Ashley with Clever Cakes is simply the best. She has brought our ambitious tiered cake designs to life for multiple Lovestruck brides. We are always amazed by the creations that arrive on wedding day. They are beyond perfect. Not to mention, her cake tasks amazing. We have had A LOT of wedding cake over the past ten years and her cake remains our favorite. We love hearing guests and other vendors giving it a try on the wedding day and exclaiming with amazement at the lightness and flavor. We look forward to many more events with Ashley! We hired Ashley to make our wedding cake and groomscake. Her cake flavors are so delicious, we literally couldn’t pick between them so we made each tier a different flavor. The cakes turned out ever better than we could have imagined! Ashley was so sweet and great to work with!

We could not recommend Ashley enough! Not only was our cake BEAUTIFUL, but it was sooo delicious too! It was so fun to taste all the flavors beforehand, but it was so hard not to choose them all! Her cakes are stunning and so tasty. We received so many compliments. She completely understood my vision and somehow perfectly matched our floral colors and design. 10/10 would recommend - she is the best!!!

We loved our wedding cake! Ashley was really great to work with and responded to emails quickly. We did a at-home tasting which was great! She gave us samples of cakes we wanted to try and it was so good. I found Ashley on Instagram and fell in love with her hand painted buttercream look and that's exactly what we got. We showed her inspiration pictures and she made it come to life. We loved our cake and definitely recommend Clever Cakes!

We used Clever Cakes for both our wedding and grooms cake! It was just what we had envisioned and tasted even better! We didn't have a single piece of cake left at the end of the night, so clearly our guests enjoyed it as well! She was responsive and we truly enjoyed our experience.

Clever Cakes provided the most beautiful and delicious cake for my daughter’s wedding this weekend! Very professional, arrived and set up on time. So many compliments on the beauty of the cake and on the flavor. Flavor layers were vanilla bean and raspberry lemon. The raspberry lemon was the absolute best! So moist and rich in flavor. Would highly recommend this vendor.

Working with Ashley at Clever Cakes was a dream! It’s almost like she was able to crawl into our heads and see our dream cake, and she brought it to life! I loved all the glitz and glam (Gatsby wedding) that she incorporated, and the designs were stellar! It fit right in with all our décor and looked absolutely beautiful. I also am a crazy fan of coconut, so to be able to have my favorite flavor on my wedding was, well, the icing on the cake!

We were so thrilled with our daughter’s exquisite and delicious wedding cake. Clever Cakes had previously done such a splendid job on her engagement cake, so we knew Ashley was THE one to create a cake for the wedding. Absolutely loved working with Ashley for our wedding cake! My mother found her at a wedding event, and literally did not stop raving about her cakes and required we hire here for our wedding, and she truly did not disappoint! She was super easy to work with and understanding when we postponed our wedding twice. The cake was delicious and beautiful, couldn't have asked for anything more! We were thrilled with Clever Cakes! First we were looking for cakes with FLAVOR, and after a tasting we opted for: double strawberry for our traditional white cake, and for a fun KC Chiefs cake we did chocolate on the bottom tier and red velvet on top. The cakes looked AMAZING. Ashley was very easy to work with and gave us every confidence that we could count on her to deliver, which she did.

Ashley, Wow! I wanted to let you know how pleased we were with the wedding cake. It was SOOOO delicious, moist & beautiful! Your Italian buttercream is to die for! You delivered exactly what my daughter wanted & the fresh florals & berrie arrangements were GORGEOUS! We had so many comments about how the cake was the best tasting wedding cake they ever had. Clever Cakes made the most gorgeous and delicious cake for our wedding. Ashley could not be easier to work with. We thought we needed 175 serving in a combination of a three tiered cake and then kitchen cakes for the remaining servings. We asked for three favors – vanilla, chocolate, and pumpkin. Trust us and get the pumpkin cake-it is out of this world delicious. When our guest count dropped to 115, Ashley was flexible and easily modified the number of servings and even changed the flavors for the different tiers so that we could get the best ratios for all three flavors. Originally, I thought I had wanted a classic white three-tiered cake decorated with flowers, but a month or so the wedding, I saw a cake that she had done with pinks and oranges with flecks of gold in a water color design. When I contacted Ashley about doing something similar with greens she embraced the idea and WOW the cake Ashley created was simply gorgeous. She added the flowers supplied by Craig Sole Designs which really just took the whole look over the top. The cake was just as delicious as it was gorgeous and we and our guests loved it.

We hired Clever Cakes for our wedding cake because we loved her painted butter cream designs! She came up with an abstract design in our wedding color scheme that was inspired by a piece of art at our venue. It was gorgeous and delicious. Our wedding cake was one of the highlights of our day, both in design and taste!

We hired Ashley for our wedding cake and have zero regrets! She was professional, quick to respond, and the cake was incredible!! Ashley was flexible when we shifted our style and was easily able to accommodate the changes. We got many comments on how great it was and the unique design. Highly recommend clever cakes!

Ashley is amazing. She was so helpful and I never once doubted choosing to hire her to make our wedding cake + cupcakes. She even worked into her busy wedding schedule to make a birthday cake for my day-of-coordinator whose birthday was on our wedding day. We were so surprised by Ashley work, we showed her a picture and gave her our wedding colors and name of my favorite flowers and she made such a creative art 🥰❤️ We loved the cake so delicious and so pretty tht we felt bad to even cut it 🥺. Ashley was so great and easy to work with. We ordered pumpkin spice for the wedding and they were such a huge hit! Everyone was telling us they were the best cakes they’ve ever had. Not only were they delicious, but beautiful as well!

We loved Ashley the moment we hired her to do our wedding cake! She was extremely knowledgeable as to what she does, sweet, and extremely professional! We loved our cake taste tastings. On our wedding day, the cake turned out amazing. The cake itself was also delicious, moist. We were going to save our cake top tier for a couple of months down the road, but the cake was so good WE ATE IT ALL THE NEXT DAY! The red velvet, chocolate, and vanilla were delicious!

I am still dreaming about our wedding cake it tasted so good. Ashley knows her way around an oven - let me tell you. My mouth is watering just from the thought of her cake and icing. Her icing is an Italian buttercream style, so its got the perfect amount of sweetness. Our wedding guests could not get enough of her cake and cupcakes she made for us. Ashley is so talented with how her cakes tastes, but she is also so talented on how she decorates them. They are all drop-dead gorgeous. Seriously, they look even better in person (if that is even possible!). Everything about Clever Cakes is so sweet. Even Ashley herself! She is super understanding and kind. There was a huge mix up with her cake and cupcake stands at our wedding - and she was SO UNDERSTANDING. Seriously, Ashley is an absolute queen and we LOVED working with her. We cannot recommend her enough. Everything about Clever Cakes was perfect and I wish we could get married all over again. BOOK HER ASAP - YOU WON'T REGRET IT!

Ashley baked a delicious two-tier cake and decorated it beautifully for our wedding. I do not have a single complaint! It was moist and not overly sweet.

Our experience with Clever Cakes was absolutely awesome. The flavors were wonderful. The Italian buttercream is simply spectacular and velvety. I needed to add additional cupcakes with a week or so to go and that process was seamless and very flexible. Everyone wanted to know who did the cake and cupcakes because they were not only beautiful but also very delicious!

We ordered our wedding cake from Ashley and could not have been happier with the entire experience! From the tasting early 2020 (pre covid) to our wedding November 21st she communicated with me the entire time. I knew I did not have to worry about the cake, and I was right! It was BEAUTIFUL and tasted amazing! We had lots of compliments all night as well. You cannot go wrong with Ashley! I have also ordered a birthday cake/cupcakes for my son's birthday from her and those were fabulous as well. Highly, highly recommend!

I ordered a two tier wedding cake plus a birthday cake because our wedding day happened to fall on one of our guests birthday. The first tier's flavor was Orange Spice & Caramel, the second tier was Pumpkin Spice and the birthday cake was White Raspberry. Not only was Ashley extremely kind and helpful but her cakes tasted amazing and were so beautiful. I have guests still raving about the cakes. Ashley worked with me and turned my ideas for the cake design into a work of art. Thank you so much Ashley for your hard work, your cakes made our day even more special!

Best decision ever to hire Ashley! My fiancé and I had to postpone our large Miami wedding due to COVID, so we decided to do an elopement ceremony in KC. I found Ashley's instagram, and fell in love! She was so professional and helpful throughout the entire planning process, which was super stressful since we are located in California. She went out of her way to make sure that we were able to get a tasting box when we were in town (not on a day when she usually does tastings!). The cake was DELICIOUS, and our wedding cake couldn't have turned out more perfect. Hire Ashley, you will not be sorry!

WOW! Ashely from Clever Cakes did such a wonderful job making my dream wedding cake. We had tried multiple cakes from other vendors and didn't think they were the right fit. Then, about 2 months before our wedding, I stumbled across Clever Cakes on Instagram. Her cakes we GORGEOUS. I knew this was the perfect match for me. Ashley was so quick to respond and laid out all of the details for us. I sent her a picture of what my bouquet would look like and she recreated painted buttercream flowers on my cake...it was stunning. I also never tasted any of Ashley's cakes from Clever Cakes before our big night. We just prayed it would be good! We ended up getting a lemon cake with raspberry buttercream filling. My first bite of this cake was on my wedding night and WOW! It was moist and delicious and my guests raved about it! Ashley, you're amazing. Thank you for making my dream wedding cake come to life!

Clever Cakes knocked it out of the park! Our cake was as beautiful as it was tasty. Our guests couldn't stop raving about the honey pistachio flavor, yum!! Ashley was absolutely wonderful to work with. She was very responsive and flexible! We will definitely be back again for a cake to celebrate our first anniversary! Ashley was absolutely amazing! Due to COVID, I did not get to physically sit down with Ashley and discuss what I expected. So all of our meetings were over the phone and me texting her countless pictures of what I wanted. However, I did a porch pick up sampling. Her raspberry is absolutely fantastic, so of course we had to have that one for our guests. We wanted a small bride/groom Red Velvet cake with cream cheese frosting. IT WAS TO DIE FOR. So creamy and dreamy.

Ashely is super Friendly and helped us figure out exactly what we wanted. Her cakes and icing reminded me of the cakes my grandma used to make and gave my wife and I a distinct home made feeling. Her painted icing designs were stunning! We’ve never seen anything like it and thoroughly enjoyed the cake she delivered and set up for us! We 100% recommend her for any of your baking needs!

Ashley did our wedding cake and cupcakes and they were to die for!!! My wedding planner picked them up and she said it was so easy! Ashley was very easy to work with and had fast responses. If you’re trying to find someone for your big day don’t hesitate to go with clever cakes!!!!

We were clued in to Ashley at Clever Cakes by our DJ. After our tasting it was no question that we were going to have her do our wedding cake. The cake was delicious (definitely have to have the pistachio) and GORGEOUS! Our photographer commented how beautiful the cake was and how well it photographed. I cannot wait to order some cake for our 1st anniversary!

I used Clever Cakes for my wedding! Ashley was so easy to work with and her cake is AMAZING! I love her pistachio with honey buttercream. Everything from the cake tasting, to setting up day of went so smoothly! I cannot recommend her enough!

Ashley at Clever Cakes is a master of cake! She did our wedding in October of 2018 and created a 2-tiered cake with copper accents that was (almost) too gorgeous to eat. We also did an assortment of cupcake flavors, each one was a delicious concoction of cake paired with filling and a frosting top. She added extra flourishes with flowers from our florist to really make the whole thing specific for our wedding. The cake was even pretty good after a year of freezing on our anniversary! We were so impressed with Ashley and Clever Cakes that we used her for my FiL's 70th birthday! She created a cake that looked like a stack of waffles complete with "butter pads" and syrup! Once again, the cake was nearly too gorgeous to eat. She is also a breeze to work with and sends helpful reminders if you're a bride like me that isn't very detail orientated. I cannot recommend Ashley or Clever Cakes enough!

Clever Cakes is phenomenal!! We tried a sample of her cake at a bridal show and immediately knew we needed to schedule a tasting. So many cakes we tried with other vendors were totally forgettable or simply not tasty. Clever Cakes are the total opposite. At our first meeting with Ashley, we were able to try a variety of cake and icing flavors, all of which were incredible. She worked with us to create a perfectly unique flavor profile. We chose a pistachio cake with an orange buttercream icing. It was incredibly good, exactly what we were looking for and her rates are very reasonable. Ashley also made certain to capture our aesthetic and perfectly executed the look we wanted for the finished cake. It was gorgeous!! So many of our guests were raving about it and the photos are beautiful. Ashley was so lovely to work with from start to finish. You can tell she is a professional and takes a lot of pride in her work, and rightly so. I cannot recommend Clever Cakes enough! You will not be disappointed.
