I loved the experience of wedding dress shopping at Church Street Bridal. My mom and my matron of honor accompanied me. Our sales assistant was so helpful and with each dress I tried she provided examples of how it could be altered, etc. She never tried to influence my decision but was just so helpful. I loved the options and the price point was well-aligned with my budget. And knowing that the proceeds go to such a great cause was even more incentive to want to find my dress there. I found one and it was beautiful. Perfect for me. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thank you!
Church Street Bridal is an amazing place to get a wedding dress! The staff members were so helpful and friendly. It was completely non-judgmental and I didn’t feel rushed at all trying on dresses or making decisions. My stylist, Blair, was very supportive and offered great insight and suggestions. I liked how I was able to go to the rack and pick for myself which dresses I was interested in trying on, but also if I needed suggestions I could ask for additional help in picking something. The selection is beautiful and unique and I’m so happy with the dress I picked! The mission of Church Street Bridal is also amazing and huge reason why I was adamant about getting a dress here. They’re great people with great values, I can’t recommend them enough!!
I absolutely adored my dress. It fit my wedding theme, my personality, and even my tattoos! I love Church Street Bridal because the prices can’t be beat and the proceeds go to helping women in domestic violence which hits very close to my heart. I will forever love the dress that made my day extra special. Highly recommend looking at Church Street Bridal before paying way too much at a typical retail store!
Such a great experience and got my dress at such an affordable price! The staff was so kind and I love that this shop gives back so much to fight against domestic violence!
I went to their other location first, which is smaller, but I still fell in love with a dress there and I decided to make it my reception dress! Then I went to this location and found my ceremony dress! I did not ever plan on having 2 dresses for my wedding day, but their dresses are so beautiful and affordable, that they really make it possible. I am so glad that my friend told me about this hidden gem!
I was referred by two friends of mine that got their wedding gowns from Church Street Bridal, so I had to make an appointment! The very first dress I tried on - a stunning illusion back sheath dress by Maggie Sottero - was THE ONE! The ladies at the shop were very attentive and fun to work with. They made sure that me, my mom, MOH, and future MIL were well taken care of. I also really admire all of their missions they support. I’ve already recommended some friends to come pick out their wedding dresses here and can’t wait to see what they pick. I highly recommend Church Street Bridal!!!
I went to Church Street Bridal because I heard about their cause from my hair stylist. I did not know I would be getting a full-service bridal salon experience when I walked in. The ladies that work there make you feel so welcome and are incredibly helpful. I found the most gorgeous gown that retailed for over $1800 for a third of the cost. Love it!
I unfortunately didn’t find my dress here, but the ladies there made it super fun and were so helpful in trying to help me find the perfect dress. They had a good range of sizes and everything was beautiful!
I loved my experience at Church Street Bridal. I got a beautiful designer gown from Kleinfelds for a TENTH of the price and ALL the money I paid goes to helping fight domestic violence. This is such an amazing salon with a great cause! No, you won't be pampered or poured a glass of champagne, but you also won't deal with consultants trying to convince you to buy ridiculously priced veils and accessories. This place is so down to earth and they give you full control of your shopping experience. You get to pull as many gowns as you want and spend as long as you need trying them on! This is a no brainer! Every bride should at least check this place out before going anywhere else.
Truly amazing! Love all the ladies there! Made me feel very comfortable and made the experience all about finding me the perfect dress! 100% recommend!
CSB is completely great and was a very fun experience. Their mission is amazing and their staff are clearly passionate both about that and about helping brides find their perfect dress. While there is not a dedicated consultant for each bride (which was not an issue at all during my visit), all members of staff were attentive, answered all of my and my family's questions, and helped with pulling dresses. And their prices CANNOT be beat. I can't recommend a visit to CSB enough.
So many dresses and for a good cause! Who wouldn't want to spend $250 on a $2500+ dress! You don't need an appointment, just show up; although, I recommend going right when they open and snag one of the fitting rooms (check online for hours of business). No joke, I tried on probably 100 dresses! I'm not a girly-girl but it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience! It's definitely worth the drive for out-of-towners! Staff is helpful/nice.
I love that Church Street Bridal offers sample dresses at amazing prices for brides on a budget, like me. I only wish their were more plus size dresses. If you are a bridal size 12 or under, make this your first stop!
I drove from the triangle in North Carolina and don't regret it one bit! I had so much fun with two girl friends trying stuff on and ended up picking the ONE. I loved that the purchase supports a good cause and the price was great for what I got.
They were fantastic and my dress was even more gorgeous on the day of than I thought possible. Lovely staff and such a fun experience!
Shopping here was so easy. The shop had posted new arrivals on Facebook, so I came in as soon as they opened. They immediately pulled the dress for me and helped me to pick a veil that would match. All of the ladies were so sweet. The prices were incredible and all of the proceeds go to a great cause!
I am so happy I found CSB. Since my now husband and I recently relocated to VA all of my bridesmaids and family lived out of state. I went there by myself and the staff made me feel like I was there with family and friends. They helped me in any way possible and helped me choose my perfect dress. I purchased an amazing dress at a ridiculously discounted price and was ecstatic that the proceeds would go towards helping those in need.
Absolutely lovely experience here; none of the upsells or pressure of some of the other salons I visited. It was relaxed, but the ladies were still extremely helpful in finding what I was looking for. I ended up with a perfect dress at an amazingly low price!
Absolutely love this bridal shop! Not only is it all for a great cause but the employees are so friendly and sweet and made me feel special while shopping and helped me in saying YES to the dress!
Loved finding my perfect dress here! So many helpful people and amazing dresses.
I went to Church Street Bridal "just to look". I had only tried on one wedding dress and thought I knew exactly what I wanted. The ladies there were so sweet and helpful, and let me browse and didn't make me feel pressured. I am a size 6, so I shopped sizes 8/10, which they had a great selection of. I tried on three dresses and fell in love with the first dress I tried on, none of the others compared. I couldn't walk away without the dress (which wasn't a style I had even considered for myself), and knowing the money was going to a GREAT cause made it even better. The dress only cost $475! I am still just as in love with my dress as I was the moment I tried it on. Before going to high end bridal shops that can be pricey, I recommend going to Church Street Bridal! They have a fabulous staff, selection, cause and prices!
I cannot say enough good things about CSB. I bought a $3400 Cocoe Voci dress for $260 and that was including sales tax! It was totally under my budget and I had more than enough money leftover for accessories and alterations. It was the only bridal shop I went to and you don't need an appointment!!! I made the trek from the DC area with my MOH and another gal pal and I tried on a total of 15 dresses before I made my decision. I felt like a princess on my wedding day and got SO many compliments. The ladies that work there are super helpful and accommodating, as well as knowledgeable. The dresses come from high end bridal shops, like Kleinfeld's in NYC, and are usually about 90% off, since they are sample gowns. The majority of the dresses come in sample sizes, so if you're teeny tiny or on the bigger side, you may not find as many options. I typically wear about a 6/8, which is a 10/12 in bridal sizing, and the dress I purchased was a 10. The dresses are organized by size and they get new inventory in all the time. They also have a great selection of bridal accessories, like jewelry and veils. I would definitely say this place is worth the trek and I would recommend it to anyone. Another huge reason I recommend this place is that it is run through the Central Virginia YWCA and the proceeds go to domestic violence victims. Great price and a fantastic cause? Sign me up!
I heard about Church Street Bridal when I lived in Virginia. So, when it came time for my wedding, I knew that I wanted to check it out. My mom came up from Florida, and then we drove from North Carolina to Lynchburg to go to this shop, and we were not disappointed. The staff is so friendly and offers helpful suggestions (e.g., what size to go up to, how a given dress would need to be altered, honest opinions). Also, they let my mom come in the room with me and help me get in and out of the dresses. While some people might prefer more individualized service, I liked being in the dressing room with my mom and not some stranger. They let me try on my favorite dresses multiple times to help me make a final decision, and they even held my two favorites overnight so I could sleep on it. Even after cleaning costs and alterations, I still paid less than I would have for an "off the rack" dress at most bridal shops before alterations (and that's for the low end of dresses!)! Plus, the fact that the money goes to such a wonderful cause helped me feel like I had done something good for others in my wedding planning!
I loved Church Street Bridal. This charity offers designer wedding dresses at huge discounts and the proceeds help domestic violence.
Awesome business for an even better cause! I visited Church Street Bridal in January with the hopes of finding my dream dress at an unbelievable price. I was not disappointed and I ended up finding the perfect dress for under $300!!! That is a deal you cannot beat and the fact that ALL the proceeds go to help women in the area is even better. Everyone that works there is awesome and so helpful, it is so great that this business has become more popular and has grown so much in such a short time.
I purchased a gorgeous dress for much less than it was worth. And the money goes to a good organization.
I do wish they had warned me how hard it was to clean raw silk. There were a few smudges on the dress (as it was a sample) and they told me it was easy to clean. Not easy and not cheap. Luckily I found a fantastic seamstress who made the dress look perfect for a reasonable price.
I would still highly recommend them and am so glad I took the time to drive there from NOVA.
I was lucky enough to find my wedding dress at church street bridal for a fraction of the cost of other retailers. While I did reconstruct my dress to an extent, I was very pleased with the selection and happy to help out a great cause for the YWCA
Proceeds from gowns benefit a battered women's shelter. Fashionable, beautiful gowns and a large selection. If value and your budget are important, please consider Church Street Bridal.
I'm that kind bride who has to look at all of the possible options before making a decision. I also had a very limited budget and didn't want to spend too much on a dress I would only get to wear once.
So my friend told me to check out Church Street Bridal and that to top it off their proceeds go to a good cause. So I went on my first day of looking for a dress and I brought my mother,MOL, MOH, and father. I tried on a dozen dresses had a blast but nothing that really sung to me.
Then the consultant asked me what were the favorite parts of the dresses I tried on and she said she had one more she wanted me to try. She brought it out and that was it. I just felt like dancing and didn't want to take the dress off. Because it was my first day I couldn't believe I had found the dress so quickly. Church Street promised to hold the dress for me over the weekend. I rushed to some other stores tried on a dozen more dresses before I came back and knew this was the one! Had such a wonderful experience with Church Street.
A wonderful assortment of gowns at incredible prices! The staff is helpful and knowledgeable. This is a true gem in our city!
What an AMAZING place! Beautiful, affordable gowns with the funds going back to a good cause?!? I couldn't have asked for more. My gown was so amazing and it ended up needed the barest of alterations. ADVICE - look on their facebook to see what they have to offer; realize that each style may only come in a few sizes; smart to go at least twice and see how stock has changed. The people their are so sweet and helpful and easy to work with. I recommend this place to every bride I see.
I bought my wedding dress there in April. I visited two times, the first time was with just two of my bridesmaids. I found THE dress there on the very first visit! I came back less than a week later with my parents and ended up buying it! It was very cheap -- a tiny bit over $400 for a gorgeous $2,300 Kleinfeld dress! The women who work there are so great, I felt like they were cousins and aunts! I truly appreciated the sincerity of the workers and I really appreciated hearing their opinions! It was a great experience and I am so excited to wear my gorgeous wedding dress!
I couldn't have had a better experience at Church Street Bridal. I went with my mom on a whim one week after I had been engaged not expecting to find my dress at all. I ended up saying YES to the first dress I tried on. The experience was amazing, Sheila was so helpful, encouraging, and enthusiastic. She offered great advice and helped in my decision to say yes. It was easy to say yes not only to a beautiful dress but to a great cause. 100% of the proceeds from buying my dress there went to the YWCA. I got a very expensive designer dress from Kleinfelds in NYC for more than half the price off.
Very helpful. Greta deals!
Church Street Bridal was one of the highlights of my wedding planning! Prior to stopping here, i visited several local "bridal" stores in Raleigh, NC. The lower-end stores had some dresses i thought were OK, but nothing that WOWd. The higher-end stores seemed too overpriced for what was offered, but also did not have that WOW. We hit the jackpot at CSB in November 2012. Apparently the bridal seasons change around this time so CSB was getting in more dresses than they could hang on the rack. I found piles of lovely gowns to try on (you can tell the difference in fabric quality with a nice dress immediately!). When i put on my dress i knew it was "the one" - prior to stopping by CSB i thought that feeling was not in the cards. I ended up with a designer dress about 93% off retail. It had a minor snag in one of the organza folds, but otherwise it was beautiful.
If you're thinking about driving out to CSB, just do it! If you find a dress, not only will it be a WOW but the (little) money you do spend will go to a great cause.
I cannot say enough good things about this fabulous little dress shop. Not only do they have the most incredible designer dress samples, but the proceeds from the dresses go to an amazing charity. You would be foolish to shop anywhere else!
Best place to find a wedding dress!!!!! Great deal, you buy off the rack, and it goes to a good cause. I live in DC, but I tell ALL of my friends to make the trip down to Lynchburg to find a dress! We also found two of my bridesmaid's dresses there, and my sister bought her wedding dress there 2 years ago. Love this place!!!
I found the dress of my dreams. For less than $500. Don't hate me. Just check out Church Street Bridal.
Everyone is not going to find their perfect dress here... but it is worth a shot. They get dress donations from all the fancy stores in NYC like Kleinfelds (you know, Say Yes to the Dress) - they aren't used dresses, but they are samples that people have tried on. Some have a few defects like a missing button or dirty bottom, and some and flawless. They usually only have one of each size so you can't be like "I want that dress in a size 2". You just hope there is something there in your size (or in a size close to your size that can be altered).
I walked in and the first dress I tried on was the one. I just didn't know it yet. I tried on a few more, went to a few more dress shops, came back three more time, and finally made my purchase.
The ladies in the shop are soooo helpful and sweet. They kept 'an eye' on my dress as I shopped around and promised to let me know if anyone else was eyeing it up too.
Oh - and I almost forgot on eof the best parts. All of the proceeds go to their domestic violence shelter! Can you believe that? Amazing.
I tell everyone I can about this store. You should check it out! It is definitely worth the trip!
I found my wedding dress here and it was such a great deal. I would have had to go to David's Bridal to afford a wedding gown, but the gown i found here was of superior quality than any high end gown i would have found at David's and for a fraction of the cost. I received so many complements on my dress!
I ordered my dress over the phone after looking at their inventory on their Facebook page. We ended up (and planned on) altering the dress heavily, but the high quality dress was exactly what we needed. These dresses come from boutiques like Kleinfeld's! My dress was originally $2500 and we bought it for $400. The great people at CSB helped us pick it, packed it up, and sent it to us quickly.
I would definitely go with them again!
I highly recommend Church Street Bridal for anyone looking to save some money on a dress. The shop is located in the YMCA building in Lynchburg. They get donations of new designer dresses from around the country, which they then sell at a reduced price. All the proceeds go to charity. Depending on your size and the day you go, you may not have a huge selection but they do have some wonderful dresses. I found a great dress for under $300!
My friend (and one of my bridesmaids) convinced me that we should just check Church Street Bridal- cause “hey, you never know!” We went and I tried on about 10 dresses, none that really stood out to me. I was looking at myself in one dress & my friend asked me about a dress that was on display. I wasn’t crazy about the way it looked because of all the pick-ups. But again- she convinced me to just try it on. The woman at the store told me she forgot she had received that dress a few weeks prior and just put it out that day. I was FLOORED when I looked at myself (not to sound conceited). It was stunning. Even better- it was a Keinfeld dress that retails at $4,500. I’m from Long Island, NY so I know you can’t find Keinfeld for a discount unless it’s used. Now, I would have spent up to $1,000 on my wedding dress, but never $4,500- sorry I can’t justify it! Needless to say, I paid $450 for my $4,500 gown. I also bought a designer veil while I was there (with the veil and taxes I think it total about $550, somewhere in that range). Church Street sells all their dresses at 10% of the retail value and the money goes to support women and children in Central Virginia- DOESN’T GET BETTER THAN THAT!
I walked into Church Street Bridal, pessimistic. But I ended up finding about four dresses that I really liked, and went with the first one I tried on! The dresses here are designer, so they are very unique and very well-made. My dress cost $350, and that was on the higher end of prices. It was beautiful and I was very happy with it! I was also very happy with the price. Church Street Bridal sells new designer dresses for about 10% of their original price. You won't find this kind of deal anywhere else. It was also nice that the money was going to a good cause, the YWCA. I would totally recommend going here first before anywhere else.
I got the perfect gown for an unbelievable value. My gown was originally priced at $2700 and I purchased it for $350. Believe it! I thought it was too good to be true. The staff there are wonderful, as well.
This is definitely the place to check out if you want to save some money and get a unique, designer gown. All of the dresses that I saw here were amazing. Many that I tried on required minor alterations (zipper defective, small tear, etc.). I ended up buying a $3500 dress for $400 and I had to spend $35 to have a tear fixed - definitely worth it. The dress I got was so far above what I found elsewhere, that it was definitely worth the small inconvenience of trying to find someone to fix a little tear.
I got my dress from here, and I absolutely love it! I got a $4,500 dress for just $400. The only problem with it was it needed a new zipper pull, which the seamstress did for free! My sister also got her dress from here, and she only paid $90 for hers and it also was beautiful. I always recommend girls go here for wedding gowns or for prom dresses. The service is great, and they really go out of their way to make sure you feel totally in control and comfortable.
I was so excited about finding this place!!! They sell designer gowns (in regular and plus sizes). I bought a $3000 dress for $300. And, I think that they offer layaway, too. I loved my dress and the store associates were very helpful.
such a wonderful place with an even more wonderful service... They use the money they get from dress sales towards domestically abused women. So as you celebrate your day looking gorgeous - you know you're doing a good deed too! I've tried on a $10,700 Kleinfeld's dress for just $400!
I found my Amsale Coco Dress at Church Street Bridal. It was perfect! Retail at Kleinfelds for $4000....we paid $400!!
It did need cleaning and much altering. Altering only cost $150. Perfect, perfect, perfect!!! Thank you! Great cause!
Church Street is the perfect place to go if you have champagne taste on a beer budget. Due to the philanthropy of this shop, you are able to get a huge deal on wedding dresses. My dress was perfect
