If you want awesome food, great servers, and a great experience, go with Classic City Chef (Mickey Wickwire). The servers and bartenders who worked for him did a GREAT job and represented him well. He also helped us cut costs where we could, such as using plastic cups and plates. They were very high quality and no one even noticed. Anyone in the Athens or Atlanta area needs to schedule a meeting with him - you will not regret it!! He is the best out there and people are still (two weeks later) talking about how great the food was!

et there was no way we could make that happen. My husband's boss had used Classic City Chef for their wedding and highly recommended them. I wasn't sold when I looked at their website, but I am very happy that I called Mickey and talked to him. Not only had he worked at my venue before, but he told me things the other companies did not (for one, he suggested not to do a sit-down dinner at my venue due to space constraints; something I had not been told by other people I talked to). He was very willing to work with our budget, and was great about giving us options that would bring our costs down but still keep our guests happy. He was sometimes difficult to get in touch with via email, but would always answer his cell phone when I called him. His manner is a little brusk, and matter-of-fact, but don't let that turn you off. The food was absolutely incredible. When we went for our tasting, we could barely finish the food because it was so good that we kept eating the first few items that came out and had to force ourselves to keep eating when he brought out new items for us to try. He even let us take home the leftovers that we couldn't finish at the tasting. At the wedding, we had guest after guest come up to us and tell us how great the food was (and still almost 3 weeks later, I have people telling me how good everything was!). They did a great job with presentation as well – everything looked great. The only negative was that we were not sent home with the amount of food that we were told we were going to be sent home with. Some of my guests saw workers walking out with boxes full of food and cake – and the cake was not purchased through him, so we were definitely not happy about that. He also told us that he would send us home with anything that went out of the kitchen, but the amount of leftovers we had at the end of the night didn't really match up. Overall, however, I would definitely recommend Classic City Chef. They were easy to work with and were great at working within our budget. The food was delicious and the guests had plenty to eat. I would just be prepared not to get the amount of leftover food afterward that you're told you'll get.

nd had my mother do it for me. He did not follow through with his promises, he took the food away early and fed his workers with it. The grooms cake and wedding cakes were not what we ordered.
