The views are amazing, the venue beautiful. No complaints there... We chose it as our wedding venue and can't regret it, except that we did have a few management issues.

the outset, we had technical issues with the signing of the contract. It took several weeks to complete. Jamie was nice enough to allow us a free tasting on the weekend, but when we got there, there was no reservation for us. The staff was kind and allowed us the free tasting once we showed them the email coordinating it all.
There were a few times when costs were asked of us, but were not in the contract. We respectfully showed management the contract, and they took responsibility. Catering charged us extra meals for staff during the event, which was not disclosed to us by Cielo, but Cielo ended up covering it.
Cielo also introduced a permanent pergola a couple months before the wedding, which was not disclosed to me, and offset my plans for dinner tables right where they placed it. I had to completely change my layout and notify all my vendors of this change. It was an unfortunate headache that could have been prevented with more notice.
All the wine was delicious, so there was no problem with taste. But as we had signed the contract believing the cost of wine would not change, it did change, and we were put in a position to buy the wine at the lower price before we had even tasted it, or wait and go with the higher price. Ultimately, after some pushback, Cielo allowed us to have our tasting and keep the lower cost.
Generally, things in the contract were not double-checked or thoroughly written out, and we were expected to take on any costs as a result. With some pushback, we side-lined those costs.
Again, this venue is absolutely beautiful. Even the staff during the wedding was outstanding, including security (which kept away unwanted guests) and the restroom attendant (who was very kind when I needed privacy to use the restroom because of my big dress). We just had many issues with management that required extra effort on our part.

th views overlooking the Santa Monica mountains. While the heat can be strong in summer , it quickly became manageable as the sun began setting. We were all moved by the sun setting in the distance. Finally, fireplaces dotting the perimeter of the facility and the overhanging lights created a romantic evening ambiance.
We had mid-sized wedding. While we were originally surprised by the costs, we thought they were very fair on the wedding day. Rob and Team were very responsive in answering any of our questions, and hopped on multiple calls to clarify our questions. We were very pleased with the service and the taste and quality of the food (would consider it 1 star Michelin at least). We ended up going with the recommended vendors for the wedding planner, photographer, videographer, and dj. All recommended vendors were professional, friendly, and familiar with the venue.
We note that the venue ends at 10pm due to local sound ordinance requirements.
We were able to achieve our vision of a magical day, and our guests were very impressed with the entire wedding, and we are sure you will be as well.

Cielo Farm is a wonderful Wedding Venue. It is a charming rustic vineyard nested in the Malibu Mountains. It is surrounded by a breathtaking scenery. The outdoor ceremony spaces, set next to the fountain and facing the rolling hills, create an intimate and romantic atmosphere. The rustic barn, and dance floor area adorned with fairy twinkle lights, which is adding an elegant touch to the open-air reception area. Known for its commitment to sustainable practices, Cielo Farm provides a farm-to-table culinary experience with locally sourced delights, in-house wine, and experienced preferred vendors.

Cielo Farms requires you to work with their catering group Tres LA and rental group Premiere. We were delighted to find out that both required vendors were the best of the best and extremely top quality. We loved how easy Cielo Farms made our planning process - they were consistent in communications, answered all of our questions in a timely manner, and were flexible to accommodate our requests. I couldn’t be more happy that we got married here and will cherish the memories forever. Thank you Jamie, Stephanie, and Rob!!

is venue flew a drone over my wedding as we were getting set up and called the police on my wedding before 9pm for loud music. This is unacceptable. We were well within the legal noise limits of the area. This owner is truly terrible. Sure get married here, but what wedding venue owner tries to spy on and ruin someone else’s wedding. Our wedding day could not have been better!
The Cielo in-house wine selections were all fantastic. The view from this place is unparalleled- your pictures will be incredible. Several Malibu wedding venues sit below the hill and cost the same, if not more, and they don't get the sweeping mountain view that you get at Cielo. I'm a fan girl, can you tell?
A few things to be mindful of for budgeting:
- Cielo does not have a built in kitchen on site, so you will have to order rentals for the catering company
- They use an exclusive catering company, Tres LA, but not to worry because it's the best wedding food you'll ever have
-There is currently not a grooms suite, so the guys (or girls) will have to get ready offsite if you're trying to stay separate

Even after the Woolsey fire, the are bounced back within months and the hills look like Ireland! Our out of town guests were amazed by the beauty of the location. or weddings that we could find in the area. It’s stunning, a place that feels like a private slice of heaven. At once intimate as well as expansive. Our guests from abroad felt like they came to a perfect jewel of a location - a tuscan vineyard barn on the side of a hill overlooking the malibu valleys, and our local LA friends commented that although they know the area so well, they had never been to anyplace like this. For weddings, they have a sound system already in place, and a team of vendors that work so well together they’re just doing you a huge favor introducing you to them. Also, and this was huge for us, the site reps Shawna and Sheena are an absolute joy to work with. Understanding, patient, and knowledgeable, they were probably our biggest help through the entire wedding process (and when have you heard THAT to be the case - seriously, those two made the whole process work so smoothly.) They made the place feel like family. We’re absolutely joining the wine club now and can’t wait to be there again. We highly recommend the venue, and their team to anyone who wants a perfect wedding day.
