. Our families are all raving about how beautiful they came out. Don't hesitate to book Chris for your big day, he is truly a gem.

Chris Evans made my photography dreams come true and more! I instantly fell in love with his style when searching for a wedding photographer. I loved how elegant and graceful he made all of his brides and grooms look, and there is a magical touch to all of his photos. We were blown away at how beautiful his shots come out from our wedding - he and his team truly captured the beauty of the island of Maui and captured moments and memories of our wedding to last forever. My now husband and I got married in Maui at the Four Seasons this April. From the minute we booked our wedding, I knew I wanted Chris Evans and his team to be our photographers and videographer. I had seen his work and fell in love with it. When our day came and we met Chris and his team (“D” and “G”), I immediately felt relaxed and comfortable. They made it feel as if I had known them for years. Not only are they professional, passionate about what they do, they are also incredibly fun to work with. We had a great time taking our photos. I use the term photos very lightly. Chris and his team create art. They are naturals with the camera and make you feel like you’ve been modeling for the camera your entire life. What can I say? I have to be honest. I had no idea who Chris J. Evans was up until the day of the wedding. I was buried with work for the last two weeks before and didn’t have time to do my due diligence regarding his work. My fiancée’, now my wife, said that we have to get Chris because his work is amazing and exactly what I want. Knowing my wife’s taste, I figured he would be good. Wow, was I in for a surprise! When I first met Chris, I was really nervous, excited, etc. He came up to me with this big wide smile and introduced himself. He asked me if I was ready and I just looked at him. He said, you are more than ready, you were born ready. I had to chuckle. He was funny, full of energy and very charismatic. He had this Magical way of making everyone feel at ease, which resulted in the biggest most natural smile ever. He would look at you and say, “laugh hysterically” and you’d laugh crazily. He would then say, “look at me and laugh at me hysterically.” I never had a photographer use this approach, but when I saw the proofs it was amazing how everyone had a big, happy, natural looking smile. I personally do not like having my picture taken by anyone. I’m very critical of myself and always look like I have a fake or forced smile. When I saw the pictures, there wasn’t one that I didn’t like. My smile and everyone else’s smile were so natural looking. Chris’s smile and energy were contagious. He was always running around to get in the best position possible for natural shots. For the stage shots, he was so good at positioning everyone from head to toe. I’ve never worked with a photographer like Chris. Most wedding photographers that I’ve encountered have been more behind the scene and only came out for group photos. Chris was in our face and around us at all times. I mean that in a great way. He was right there for every important moment. I couldn’t believe it. I kept saying, “Honey, this guy is amazing.” We had sunset pictures taken on the beach and when I saw the first proof of them, I couldn’t believe it. He captured everything in perfect form including the sunset and the clouds in the sky. They were stunning, magical. His work is very professional, high quality and full of magic, which is all part of his charisma. Our wedding day was flawless and now we have the best pictures that will remind us every day of how great it was.

WOW! Chris and his team truly blew us away. Doing a destination wedding in Maui we didnt exactly know who to pick, but our wedding planner led us to Chris and we could NOT be happier she did. I worked with Chris for my wedding in Four Seasons Maui and I have to Give him ultimate FIVE STAR review. He has an excellent team and they are all professionals. At all the time he is supervising all of them to make sure all moments are captured. He showed up early for my wedding day and just started shooting. He is very friendly, funny, patient and pays attentions to your body poses and postures. Him being funny helped me to be less nervous for our First Look cause he was just making me laugh. He even brought small lights to light up my shoes, and ring on the table for the pictures which i thought was amazing and made them look super sparkly. All my guest liked him and his team as well which was very important to my husband and I. We Highly recommend him and he is must to have on your special day!

I was the groom and hate having my picture taken. Chris made the process very light, easy, and fun to have our pictures taken. I dare say I even had fun doing it!

Chris and his team were fantastic. I was not too excited about the idea of having to take a bunch of pictures, but Chris made it so fun and did a phenomenal job. He also sent my wife and I a preview of 75 pictures 2 days after the wedding. Of course, the pictures looked amazing! I could not recommend Chris highly enough. I didn't think that I really cared about our photographer until I met Chris. You will not regret booking him!

Chris and Dane(his assistant) did such an amazing job photographing our wedding day! My husband(Mitch) and I got ready in separate rooms for the morning and afternoon, so I had Chris shoot the getting ready shots, and Dane shot Mitch's getting ready shots. Mitch said he really liked Dane and I couldn't be happier with how their photos turned out. He posted the guys so we'll, such frame worthy photos! While I was getting ready with my ladies, Chris was capturing my beauty moments, my jewlery and details, and then came time for me in my dress! I am not someone who takes photos that well. I have one pose and the same smile/ head tilt for ever photo I have ever taken. I told Chris ahead of time he will have to help a bit and told him my "good side" is my left (which he kept in mind for the rest of the day)haha. He made everyone feel so comfortable and like we were all having fun. He helped/directed me with ease into the most stunning poses in my dress and the rest of the day! One of my favorite things while getting ready was the view I had! And without even telling Chris, he captured the image I still have in my mind of the beautiful ocean and my ceremony being set up below us. He made sure to tell me a head of time where he wanted me to look, and what to do when we were coming down the isle to get that "money shot" of the most celebratory "we just got married" photo. Afterwards was family photos and then the night went on as planned. Within a day we had four of some of the best photos sent to us as "teasers". And then more a day after our second day shoot. I HIGHLY recommend the second day shoot!!! We picked two days after, which I would suggest if you can, so you have the next day to relax and recouped from your wedding. We decided on the second day shoot package so we could have more time with our guests, and get more beautiful photos like the ones he has on his Instagram! One of my favorite things of our whole wedding week in Hawaii was this shoot with just Chris and my husband! It was time we had to our selves and he got to capture the best photos we have ever taken! Chris picked the location, beautiful cliff/rock formations with the powerful ocean sprays in the background, two huge sea turtles floating near by, and to finish it off, our epic dancing into the sunset photo. It was truly special. I could not thank Chris enough for making our wedding so memorable, and making us feel and look amazing!

Chris and his team were AWESOME! From the rehearsal dinner, and throughout the entire wedding day, they captured every magical moment we could have ever dreamt of! Chris is by far one of the most talented wedding photographers we've seen and we were so honored to have him capture our wedding! From the get go, we knew we would splurge a little on our photographer and videographer because once the wedding was over, that is what we would have to remember and relive this special day. Our wedding planner (Tropical Maui Weddings) gave us a list of highly qualified photographers but Chris' work really stood out to us because of his ability to capture both simple, elegant moments in soft light and dramatic, beautiful moments at dusk. This alone, made the decision easy (not mention is glowing reviews)! The day of the wedding he brought his assistant Nick. We were nervous because we didn't get to do an engagement shoot or meet Chris and his team before our actual wedding day so felt it could be awkward having a stranger capture such intimate moments on such an important today. Once we met Chris and Nick all of those fears vanished. They just have a presence about them that immediately put everyone at ease but also got everyone so excited for the day to come. I would say this is what truly made him stand out from any other photographer we've met. I had told them that my husband will likely struggle with having to take pictures for hours that day (as many grooms do) and he was so attentive to that, helping encourage him throughout the day and telling jokes to keep things light hearted. At the end of the day, my husband agreed, Chris and Nick were worth every penny! The positive energy Chris brings, his ability to make his clients feel at ease (especially after just meeting them), his humor that keeps you laughing throughout what is usually a very long, tiring day are all just the icing on the cake. He has such a passion and eye for his craft that he truly strives to master. Also, he had teasers out to us 3 days after the wedding, which I thought was incredible! We could not be happier with how smooth the day went and how beautiful our pictures turned out! We had our destination wedding just a week ago on Maui, we were a bit nervous prior to it because everything was planned remotely, but it turned out beyond perfect. Thanks to Chris, who is extremely professional and his entire crew were super friendly to work with and chill with all the guests. Chris reached out before our trip to chat about the vibe we were looking for. On the day of, Chris and his team arrived punctually, started shooting the dresses, rings and the venue while we were getting ready, then the whole day went very organized just as we’ve discussed before and efficient; there’s nothing more important than that, because we did have a tight timeline and we wished to capture the most of our big day. We wanted someone with experience photographing at our venue Haiku mill and Chris is exactly who we looked for. He is very talented with unique ideas of where to take shots and in combination of lighting at different times of the day, we got many shots that are both sweet and elegant which fits the venue very well. His night shots are also magnificant, I wish we could have more night portraits. My husband and I are not the most photogenic couple, but Chris made us comfortable in front of the camera and guided us with poses that were simple for us yet with great angles, we got some very stylish and fashioned shots like cover photos. The preview of pictures were ready before the end of our trip so we could share with our family and friends immediatly after the wedding. We were lucky to have Chris to be our memory keeper, the day was productive with photography and filming, not one minute wasted. I would recommend him to anyone who looks for creativity, artistic style and a special experience. We can’t wait to see the rest of the pictures and video.

Chris exceeded all our expectations. After carefully reviewing several possibilities we chose Chris to shoot both photography and video for our wedding at Haiku Mill. We were not disappointed. Our initial decision was based on his previous work, he seemed creative and interesting, more than just capturing the same old the pictures we are all accustomed to. We are not the most photogenic and thought we might require his direction, I’m honestly never again going to look as good as I do in one of Chris’ pictures. And while he certainly fulfilled all expectations and criteria for which we had selected him, my recommendation for Chris goes beyond this. Your wedding is a special day and photography/videography should be chosen with that in mind, it is one of the most important decisions you will make for your wedding. Chris really insisted to meet us before the actual day, he wanted to get a chance to know us. He is really a people person, and while professionally he is amazing, what really sets him apart is his ability to blend into your day, to connect with bride, groom, wedding party, all guests and to really make your day special. I just don’t think you are going to get that type of feeling with all photographers, it’s not just business with Chris, he wants to make sure it’s one of the most memorable days of your life and you can tell he feels personally responsible in that. He won’t let you down. He showed up early, brought an outstanding crew, shot longer than he was supposed to, had a detailed plan and timeline of pictures we could take and delivered more preview pics in a faster time frame than he promised. Thank you very much Chris for helping make Sep 18th such a special day for us, memories to last a lifetime. Can’t wait to get the videos and full gallery.

Words cannot express how appreciative and thankful we are to have had Chris photograph our wedding in Maui. His portfolio, filled with high-fashion, dramatic shots, caught our eye from the beginning. Chris is incredibly original in his style. He is engaging and professional, making for a very easy-going and fun experience. He brings a level of creativity to wedding photography that we had never seen before, nor imagined was even an option. Chris was very punctual and made great use of every moment he was on site. From the pre-ceremony shots, detail documentation, ceremony, family shots, reception cake, dinner, and a spectacular waterfront sunset shoot of just the two of us, Chris captured it all…and then some! We are forever grateful for the small moments throughout the day that he was able to capture. With everything going on, we would have never been able to see them otherwise. We are not the most comfortable couple in front of a camera, but Chris was able to create an environment where we were both relaxed. He always had a vision for what he wanted out of each shot, and was able to clearly communicate what he wanted us to do to make those visions come to life. His work speaks for itself – the effects he achieves with strategic positioning and lighting are breathtaking, and look effortless. You can tell how experienced Chris is by how well he can blend right into the event. When we were finished taking sunset shots, we hardly notice he was still there, getting great material well through the night. Besides how easy Chris made the actual wedding day for us, we greatly appreciated that in less than a week he had an entire preview package with a ton of shots for us to see and share with our friends and family. Since our wedding was far from home, all of our friends and family who were unable to make it have been able to feel as though they were there through Chris’s photographs. All of his work has brought so much love and happiness back home. We honestly can say there were no drawbacks in working with Chris and would recommend him to anyone seeking a very professional and uniquely creative photographer for any event.
