After so many disappointing and uncomfortable visits to dress shops around Seattle, Cicada was extremely welcoming and relaxed. Morgan was great to work with and super receptive to my design ideas. I am a really anxious person and between my initial concept appointment and my muslin fitting I was nervous I had made the wrong decision by going with a dress I had never actually seen or tried on, but when I got to my muslin fitting I immediately knew I made the right call. Morgan and Elizabeth designed a dress that I wish I could wear everyday and one I wouldn’t have been able to find in a store in Seattle. The dress is stunning. So many people have asked where I got it and who the designer is. Thanks Cicada Team!

Morgan and the entire Cicada staff are absolutely amazing. From start to finish, their expertise was front and center. They helped me pick a dress, completely different than what I thought I would want (TRUST THE EXPERTS), and customize it to fit my vintage 1930’s style dreams. Their commitment to craft is apparent, the dress fit like a glove and looked perfect. I would wholeheartedly recommend Cicada to anyone on the hunt for a wedding dress, they truly are one of a kind in knowledge, service and craft.

I took my dress here to do minor alterations and really enjoyed my experience. They were professional, kind and very talented. They communicated clearly what they recommended and made sure I was on the same page. Very efficient drop off and pick up with quick turn around time. Affordably priced. Highly recommend.

I went to Cicada for my alterations on my dress. They were fantastic! I had three different fitting appointments and Morgan was so supportive and prompt. The dress fit perfectly, even though I'd gained almost twenty pounds since I first brought it in. I've got no idea how she did it! Wonderful experience and would highly recommend to brides needing alterations in Seattle.

Morgan is a magician! I bought from another salon but Cicada did my alterations. The dress I bought wasn't even close to fitting when I bought it, but by the day of my wedding it fit really well and felt great. Morgan listened to my particular preferences and concerns, and she got creative about how to make sure the dress fit perfectly while also preserving the original look and designs. It was worth every penny to feel so good day-of!

I bought my dress here and would 100% recommend any bride to visit Cicada. I loved my dress- it felt so special and classic, yet unique and fit perfectly. Morgan made the whole dress fitting appointment a lot of fun and was extremely helpful. After I had to change my plans because of the pandemic, Cicada was extremely flexible with my dress fittings and working with me to send my dress directly to the wedding location. Wonderful people, gorgeous dresses, intimate shop environment!

Being a full-figure bride, I was concerned about finding the perfect, elegant dress for my wedding. Cicada was the first shop I visited and was blown away by the service. I shopped in August and found a sample dress for a fabulous price. Alterations and a custom wrap were handled by their expert seamstresses. I couldn't have been happier with the beautiful dress which made me feel like a million dollars on our special day.

I was so excited to find Cicada, as I want to buy a dress that was made in the USA! The initial visit was lovely, but when I returned eight months later for the final fittings, the dress had been made very differently than we had first discussed. I asked for some alterations, which were granted, but it was a much more form-fitting style than I had been promised during the initial visit when I purchased the dress. I even texted the photo that we had agreed upon to the store after that initial visit! Perhaps it was more difficult because I was out-of-state, and had to return to Seattle for my final two fittings all over one weekend. Either way, it was disappointing. That being said, the staff were sweet, their designs are beautiful and wonderfully made. I just advise future customers to get in writing any changes to the design that you agree upon when you purchase the dress! That way perhaps there will be clearer communication between whoever is helping you pick it out, and the staff who make it.

I am so happy that I bought my wedding dress at Cicada. I wanted an emerald green dress, and Cicada made it so easy! They patiently helped me pick the perfect shade of green and customized the dress design to be exactly what I wanted. It looked amazing! I recommended them to my best friend, and they are currently making her wedding dress too!

I can't say enough good about working with Cicada! I'd only been to two other bridal shops prior, but once I walked into Cicada I couldn't believe how personal and warm the service was. The other shops felt like a combination of too busy and too high priced. This felt both like an achievable option for my dress budget, and also had numerous options for style. I found the perfect dress, but in reality, I had to choose from about five "perfect" dresses. I was surprised--it was the only store where I really loved more than one dress on me! In addition to appreciating their dresses, I really valued being able to support a local business that actually makes the majority of the dresses they sell. That was quite meaningful! And the service that accompanied it was excellent--all my fittings, and their willingness to keep the dress safe and secure until I wanted to pick it up just before the wedding. LOVE Cicada, and can't recommend them enough!

Cicada ruined me. They were the second shop of three that I visited and after leaving Cicada, all the other materials seemed like cheap crap. I loved that they made the dress after I ordered it (local business, local seamstress) and all the alterations were included. I chose a beautiful beaded lace overlay, but didn't like the thin dress they styled it with. I was able to choose another dress from the store and they altered everything to fit me PERFECTLY. SO, SO happy.

Cicada was recommended by many when I first started looking for my dress. It was the first place I went and I am so happy I did. With how overwhelming it can all be, they took charge, grabbed dresses and helped me put them on and go through the decision process. Not pushy at all! Excellent customer service and not over priced at all! My mom made me go to another place and it was apparent that Cicada stood out with the quality and service! The first dress they brought me was the first dress I picked!!!

What I thought was going to be a lengthy experience turned into one stop. When I tried on dresses at Cicada, I immediately found the perfect dress. My experience may be a little different than others as my dress fit perfectly from the beginning to the end. The ladies were always so nice and made me always feel welcome and gave me full attention. The shop is small and personal and the staff didn't try and force me into dresses I wasn't interested in which I found out the one other place I went to. Time to find parking is worth every moment! Cicada dresses are beautiful!

Cicada was the first and only store that I visited for my wedding gown. I love that the shop is actually in the store and that all of there dresses are my by hand on site. They can customize any of their styles - even sample gowns. They also have a lovely assortment of fascinators and sashes.

Cicada is a truly unique bridal salon. All of their dresses in store, they make in the back. The person measuring you is the person who will be making your dress. Fabrics and size will all be customized for your body. While this sounds expensive, their dresses are actually totally reasonably priced! They have a gorgeous selections of dresses, jewelry, accessories and shoes, as well as bridesmaid dresses. I was so happy with my dress, I will forever recommend this boutique. Truly a wonderful experience.

I feel lucky to be one of those brides who can say I LOVE my dress. I had a wonderful experience at Cicada with my mom and maid of honor. The first dress I tried on at Cicada ended up being the dress I compared all others to throughout the day at other shops. I kept going back to it and eventually I knew it was the one. Cicada was great about letting me add straps as the dress was strapless and I felt that just wasn't me. They added them at no charge for me and it was also nice the rest of their alterations were included in the price, so no surprises. The quality you get here is great. Everyone was very attentive to me every time I was there. The shop owner herself did my fitting and had a vested interest in me loving this dress. Everything turned out awesome and I received multiple compliments on my dress but most importantly my husband loved it and I felt amazing all day in it. I want to wear it every day!

I loved my dress! Everyone loved my dress...I loved that it was designed and made in Seattle! How cool is it not to have to buy your dress imported from China.... The gals that work at the shop are amazing and also very patient. They have an incredible selection of dresses that could accommodate any taste...simple, romantic, ruffles, elegant, detailed... I would highly recommend this shop. Also, try and make an appointment for midweek in the morning time in order to have stress free parking!

I tried on many styles at Cicada that were beautiful, but I didn't feel like I had found "the one." There was a black dress that I really liked the styling of, but the only problem was the color. The sales person had me try it on for fun and of course I fell in love with it. So she suggested a semi-custom dress, meaning we were able to have the dress made in ivory instead of black. The dress was flirty, fun, and the best part was that everyone loved it including my husband!

This was the first bridal shop I tried and WOW was the saleslady horrible! I could tell I was her last appointment on a Saturday and she just wanted me to get out. Since it was my first attempt at finding a wedding gown, I wasn't entirely sure what I wanted. The saleslady actually rolled her eyes at me. My two friends that came along with me were much more helpful in finding dresses. Too bad they weren't the ones in the dressing room helping me zip up. I thought for sure that angry lady was going to catch my skin in the zipper. When I tried on gown #3, the big mean saleslady started lecturing me on different kinds of fabrics, then sneered, asking me if I even knew what she was talking about. Do I know all about the various fabrics used for wedding gowns? No. That's HER job. I don't know how long she's been working in sales, but trying to make someone feel stupid is poor strategy.
