Chuckanut Bay Distillery is quintessential old-meets-new: a modern wedding venue in a historic 20,000-square-foot building in the heart of beautiful downtown Bellingham, WA. This fully renovated location features a large-scale production facility, tasting room, restaurant, bar, rooftop lounge, and grand ballroom for wedding ceremonies, receptions, and celebrations of all kinds.
Matt Howell and Kelly Andrews, the owners of Chuckanut Bay Distillery, share a deep passion for premium spirits and beautiful historic buildings. Since starting the business in 2011, they have won national and international awards for their distilled spirits and completely renovated their historic downtown location, which includes a 4,200 square foot Ballroom with capacity to accommodate up to 300 guests cocktail style, 240 reception only, and 160 for ceremony and reception. With an open floor plan bathed in natural light from a wall of windows, this enchanting space is reminiscent of ballrooms of a bygone era, with hints of our distinct Chuckanut Bay Distillery aesthetic. In addition to the Ballroom, the venue has multiple spaces for couples to utilize on their special day, including a private bridal suite and a rooftop bar with an expansive view of the city skyline and Bellingham Bay.
Chuckanut Bay Distillery offers full-service catering, with several exquisite menus to appeal to all tastes and budgets. The talented culinary team will create dazzling presentations for an evening of dining and revelry that won't soon be forgotten. Chuckanut Bay Distillery also offers delicious cocktails made from in-house crafted spirits and a wide selection of beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages. Suzanne is everything you could hope for in a venue coordinator—responsive, organized, kind, and so thoughtful. She anticipated our needs before we even knew to ask and was genuinely excited about helping us bring our vision to life. Every email, every walkthrough, every tiny detail—we always felt supported and in capable hands. Even as our wedding day approached and the usual chaos set in, Suzanne was a calm and steady presence.
The space itself is stunning. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about the exposed beams, rooftop views, moody lighting, and unique setting that made the ceremony and reception feel so intimate and magical. It’s also incredibly flexible—perfect for bringing what you want to life. I was able to get ready at the venue, have the ceremony, reception, and a cocktail hour all in one space making it such a smooth wedding.
We can’t recommend Chuckanut Bay Distillery enough—and if you’re lucky enough to work with Suzanne, know you’re in the best hands possible.

We had a small hiccup and they went above and beyond to find creative solutions to make the event work perfectly - the night exceeded expectations! The food and drinks were delicious.
