had a candle lit ceremony and we knew night photography could be tough. Richard's response "no problem". And honestly every picture is beautiful. The ease at which he tackled our situation shows how skilled he is. 2) "Are you willing to stick around to the very very end?" We booked Richard for over 12 hours and every minute was worth it. I don't know how he was able to be in so many places at one time and capture literally every guest. 3) "All we ask is that we get one photo we can blow up on our wall that isn't a classic wedding photo but something you might see in an art gallery". Honestly our album has at least 100 photos that stand up to this test. Once we did reach out and it only solidified what we already felt. Rich was amazing to work with and the results were more than we could imagine. His work is a beautiful combination of skill and personality, and we loved the idea that our photographs would be both a keepsake and something we could display around our home as artwork. During the actual shoot, we were laughing and having fun the entire time. And we came away with incredible photos! So many in fact, that we decided to get an album (which we weren't planning on knowing that we are going to have a wedding album soon) but we just loved SO many of the pictures that we wanted them in print. Our friends and family our astonished at the quality and beauty of our photos. My only regret is that I didn't book him earlier as he is already booked for our wedding date. in aspects of his portfolio that initially drew us to Rich: his beautiful candid shots and his ability/willingness to create creative compositions, and he did not disappoint. He prefers to capture the day as it is, instead of relying on too much on staged photographs (though of course he'll do those as well). Rich was fun and funny, and we and our guests immediately felt very comfortable around him. As such, he was able to capture what feels like a very natural and authentic portrayal of our wedding, reception, and the preparations beforehand. We were very happy with the photos that he delivered, all beautiful shots with some very fun and interesting compositions mixed in with the traditional. Compositionally, I couldn't be happier. His editing of the photos was consistent and well executed, and images were contrasty and engaging. This style was not always my favorite, as it was not very flattering to (especially older) skin, and often included some blown out highlights (which is not really my style). Even still, we really enjoyed the photos. Delivery of photos was not as fast as it was for some of our friends' weddings, but the photos were better. The timing was still fairly speedy (and was exactly what he said to expect). I would highly recommend Richard Clarke.

Los Angeles but was willing to travel and meet us there for our dream engagement shoot. We had an initial consult and several Skype meetings/emails exchanged before our trip as well. I felt that if we had any questions, he was accessible to us. Rich was willing to hike with us for an amazing sunset shot which was priceless to us. He was also willing to shoot another area with us the next morning. All of the pictures were beautiful and I can't say enough about the work he put into it. ith Rich’s work after coming across a blog post of a wedding he’d shot at a venue we were considering booking. We didn’t wind up choosing that venue, but could not get his pictures out of our heads. We reached out to him immediately after we booked our wedding and are so thankful we did. The entire experience working with Rich was fantastic, from start to finish. We first “met” via Skype, as we live on the East Cost. After having a great conversation, Rich, at our request, provided several references- who couldn’t have offered any higher praise. This sealed the deal for us. More than a year and a half before our August 2017 wedding, we hired Rich for our wedding and rehearsal because we wanted him to document the entire wedding weekend and didn’t want to risk losing him. Leading up to the big day, Rich was easy to get a hold of and quickly answered any questions we had. He also did a great job working out our wedding day timeline with us. Come our wedding day, Richard (and his second shooter Jason) worked their magic. We aren’t necessarily naturals in front on the camera, but Rich made us feel comfortable and encouraged us to be ourselves. There was such effort on his end to make sure every shot was perfect... Leading up to our first look, Rich knocked on hotel room doors down the length of the hall to make sure no one would walk out and disrupt our special moment. At Rich’s suggestion, we sneaked off during our reception to take sunset pictures. For about 45 minutes, we enjoyed some private time and had those moments captured- with the best lighting and scenic background. Some of these photos are our absolute favorite from the day.   Rich sent us a preview of our pics while we were on our honeymoon- just 2 weeks after our wedding. We loved them so much that it actually made it even harder to wait for the full gallery. Within a few weeks, we received an AMAZING slide show highlighting the whole wedding weekend. We didn’t have a videographer and the slide show did a great job of taking us back to our special day- we must have watched it 10 times the night we got it. Such an awesome touch! We’re so thrilled not just with our pictures, but with the whole experience. We can’t imagine having worked with anyone else. Thank you, Rich!

Wedding in Montauban South of France because we loved his pictures - they were real, not staged and were exactly what we wanted. It was one of the best decisions we made and this is what we got.... Imagine being overjoyed and in awe of every single picture from the perfect perspective, telling your wedding story that gets you emotional every time you see it. Everyone has been in awe of how amazing the pictures are and have said "I've never seen wedding photos like it, they are unbelievable. It is like a magazine cover shoot". Rich seems to have an omnipotent awareness to preempt where he needs to be to capture the perfect picture. And not just of the bride and groom. Rich captured many intimate moments between our guests, including one of expecting parents, with their hands on baby-bump. Just one of the many priceless moments he has captured forever. This skill of being in the perfect place every time has produced an astounding story of our wedding and captured the emotion in a stunningly beautiful image, with every single shot. He is relentless on the day, soaking up everything you have experienced and everything you missed. And he does not stop after the event; Rich edited a huge amount of photos and got them back to us in just a few weeks. A truly epic effort. We expected the outcome would be good but it is better than we could ever have hoped for. Even the music of our slideshow is perfect! Professional throughout, Rich works in the background while being great (and patient) with guests. We have had so many compliments and comments from our friends on how great he was. We could not recommend this man more, worth every penny. We are so delighted with his work. Absolutely priceless memories we will cherish for eternity and we have Clarkie Photography to thank. chard was based out of LA, and we live in Alaska so I tried to get his photos out of my head, as it was probably not ideal to fly a photographer here. I continued to search for other photographers but I felt like I was going to be settling. My husband looked at his photos and with a little convincing, got to be as I was, so we contacted Rich...Best. Decision. Ever! From the moment we first talked with him he made us feel comfortable and was a breeze to talk with. He offered to do an engagement shoot for us in Alaska, as he just so happened to be flying here for another wedding that summer. We were both a little nervous being in front of a camera like that for the first time but he made it so much fun and so enjoyable. The photos we received were mind blowing. Adam and I both knew that we had made the right decision, even if we did get a few weird looks from family and friends when we would tell them we were flying a photographer in from LA. Then came the time for our wedding. Communication was perfect, he answered any questions we had, and made us 100% comfortable. He arrived wedding day bright and early and was there throughout all the chaos. There was a moment where he even told me to breath, calming me down since my nerves were clearly obvious, moments before walking down the aisle. He just seems like he cares, he is passionate about his work, and for the day, is a part of the family even though he is there for a specific job. My family and friends absolutely adored him. We have had nothing but amazing comments about how fun he was and I can't even put words to how much we love the gallery and slideshow we have now received from our big day. Adam: When my wife told me she wanted a photographer from LA, I thought she was insane. As a guy, I didn't have many considerations or expectations in a photographer other than a reasonable price; and all that I could think about was the extra cost of a plane ticket. Also as a guy, I wasn't allotted much say in the situation... So we went with Rich. I'm sure I'll get used to saying this, but my wife was right. From the moment we spoke to him I knew he was the right guy. He absolutely blew me away. His photo's were amazing, his attitude was amazing, his interaction with everyone was just simply amazing. He made everyone feel so comfortable, he made us genuinely laugh when needed, and he caught every single moment we could have asked for. Sure, its easy to make my wife look good, so I can't credit him too much on that aspect; but to make MY butt look less chunky than normal?! That's borderline magic. Which is why he has been dubbed the wizard of photography (by me). I would recommend Wizard Rich to literally anyone for anything that needs photographed; unless you don't like perfection.
