Christy made the process of hiring her personalized by giving us the opportunity to speak over the phone. During this hour long conversation, I learned alot about Christy’s experience and she learned alot about my now husband and I. She was inquisitive and showed passion for learning more about our relationship, our wedding planning, and our future! She even gave my marital advice the moment she could tell I was facing stress in the planning process with family strain. Second, my husband and I met with Christy as a Panera before our wedding day and spent several hours getting to know her, her getting to know us, and feeling as though we have a mini-premarital counseling before our wedding day. We could tell how much this process means to her and how much she cares for the couples she marries! Because Christ has had prior wedding planning experience, she knows how to organize the ceremony in the most efficient manner and had great tips for including junior bridesmaids/groomsman in the ceremony itself. Because my father has passed, she gave us great advice on how to handle my brother walking me down the aisle, and having my now husband meet us part way to exchange my hand to his. Thirdly, Christy ran our rehearsal smoothly and the wedding day ceremony itself was amazing! Christy spoke about each of our love stories and how we ended up there. She made our guests feel filled with love and hope, while also getting a few laughs in there as well. Christy was professional in both her demeanor and dress. I am thankful for Christy! She is a true blessing!

Christy herself was a calming presence on the day and during the planning process, and we never worried once about how things would go. I can't recommend her enough!!

en to a LOT of weddings this year. She gave us both a detailed questionnaire that we answered separately, then incorporated our answers into a custom-made ceremony. She gave us the perfect number of options to choose from without being overwhelming, and we ended up writing our own vows based on some of the templates and ideas she provided. You can tell she truly loves helping people get married, and this infectious positive energy seeps into everything she does.

on. Not only was she quick to respond to my request, but I think we initially talked on the phone for 45 minutes. She asked questions about me, my fiancé and our relationship. She then walked me through the process of shaping the wedding vows and ring exchange, in addition to a simple questionnaire she sent out to me and my fiancé. It included questions like “when you first met, what did you think to yourself, “what was your favorite day together”, etc. These questions were fun, as they gave us time to reflect on our time together. We both filled them out and emailed them to Christy separately to use as part of the ceremony. Once it came time for the big day, we really had no idea what Christy had written in her speech (other than the vow and ring exchange we decided on). I was honestly so excited to hear this for the first time. She certainly had us laughing by the responses we gave for each other. She didn’t simply just read the questions and answers, but took the time to craft a nice speech that flowed beautifully. I for some reason thought the ceremony was going to be short and sweet, but it was the perfect amount of time and oh, so sweet! It was honestly my favorite part of the entire wedding! Everyone in the Richmond area looking for an Officiant for their wedding should certainly consider Christy Harman Weddings.
