Classic Elegance Artistry

You can't have Classic Elegance Artistry beat in terms of value when it comes to bridal hair and makeup. I paid a fraction of the cost of some of the other perhaps better known makeup artists in Maui but I felt beautiful and received so many compliments the day of my wedding! I was kind of hesitant because they don't have as many photos of their work as some of the other MUAs, but I was pretty pleased with their work. Overall I'd give them a 4 out of 5 stars. Shanti was my makeup artist and hair stylist and she was incredibly sweet! I've had my makeup and hair done before as a bridesmaid at other weddings and I know sometimes artists can have a little bit of an ego on them when you ask them to correct something. I really appreciated that Shanti listened and worked with me to get the look that I wanted - even when it required her to remove some of it and start again! She was professional and caring and she really made me feel at ease. I really enjoyed my time getting ready with her! She really wanted to make sure that I looked the way I wanted to. I requested fresh flowers in my hair and she picked some beautiful blooms and used them beautifully in my half do. I thought I was going to get airbrush makeup but she used my own foundation and concealer instead, but my makeup lasted all night with just a little bit of oil blotting! The only critique I had about my hair was that I wish she used a hotter curling iron. With my own curling wand my curls typically hold really well with some hairspray. When she curled my hair I hardly felt heat and I felt like they kept falling out AS she was doing my hair. Seeing this I asked for tight curls when she was doing the final curls (assuming that they'd loosen to a pretty curl by the time I got to the venue). In the 45 minutes it took to get to the venue, there was barely any curl remaining in the back of my hair and my hair looks almost straight in my cake cutting photos. The style overall still looked very pretty, but I feel like a hotter curling iron would've made a big difference. Overall, I still loved my look and I would definitely recommend Classic Elegance Artistry for the bride who isn't SUPER picky and likes a more natural look. If you want something very extravagant or complicated you may want to do a trial first or pay the difference for some of the more popular artists.
