Cinematica Weddings

We cannot recommend Alejandro and Cinematica Weddings enough! From our engagement shoot to our wedding day, working with Alex was genuinely such a wonderful experience. From the very first time we worked together for our engagement shoot, Alex made us feel so comfortable. Photos can be a little nerve-wracking when you’re not used to being in front of the camera, but he made everything feel easy, natural, and effortless. I think that is a huge part of what makes his work so special. Nothing felt overly posed or forced—the photos felt cinematic, editorial, and completely like us. That same energy carried over to our wedding day. The day absolutely flew by, but Alex and his partner brought such positive, go-with-the-flow energy while still keeping everything on track. From getting ready through our reception and open dancing, they captured our day so beautifully. And the photos and videos… WOW. We were blown away. We received our full edited photo gallery just over a couple weeks after our wedding, and our recap video came just under two months later. So many of our photos had this gorgeous editorial quality that left me thinking, “I can’t believe these are OUR wedding photos.” They captured the emotions, details, and energy of the day while still making everything feel cinematic. One of my favorite touches was the camcorder footage incorporated throughout the day. Our hair and makeup artist, groomsmen, and bridesmaids all captured little moments from their own perspectives. Those clips made the video feel so personal and documentary-like, while the rest had that beautiful cinematic quality. It was such a special combination. The process leading up to the wedding was just as great. Communication was always open, and Alex was just a text away whenever I had a question or concern. He has such a positive and friendly attitude. We love his creative eye. It was truly a pleasure to work with him and his team. It was easy to trust his process. It has also been so exciting to see Alex’s work receive the recognition it deserves, including features in Vogue and Vanity Fair. He has mentioned what an honor it was for him to be part of our special day, but honestly, it feels like an honor for us to be part of his journey too. We are so incredibly grateful that Cinematica Weddings documented such an important chapter of our lives. Every time we look through our photos or watch our video, we get to relive the magic all over again. We absolutely LOVE our wedding footage and could not recommend Alex and his team more!

Where do I even start with Alex. I'd looked at a lot of wedding photography before finding him, and nothing looked like his work. It's not posed, it's not typical, it's movement and emotion and real moments that somehow look like art. He's not just a photographer, he's genuinely an artist. We're from Seattle and knew we wanted to trade the rain for San Diego, but that's about as far as our planning went. I had no idea what locations would actually bring the vision in my head to life, so I just handed it over to Alex and let him take the lead. He suggested we start at our hotel, La Valencia in La Jolla, move to Balboa Park for the ceremony, and end the day at Sunset Cliffs for golden hour. Somehow it turned out even better than what I had pictured, and I say that as someone who is now completely incapable of picking favorites from our gallery. Honestly, going in, we were a little intimidated by the whole photography thing. Alex made it fun. Like, genuinely fun, not just tolerable. He was easy to work with and so flexible with us the whole day, which made everything feel relaxed instead of stressful. Then the gallery came back and I just sat there speechless. Some people who mattered to us couldn't be there that day, and having photos this real and this beautiful has meant more to me than I can really put into words. Someday we're going to be old and looking back at these, and honestly that thought alone gets me a little emotional. Alex is the real deal. Book him.
