ad the potential to explode our budget, which we had already exceeded. We consulted a few florists, but some of them had minimum dollar amounts for delivery and installation — far above what we were able to spend.
Enter Chris Johnson. We found his information and had a good feeling. We reached out to him, spoke on the phone, discussed our specific vision and aesthetic, and scheduled a visit. Chris actually came out, showed us a few magnificent purple orchids he had in mind, and demonstrated some of the floral wire techniques he thought would complement our unique, avant-garde aesthetic. And on top of all of this, his estimate was extremely reasonable. We had originally considered skipping flowers entirely, but with what Chris offered, we couldn’t pass it up.
The day of the wedding came. Chris arrived early, as promised. He singlehandedly created and installed his arrangements on our arch, and then set to designing and arranging 11 different floral bouquets — a new one for each table because every table had a unique 3D-printed vase.
Chris’s work was magnificent. At the end of the night, when the wedding was over and we announced that the vases and the floral arrangements were the party favors, our guests ravenously snatched them all up. We only got to keep a few of them. The flowers may be long gone, but our photos and memories of them will live on forever.
