Jamie and Laurel of CJN were a dream to work with as day of coordinators. They do dozens of weddings at our venue, the Santa Margarita Ranch, each year, so they had wonderful reco...
mmendations for how to use the space without being pushy or insistent. They took the time to listen to us and understand our vision and executed on it perfectly. Though we used them as day of coordinators, they were fully available in the months leading up to help answer any questions or assist with vendors, and we felt completely supported.
I didn't think I would need that much help with the wedding. I had about 2-3 years of events & wedding planning and have worked on over 20 events.

dinator so I happened to find CJN and spoke to Jamie briefly on the phone. I felt like she knew what I wanted and had a very professional demeanor so I felt comfortable moving forward with my decision.
She did a venue tour with us and both the groom and I were blown away at how much she knew and was going to help us with for our wedding.
She helped us for about 3-4 months and I couldn't have done it without her and Laurel. I didn't need a BFF to listen to me vent about the wedding stress - I had my family and friends for that. I'm sure she would have, but what I really needed was a professional who I needed to trust. I didn't want to be that bridezilla we all hate to be around, but as the day was approaching, I knew I needed all of the help I needed and Jamie was so helpful and understanding.
My only regret is only having her for the day-of when I - and everyone! - would have benefitted from a full-on planning service. My wedding was so beautiful and really was the best day of our lives and it couldn't have happened without CJN & Jamie!
Right from the start Jamie, Rikki, and Laurel were there for anything we needed and always stayed calm. They sent us checklists to help us stay on track, and always had an answer t...
o my question. Our wedding was flawless and went off without a hitch thanks to each and every one of them!
If you are considering hiring CJN for any event planning services, I highly recommend you reconsider. Our experience with CJN, and more specifically Jamie, created much heartache a...
nd disappointment for us, and we do not wish that for anyone on their very important day.
My husband and I hired Jamie, the owner, and her employee Rikki for our wedding day-of coordination services, and we were extremely disappointed with 1) the services received, and 2) the very poor manner in which Jamie handled our concerns post-wedding. We could have overlooked the sub-par day-of service delivery; however, from start-to-finish Jamie's customer service was very lacking and the way she left us after the wedding day was unprofessional, negligent, and traumatizing.
To be more specific, though we were disappointed with the day-of services received (or not), my husband and I didn't want to jump to conclusions about CJN and make unfair assumptions, so we requested to speak with Jamie. Unfortunately, every attempt we made to speak with Jamie on the phone was shot down; instead Jamie sent us half-baked responses via email that didn't address any of our concerns. After several days, we were finally able to get Rikki on the phone instead, where she acknowledged many of the issues that took place, but didn't take ownership of any of them. Instead, both Rikki and Jamie did something very uncharacteristic of any professional across any industry - they repetitively threw our other vendors under the bus by casting all the blame on them instead of owning up to any responsibility on their end.
After hearing from Jamie and Rikki that everything overlooked on our wedding day was due to our other vendors, we requested a conference call between all parties. Our other vendors immediately agreed to setting up a call. That was when Jamie let us know that she was no longer interested in resolving our concerns and that any issues/concerns we had were for us to handle.
Jamie's conduct as a business-owner was absolutely appalling, and we were so very disappointed and heartbroken that our wedding memories will forever be stained with these terrible events.
To detail the shortcomings of the wedding day-of services provided, here is a list of everything neglected:
- Failure to coordinate the toast service with the caterer - this is a very common and basic activity performed by all day-of coordinators
- Failure to notify bride and bridal party of start of ceremony - it is the coordinator's job to prompt the bridal party for the walkout, as she is coordinating the overall timeline. Had my bridesmaid not checked, the bridal party would have walked out late.
- Failure to completely set up all ceremony props as agreed-on. After the ceremony had begun, my husband noticed there were a few ceremonial items missing/incomplete, and had to get his cousin to help set them up
- Failure to set up pre-ceremony and cocktail hour lawn games as previously agreed on - Rikki had agreed to setting these items up, but overlooked this. Seeing that Rikki was nowhere to be found, and none of the lawn games were set up, my husband and his groomsmen had to steal away during our Wedding Party photos to set these items up
- Failure to communicate our day-of timeline with our other vendors. This created several ancillary issues
We hired Jamie as our "day of coordinator" for our wedding in April. Well, her first check in was in January and she continued to check in for 4 months until our wedding! She is ...
very professional and just gets things done. I didn't have an ounce of stress on my wedding day because I knew Jaimie was there!
CJN made my day of planning so easy and stress free. I worked with Jamie during the planning process and she quickly answered all of my questions via email. The service they provid...
ed far exceed my expectations, and continued to be surprised by the things they could do for me. I worked with Chris on the day of the wedding, and he was great. He met with us when we arrived in town and picked up all of the items that would need to be set up on the day of. He helped to run our rehearsal and everything went smoothly. On the day of he was so calm and helped to keep me calm. I did not have to worry about a single thing with him in charge, and he was always a step ahead of me when a thought or need arose. I would recommend CJN to every bride.
I really struggled with whether or not I should get a wedding planner or coordinator, since I had done so much of the preparation and decor with my husband, but as the day grew clo...
ser, I realized I had no idea what I was doing, when to walk down the aisle, the order of events, etc. I read reviews of CJN and they seemed promising. Jamie is a really nice person, but I was disappointed in her organization and work. As a bride, I expected the coordinator to take most duties of my plate the day before the wedding. I spent hours making hanging escort cards that were different shapes and colors. I asked Jamie to hang them and we decided on a spot before the wedding. I was so disappointed to see they were laid flat on a dark piano, destroying any effect of seeing the ornaments / escort cards hanging with light bouncing off of them. I also placed the cards in boxes alphabetically and was told by guests that they were completely out of order. I wasn't demanding in what I asked of her, and this was one small but specific request that she did not deliver on. I also was heartbroken when no one was emailed about the rehearsal. It was partially an oversight on my part, but I feel like it was something that a coordinator who is running the rehearsal would help with. Looking back on an almost perfect wedding, working with CJN Event Planning is my only regret.
