Still boasting its magnificent Victorian Bar, this classic edifice has been a central social spot of Claudio's since 1886. This venue can accommodate up to 450 guests for your special occasion. The upstairs grill offers charming views of the Peconic and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. What a disappointment. We chose Claudio's for our son's wedding Welcome Party and spent more than a year planning the event, only to have the evening compromised by the very issue ...
we had spent months trying to prevent.
Over the course of planning, we worked with four different event managers due to constant turnover. Responses were often delayed, meetings were canceled, and obtaining basic information required repeated follow-up. We frequently received conflicting answers from different members of the team, making it nearly impossible to know who had authority or what information was accurate.
Our primary concern throughout the year was whether the space allocated for our approximately 130 guests would be sufficient. We raised this concern repeatedly, visited the venue multiple times, requested floor plans, and sought clarification on the event layout and rain plan. Each time, we were reassured that everything would work.
Unfortunately, our concerns proved to be valid.
On the night of the event, the space was so overcrowded that guests could barely move. What should have been a relaxed waterfront Welcome Party felt cramped and uncomfortable. The lack of adequate space significantly impacted the guest experience and was exactly the issue we had spent 12 months trying to address.
The waterfront location is beautiful, and several staff members genuinely tried to help. Unfortunately, the planning, communication, and execution fell far short of what one would expect for an event of this importance and cost.
If you are considering Claudio's for a wedding or private event, make sure guest capacity, event footprint, and contingency plans are clearly defined, realistic, and confirmed well in advance. Based on our experience, do not assume that the proposed layout will comfortably accommodate the number of guests being promised.
AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS.
We booked a welcome party for our wedding here 7 months ahead of our wedding, as to have everything squared away ahead of time. We signed a contract,...
and sent CC info for a $1600 deposit. I found it odd that 3 weeks out I never heard from them, as our menu selections and headcount was due (mind you this is a 55 person event). When I contacted the restaurant to confirm everything, they told me they had a system update which must have accidentally removed our event from their calendar, so they forgot we had booked, and can no longer host our party. They said had I not called myself to confirm everything we would've shown up to a closed building the day of the event. The manager then tells me don't worry, we spoke to another local restaurant that can take over your party for about the same price. I call this said restaurant, and this was not the case! They did not have a space to accommodate my group, and said it would cost almost triple the price! After this, Claudios went radio silent, refusing to return calls and emails. Our deposit was returned, however this was handled so poorly by Claudio's. We were then left 3 weeks out scrambling calling every restaurant on the North Fork trying to find a new location, while simultaneously contacting our 55 guests to notify them all of the plans. We are all out of towners, and I had paid to have invitations made up and sent out for this welcome party. I had also paid to have welcome signs and decor made up that now all went to waste. At the very least Claudios did not even offer a gift card or ANY type of gesture to apologize for their mistake !! They also said they could no longer host the party because they weren't reopening for the season until May 15th, then I get an email shortly after from their marketing team that their "grand opening for the season" will be April 19th!! A week BEFORE the event I had booked!

night, September 15, 2023, I had the pleasure of holding my son’s rehearsal dinner at Claudio’s on the dock. The reception was wonderful from start to finish! This was in no small part due to the care and attention to detail by Jonathan Abbott. From start to finish Jonathan made this experience a pleasure. He is a great asset to your company, and very knowledgeable in all aspects of the business. The evening was perfect. Thank you all for making our day go so well. The food was amazing- we had salmon and steak , with a wonderful beet salad.

The setting upstairs overlooking the harbor was magical, the food delicious, the service excellent. Everyone at the rehearsal dinner commented on how wonderful every aspect of this venue was.
