Chrystal Nause Photography

throughout our wedding weekend, from Friday afternoon to Sunday morning, and while she and her assistant Amanda Urbanski were always present, they were often working so subtly behind the scenes that many in our wedding party forgot they were taking pictures - this led to so many great candid shots that we loved, both during the rehearsal and the reception! Chrystal also made our wedding party shots just awesome on every level - I'm not someone who gets her picture taken on a regular basis, and Chrystal made me feel like a rock star/supermodel that day. We had a late-afternoon/early-evening wedding, so my groom and I had a "reveal" early in the afternoon (one of my favorite moments of the day, which Chrystal captured beautifully) with his photo shoot prior to the reveal and my photo shoot afterward, ending in our photo shoot an hour or so before the ceremony. It was a long afternoon, but it was completely comfortable, largely because Chrystal and Amanda were so laid-back and easy-going even as they kept us all on schedule - their attitude set the tone for the entire experience. During the afternoon, Chrystal had great ideas for shots, but she was also open to any and all suggestions from me and my groom; his pics with his groomsmen were hysterical (my Ryan is quite the ham, and his friends are all goofballs), but they were also so handsomely shot that it was difficult to choose a favorite, while my pics with my bridesmaids were gorgeous. My favorite photo shoot, though, hands-down, was the one featuring Ryan and me together; it sounds cliché, I know, but it was kind of magical: he was so handsome, and I felt so beautiful, and we were just ridiculously in love. Cheesy, yes, but true. It resulted in some of my favorite pics from the whole day, reception included! (I think one of these is in Chrystal's online portfolio, actually, which also makes me happy!) Our ceremony and reception were both held in a room that we loved but was something of an odd space with strange lighting for photography - regardless, Chrystal and Amanda worked tirelessly throughout the evening to get some amazing shots. One of my favorites is a shot of the crowd during a slow dance; Ryan and I aren't in that particular picture (we were dancing off to the side), but so many of our friends and family are all dancing with their significant others, and it is just perfect, the kind of spontaneous moment that no one can really see unless a great photographer captures it. I know that if you spend any time looking at Chrystal's portfolio, you'll see her talent and her love for what she does. Hiring her to photograph your wedding might be the best decision you can make to ensure that every wonderful moment of the experience will be yours to treasure forever!
