If you're looking for a wedding venue with breathtaking views, an attentive and dedicated staff, and adorable farm animals (miniature horses, goats, and even a llama named Chocolate Chip), then look no further than Claxton Farm!
The venue: Everywhere you look at Claxton, you will be treated to a gorgeous landscape that is perfect for photo backdrops! There are beautiful rolling hills, stunning mountains, and farm animals! The interior of the farm is the perfect reception area and was the deciding factor for us. The key feature is a beautiful stone fireplace that you can decorate to your preference. The reception area also has a covered patio that is amazing for a cocktail hour and for dancing!
Planning: We worked closely with Claxton to plan all of the important details for our big day. They streamlined the planning process and were flexible in letting us make late adjustments. I'd like to make a special shoutout to Kayleigh for her attention to detail and all of her help and recommendations during the planning process!
Recommended vendors: We used several vendors that were recommended by Claxton. They often work with Claxton and are very familiar with the venue, which was a great help!
Catering: The catering was included with Claxton and it was super easy to plan the meal choices and passed appetizers that we chose. Having the catering included with the venue was really nice as it helped save us more time on the planning front!
The big day: Claxton also provided a day-of coordinator. Jackie was so attentive, caring, and was always thinking ahead. As soon as our ceremony ended, she gave us appetizers and our specialty cocktails and gave us some time to ourselves before we had some more pictures taken. Meanwhile, our guests enjoyed the cocktail hour with their indoor/outdoor bar. We also had a few side activities planned outside like cornhole and s'mores by a fire pit. The entire staff worked in sync to make sure the dinner service went off without a hitch. Wrapping up the night, we had dancing inside and outside of the reception area, which was a total blast!
Overall, our wedding experience was an absolute 10/10! Our guests had the most amazing time and were thrilled with our choice! We love Claxton so much and cannot recommend it enough as a wedding venue!
Claxton Farm is a beautiful venue that all of our guests loved! We appreciated planning assistance from Emily and Kayleigh and liked the variety of customization options to meet our vision and budget. The day-of staff were professional and we were pleased with the in-house DJ. While you get an intimate and secluded setting, our guests were still able to have cell service and able to conveniently get there from Asheville.
We could not imagine our wedding at any other venue! Claxton is absolutely gorgeous with rolling green hills and mountains surrounding it, expansive outdoor grassy area for an outdoor ceremony and to enjoy games and open space, and a beautiful indoor area for the reception with a rustic woody feel and fireplace. Plus they have farm animals including a mini horse and the infamous chocolate chip the llama!
Not only is the venue gorgeous but it was so nice to have everything all in one spot including catering and booking the DJ. Emily and Kayleigh were also so responsive and helpful with every question and helped keep our wedding planning timeline on schedule. They were extremely patient and accommodating for all our wedding decisions whether that be change in food, beverages, guest count, or wedding day set up. We could not have made it happen without them or the wedding day of coordinator Jackie! Our guests raved about the beauty of the venue and also the food! We chose the pulled pork, bbq chicken, Mac and cheese, and green beans. Literally was the best green beans I’ve ever had! The cocktail hour included bacon wrapped shrimp and spanakopita were amazing as well!
If you’re looking for a venue that is close to Asheville (15 min from downtown) and is gorgeous this is definitely the place to book! We also thought the pricing was extremely fair for all that the venue has to offer, especially in comparison to other Asheville venues. Thank you for everything Claxton!
My husband and I were married at Claxton in July 2021, and the experience was beyond amazing. Claxton’s whole team worked closely with us and our planner right up to the day of the event making sure everything was perfect. Emily made the planning process easy and enjoyable. She was responsive and flexible, and went out of her way to accommodate any and all requests. The staff onsite the day of was anticipatory and responsive (shoutout to Jackie on being there throughout the night to make sure we ate and always had full drinks)! The food is catered through the company that owns the venue, M7 Events, and it was excellent! We went with a BBQ theme for dinner with the smoked chicken and chopped beef brisket with corn pudding and green beans and it was SO good! For apps we did the bacon wrapped shrimp (DELISH), caprese bites and fried tomato biscuits - our guests are still commenting on how delicious it all was. Finally, the venue was beautiful with its lush green grass, gorgeous willow tree and stunning mountainous backdrop. Chocolate Chip (the llama) and the other animals on the farm were an absolute hit with guests too! The fire pit and smores situation was an amazing add-on to desserts along with our wedding cake! It was absolutely beyond anything we had envisioned and we cannot recommend Claxton Farm enough!
CLAXTON FARM IS INCREDIBLE! I don't think I could write enough amazing things about this venue and company. The Claxton Farm team is amazing; easy to work with, made everything so easy and organized, and made my wedding day perfect. The venue is stunning and the location is out of a dream. All my guests said it was one of the most beautiful wedding venues they've ever been too. Claxton Farm is run by an event planning company so we were able to book catering, DJ, and all rentals through them. It made it so easy! My husband and I are so incredibly happy with Claxton Farm and so lucky we were able to get married there. I HIGHLY recommend this venue to any couple who want a beautiful mountain wedding!
We had our dream wedding at Claxton. It could not have gone any better! The staff was so attentive to every little thing and took care of it without us even having to think about lifting a finger. They were in constant communication making sure everything that needed to be handled, got handled. Jackie & Emily with M7 Catering were incredible! Hands down the easiest, most laid back day of my life and I wish we could keep reliving it !
We absolutely loved our wedding at Claxton Farm on 10/13/18. Brenda, Emily, Jackie and the rest of the team at CF were fantastic to work with, very professional and accommodating to our vision for the day. Claxton Farm is not only a gorgeous mountain setting, but also has excellent food, parking and bus accessibility and is only 20 minutes from downtown Asheville. THANK YOU to the team at Claxton Farm, can we do it all over again?!
Claxton Farm and M7 were absolutely fantastic to work with from the very start to the day-of. We mostly spoke/worked with Brenda initially who was so lovely and accommodating. She walked us through all the aspects of the venue from preparing for different weather scenarios, picking out a menu that suited everyone, recommending wonderful vendors, helping decide on the rentals, the layouts, and timeline for the day of.
Later we also had the pleasure of meeting Emily and Allen (the chef) for the day of our menu tasting. Everyone was so wonderful, taking their time to make us feel comfortable and explain all the options that were available to us. We were very happy with the menu we chose for the day of. Allen was very open and accommodating to help us meet dietary restrictions of some of our guests.
Both Brenda and Emily were always responsive and followed up with updates and notes after each of our meetings. Since we planned all our own wedding this was really fantastic and much appreciated! They were also very sweet in helping us implement last minute changes such as updating meals for our vendors, not to mention we forgot our cake topper the day-of and they were absolutely wonderful in letting us know and getting it back to us.
Our day-of coordinator, Candace, reached out prior to our wedding to make sure we had everything we needed and to answer any questions we might have had. She was such a blessing to have the day of the wedding as well, having her there let us know everything would be taken care of.
We can't thank the Claxton/M7 team enough for all their wonderful work and help in making our wedding day perfect!
We had our wedding at Claxton Farm in July and they far exceeded our expectations. The venue was gorgeous, the staff was friendly and efficient, food was great. I could go on and on. A huge thank you to Claxton Farms and the staff for making our wedding day perfect.
Could not have had a better experience planning my wedding with the staff at M7 Events and Claxton Farm. Everyone was prompt, professional, and wanted nothing more than for our day to go perfectly - which it absolutely did. In fact, everything exceeded my expectations! We had some very last minute changes because of the weather, but you would have never known. Inside, outside, rain or shine, this place is heaven. Thank you Treva, Brenda, Jackie, and the entire staff for making our dreams come true!
Claxton Farm was absolutely perfect for us. It provided the views, the rustic feel, and incredible staff that made sure we had EVERYTHING we needed from start to finish. Treva and Brenda were so helpful throughout the entire process, and I can't say enough about our day of bridal attendant, Jackie. She made sure we had everything we needed and certainly made sure we didn't go hungry or thirsty! And Chocolate Chip... well he stole the show! Thank you to everyone at Claxton for providing us such a beautiful place to create amazing memories.
People kept asking me if I was stressed with my up coming wedding, and I could honestly say no because Claxton staff took care of it all! I got so many compliments on my wedding venue and scenery! It is truly stunning and it's exactly what I had pictured in my mind for our wedding. Treva and Brenda made planning a breeze and I couldn't have done it without them. Many of my guests commented that our food was the best wedding food they have ever had, and I don't think they were just being nice because we agreed. They went out of their way to make special meals for my vegetarian and gluten/dairy free friends! If I had to do it over, I would have my wedding there again in a heartbeat.
Claxton was absolutely the most beautiful wedding venue ever! Treva and Brenda were both so amazing during the planning stage, and they kept me on track and stress free all the way up to the wedding day! Our bridal attendant, Jackie, was incredible. She made sure that my husband and I were fed and taken care of during our photo session. She was instrumental in making sure that everything ran smoothly and that I was able to enjoy my wedding day without a care in the world! Additionally, I received a ton of compliments on M7's waitstaff. They were friendly, efficient, and did an incredible job setting up all our decorations. M7's catering was also delicious and I got even more compliments on the food!
Long story short, the farm is absolutely beautiful, the staff is friendly and courteous, and the food was wonderful. I can't wait to go there for someone else's wedding so I can experience it all over again!
There are not enough good things to say about Claxton. Everything about our wedding day was perfect and that was largely because of them. Treva and Brenda are AMAZING to work with in planning; they make everything so easy to figure out, are so accommodating, nice, and responsive. They treated all our requests like it was a breeze, and were always so easy to ask a million questions. They are so seamless in their work and their communication.
On the day of, Scott and Jackie were also amazing! The day went off largely without a hitch, and they were always in the background making sure everything was perfect without being overbearing or making their presence too obvious. I can't thank them enough for all of their incredible help.
The venue - my goodness, the venue. We heard so many married couples saying they wished they had gotten married at Claxton. We had a little bit of rain before the ceremony, but that just meant rainbows during the reception! You look around and you just get a 360* view of the mountains, secluded just you and your loved ones (and some awesome animals), and it's like a dream come true. Honestly, it was beyond perfect. It was everything we hoped for. The food was great, too - the trout cakes were SO GOOD, and the apps were awesome. I'd recommend this place to everyone out there.
We picked Claxton Farm for our November destination wedding in Asheville without actually visiting it in person, but after we had our first site visit, we knew that it was the perfect venue for our rustic elegant wedding. Brenda was a pleasure to work with throughout the process, and she and Treva responded to emails in less than 1 day usually. The event staff were on top of everything the night of our wedding and reception, and everything went off perfectly; however, I did have a few issues.
Costs became higher and higher, and it felt like every little thing was double the price. Lemon slices for each guest were going to cost 50 cents per person, when honestly, you could buy 20 lemons for $10 for 100 guests instead of paying $50. Also, we were shocked to find out that the cost of having a ceremony rehearsal is an additional $200! And next year, it will go up to $250. We saved our money and had a rehearsal at another outdoor venue, and it turned out fine. Lastly, at the reception, the food was not hot, but cold or lukewarm, though it was passable. Claxton won't let you bring in outside catering, which we knew about, but for a foodie town like Asheville, you would hope for better quality food.
Even though this is a bit of a critical review, all in all, we wouldn't have had our wedding elsewhere and couldn't have asked for a more gorgeous setting.
Based on setting alone, Claxton Farm easily merits a five-star review. Breathtaking mountain vistas, a beautiful modern “barn” and an absolutely perfect lake are just a few of the fairytale qualities of this intangibly perfect location. Having never seen the farm, our liaison, Triva Scott, leading up to the wedding was a consummate professional, and an invaluable resource for any questions or concerns that popped into our heads as the stress started to mount. Given the location, it is a very popular venue, and as such, was very busy the weekend of our wedding; this is where some cracks started to show. We were given a “day of” coordinator whose job description was vastly overstated to us, and who was ostensibly brought into the loop at the last minute. Small details we discussed with Ms. Scott were lost in the transfer, and the helpfulness of our new “assistant” was limited by her true responsibilities as a manager of the Claxton staff. They failed to mention they did not have a freezer when the groom's ice cream cake was delivered, so no groom's cake was had. And when we called to ask of it's whereabouts we were told they're not sure what happened to it, but there's no freezer so it's "gone, sorry." In the end, the fact that our table “scheme” was lost and the mother of the bride was running around to pick up the slack seem to matter little in comparison with the end result.
I'll admit I was a picky bride and wanted to feel at a venue, the way I felt about my groom- love at first site and absolutely perfect for me! We looked at a bunch of different venues around Asheville, and found issues with most of them. When driving up to Claxton Farm, we knew that would be where we would get married. The venue has a gorgeous updated Barn with lovely bathrooms, a great indoor/outdoor bar, and tons of natural light with opening garage door for outside dancing. It has a giant field where we had our ceremony, a lovely pond and willow tree for amazing photographs, and amazing staff! The best thing about Claxton was all the help from the staff. I must have sent 50 emails during our planning process, and each was replied to within days or hours! They are incredibly organized and on top of all sorts of little details I never would have thought of. The wedding ceremony and reception happened without a single flaw! Everything was perfect. We had a bridal attendant who got us drinks and water, and made sure we were able to eat during the reception. They kept us on track during the reception so we really didn't have to worry about a single thing! I am so happy we chose Claxton. The only advice I would give is if you plan to bring home the leftover food, you must do so the night of the wedding or they will give the leftovers to the farm workers the next morning. All in all, it was the perfect venue and a lovely wedding that matched my dreams!
Spectacular views, delicious food, and accommodating and detail-oriented staff! Our July wedding at Claxton could not have been more prefect! We opted for passed hor d'oeuvres, a buffet of grilled chicken and steak, and s'mores and all the guests raved about how delicious everything tasted. Micah and Tanya were both such a pleasure to work with and made sure the event went off without a hitch! Highly recommend Claxton Farms, especially in light of the reasonable price!
The most gorgeous setting for a great price. I am from Atlanta and it was worth the drive to have sucha unique wedding. Food was awesome that was provided by M7... and Micah, my wedding coordinator was awesome!
The venue has amazing views, beautiful indoor space (barn), the ladies who coordinate everything are very helpful, reasonably priced food, great staff on the day of. A destination bride's dream. I didn't worry about a thing and everything went as planned.
Claxton Farm is by far the most gorgeous mountain backdrop setting for a farm wedding in the Asheville area. We looked around at many different farms, but this one had a staff (run by M7) who were wedding and event experts. My one complaint was the lack of coordination done by the bridal attendant on the day of the wedding. I would suggest getting a wedding planner if you are the type of bride who doesn't want any questions asked of you on your day. The barn where the reception is held is just awesome and the staff and my friends did an amazing job decorating it. The staff was also very accommodating to my fiance and my ideas - even if they were a bit out of the ordinary. Overall, my guests, me and my husband had an amazing time!
Claxton Farm is gorgeous, the food is tasty and thoughtfully prepared, and your guests will remember their experience there for a long, long time. Best of all, the staff at Claxton is superb: professional, knowledgable, great attention to detail. They didn't miss a thing, and made it possible for us to focus on the ceremony, our friends and family.
