tant to us. My husband and I are generally uncomfortable with having our pictures taken, but he made everything that day easy. We were from out of town and were unfamiliar with the area, and he was able to direct us to great locations in and around our venue to take our posed shots. He was excellent about corralling people for our family pictures and kept everything right on schedule. He also found convenient places nearby so we could step out of the reception briefly to get some sunset pictures later in the night. He was constantly moving around looking for shots throughout the night and was able to get a wonderful range of candids that show how much fun everyone was having. He had the photos back to us more quickly than expected, and the quality was fantastic. Compared to the price of other vendors we looked at, we feel we more than got our money’s worth. Chris was very professional and enthusiastic, and a lot of fun to work with. We’d definitely recommend him to others.

Not only that but he was always sneaking photos of the kiddos rocking it out on the dance floor, or us greeting guests throughout the night. He was more than accomodating getting a group shot of our families (70+ people in one photos) and he was so easy going the entire night. We were sent 5-7 preview photos before we even woke up the day after the wedding. I absolutely cannot wait to see the entire album, but i am 100% confident giving him 5 stars before even receiving the photos!

He was very easy going, had many ideas for poses. Made my husband and myself feel extremely comfortable and confident with shooting. He has experience with MANY venues. ographer. He really made our special day that much more special. During our initial conversation before he was hired, Chris impressed us with his keen knowledge of professional-level photography. He also clearly understands the differences between shooting outdoors and indoors - and it showed in the finished product. We were also happy that Chris had experience shooting in the particular wedding ceremony venue we had selected. Before Kim and I traveled out to Kalamazoo, MI from our Appleton, WI home for our wedding weekend, we had a post-hiring phone meeting with Chris where we discussed the wedding itinerary with him. He asked detailed questions about our plans and the timing of those plans. Our answers allowed him to craft a photography plan that would maximize the number of good pictures he could take with the available daylight. Since our ceremony was not going to start until 4:00PM on winter Saturday afternoon, he suggested that we do the "first look" and wedding party photos before the ceremony, because after the ceremony there would be insufficient daylight to do those shots outdoors. I asked Chris to photograph our wedding rehearsal. Since I have never been married before, I was unaware that this was an unusual request. He asked me what I was looking for and I told him I just wanted as many candids of the wedding party as possible. Those photos turned out amazing, even though Chris would probably tell you that it wasn't really a difficult assignment. About a week after our wedding, we received the "sneak-peek" photos. They were spectacular. But we were really blown away when the final, full portfolio was released about six weeks after our wedding. The photos were made available to us via a professional photography delivery website. There are at least 350 photos in that portfolio that were culled from several thousand raw photos taken by Chris and Eric the day before the wedding (the rehearsal) and on our wedding day (10 hours of shooting; the ceremony and the reception). The package price included full end-user rights to all of the photos. We just sent out a printed QR-codes to all of our thank you card recipients that leads to our wedding photo website. From there, anyone can download the full-resolution version of any photo in the gallery just by clicking on it. One of the most impressive aspects of Chris' services is that he is able to deliver absolute top-quality photos while keeping a low profile, except when he needed to assert himself - as when arranging posed shots. Taking great photos while minimizing his own footprint on the proceedings is the hallmark of a top-notch wedding photographer. And Christopher Deau certainly is top-notch. We would recommend him to anyone who asks.

We loved Chris's candid style, and after speaking with him and hearing about how he became a photographer and what it means to him to capture these kinds of moments, we were sold - and we're so glad we chose him! He's fun, kind, and managed to make the whole process stress-free. We loved seeing him get really excited for an off-the-cuff idea for a shot and then seeing the results. We couldn't be everywhere at once, but Chris managed to capture moments featuring almost every single one of our guests (in spite of the large venue and grounds, which had everyone pretty well spread out), which was so fun to look back on. The final product was exactly what we were hoping for: a healthy mix of posed and candid shots that really captured who we are as people and as a couple. The turnaround time for receiving our photos was also fairly quick considering how many photos he took/we received. 10/10 would absolutely use Christopher Deau Photography for any event again.

We first met Christopher during our engagement session and he made us feel at easy and comfortable as we were nervous because we are not the picture taking type. This followed into our wedding day. Christopher was always fast at communication leading up to the day then was on point the whole day! His second shooter that was working with him was also amazing and so sweet, she helped so much with a lot of the small details.
