Where do I begin? Jes is truly the best of the best! We had a tight turn around for our wedding and still can't believe we managed to get Jes as our photographer - a true dream come true. Her photos are timeliness and dramatic, which is exactly what we wanted. Our guests haven't stopped raving about our gallery being one of the best they've ever seen and we couldn't agree more. Not only are her photos unparalleled, but she is so easy and fun to work with. My husband and I were immediately put at ease as Jes walked us through the whole process. The photos are absolutely stunning, but best of all they truly capture the emotion of the day. Hi I'm obsessed with Jes. It's been over six months since our wedding and I STILL drool over the pictures! My now husband and I are definitely NOT the "light and airy" kind of couple, and instead wanted something between the dramatic side but also fun and playful (we had scooters for god's sake). Jes (and Luke! Luke was our second photographer and also super dope!) both helped make that vision a reality and again, I'm obsessed with her. Jes is incredible! We were blown away by her talent and were awe struck when we saw our sneak peek photos. Not only is she insanely talented but she is so fun to work with! Jes Clewell is one of Minneapolis's greatest artists. Not only is she talented, she was such a pleasure to work with. I felt like an absolute movie star working with her. She demonstrated extreme professionalism and confidence in her craft--but also she was just so fun to be around during a very emotional day. On my wedding day, Jes and her team made myself, my husband, and our bridal party feel comfortable, heard, and beautiful. The photos are simply my favorite possession now—if you book Jes you will LOVE your wedding photos in such a way that I never thought was possible. She created a balance of modern and timeless shots which look like they are out of a celebrity wedding shoot--it's truly marvelous. When I got my photos back, I just thought how she truly captured how my heart felt. I know this is a long review, but truly, book her. At the very least, look through her photos and appreciate not only the shots but the extremely time intensive editing. She puts in so much time and effort into her work to make each couple feel good on the day and look good in the photos. I swear, we could’ve gotten married in a shack and she would’ve made it look cool

The most EXCEPTIONAL photographer. We found Jess as she did some friends’ weddings and we fell in love with her style, energy, approach, work, and product. We were a Covid wedding and postponed and rescheduled too many times and Jess was amazing and flexible throughout. She was amazing to work with with the experience to handle anything, including awkward couples that look silly in front do the camera. Her work speaks for itself- It’s incredible. Couldn’t recommend enough.

We found Jes on instagram and approached her because her photo style is artistic, unique, and interesting. We are SO glad we booked her. We chose Clewell Photography because of their editorial style. All of their photos look like they came straight out of a magazine​. We knew we wanted a natural timeless edit on our photos and were disappointed to see how many photographers have such strange colors for couple's hair and skin. We love that Jes has been so helpful during the planning process - sending us vendor recommendations, helping with the timeline, tips to make the day run smoother, etc.

We got married in 2012 but we continue to use Jes every year for family photos and have recommended her to EVERY friend or family member who has gotten married since 2012. We could not be happier she came into our lives.

We met with so many photographers before meeting with Jes. She was so quick to respond to our initial email and we set up a meeting at her studio the very next day. The studio was so her with stark white walls and modern furniture. We chatted over a bottle of wine and knew from the first 5 minutes that our search for a photographer was over. She asked about us and didn’t even start talking about photography for the first 20 minutes. She answered all our questions as well as questions we didn’t even think about. We just had our engagement photos done last week. Neither of us are very photogenic or comfortable in front of the camera but by the end we felt so natural and the teasers she sent us were incredible. We absolutely can’t wait for her to capture our wedding next fall!

Jess was an absolute dream to work with. She was so sweet and professional and I still get comments from my family about how great she was. My sister and best friend have also hired her for their weddings in 2020.

Jes from Clewell Photography is fantastic. Aside from being uber talented, Jes directs her subjects in a way that keeps things running smoothly and efficiently and makes you completely at ease. On the day of our wedding, we didn't have to watch the time because Jes was taking care of that. She and her second shooter had scoped out our venue (which they'd never photographed in prior to our wedding), before the event. This ensured that they knew right where to take us to get the best shots. We had a large bridal party (18 total) plus two dogs but Jes wasn't overwhelmed by anything and managed the crowd with ease. I don't have all of my photos back yet but she gave us some sneak peaks literally 6 hours after our wedding ended and they are breathtaking. I don't have anything less than glowing to say about this vendor. Easy to get ahold of, worked well with our other vendors/wedding planner to create our timeline, photographed everyone to make them look their best, and was a pleasure to work with in terms of personality. I can not recommend Clewell Photography enough!!! Jes is the coolest human and a phenomenal photographer - incredibly professional but definitely brings the fun. Really creative shots that end up looking even more spectacular than expected. Editorial style with a mix of classic vibe. Very flexible with location and her eye for how to make ordinary shots extraordinary is remarkable. We booked her with an associate and they worked as such a good team! They really listened to what we wanted but were not afraid to give input to make sure the shots we wanted worked out. I can't wait to basically wallpaper our bedroom with photographs from our engagement shoot and wedding. The hardest part is narrowing down my 300 favorite shots to a more manageable number!!!

Legitimately the best decision my husband and I made for the wedding was having Jessie and Kris photograph it. Our engagement pictures were amazing. I still obsess over them a year later! Our sneak peek pictures from the wedding were even better than we had ever hoped. We plan to use Jes for our family photos and any other pictures we might need in the future!!

Jes and Kris are true professionals. We couldn't have asked for a better experience! I was so nervous about finding the right photographer for our wedding. These two. Epitome of cool. Have you seen their work? If so, I shouldn't need to say anything else then, but I will because they are so amazing. My wife and I both love photography – it was actually something that brought us together – and we hired them before we had done anything else for the wedding. Their pictures have a simplicity and beauty that I am continually impressed with, and I really admire their talent. To capture those kinds of images, you have to reflect those things as a person, and they both do. They are humble, genuine, and funny people whose presence makes you confident and at ease. Before taking pictures together, we were nervous about what it was going to be like. How often do you pose and kiss your significant other in front of someone comfortably unless you’re a Kardashian? But we showed up at our first meeting with Jes and were mildly obsessed with her ability and ease. They direct you in a way that makes the whole thing entirely natural and fun, which is a real testament to their skill and enjoyment of what they do. It’s only three days after the wedding, and I’ve already had my entire family and dozens of friends comment on how amazing their photographs are – and they’ve only sent a few! Last piece of advice (besides hiring them immediately to take pictures of anything in your life that could possibly need picture taking), get the Unbooth. The pictures are not only incredible quality, but I have lost count of how many guests told me it was the most fun they had at the wedding. Plus, my entire Facebook news feed has been filled with friends posting and commenting on their pictures today, because your guests can download them the very next day! We LOVE the Clewells.

Our main photographer was Jess Clewell from Clewell Photography. Her and her assistant David were incredible. You could tell that she is passionate and knowledgeable about her work. My new husband and I felt so relaxed and comfortable during the whole day. Her and David were organized, quick, and fun to work with! Jess shot timeless, classic, but yet unique photos. If there was one thing that people always told me that they regretted about their wedding was that they didn't have a quality photographer. I wanted to make sure that didn't happen for our wedding and Clewell Photography did not disappoint. They were worth every single penny We couldn't be more pleased with our photos and are so grateful that she was able to capture our once in a life time day!

If you read nothing else, read this: of all the major expenses of our wedding, the Clewells were the only that really exceeded our expectations. Our meal was delicious, our music was fun, our planners were great, and everything was beautiful. But the Clewells really blew us away. Their photos are amazing, but nearly as important is how great they are to work with. Remember this - they're immersed in your Big Day for HOURS. If you can't work with your photographer, you'll be miserable. Kris and Jes are great! We talked and laughed like we'd known each other for years. Of course, personalities are different, and this may not be the same for you. So, the photos. Study after study show how imperfect human memory is. You wedding photos are the best anchor you have back to what was happening that day. You'll have them forever. Kris and Jes will make sure your memories look amazing.

Some brides care most about their flowers. Some care most about the food. I care most about what will last beyond this one special day (besides the vows): the photos. When choosing a photographer, I did a lot of research. Since photos mean so much to me, I wasn't willing to compromise on quality. When I found Clewell Photography, I knew they were the ones. We just had our engagement shoot with Jessie, and it was so much fun! She spent time making sure to capture every detail, and somehow even managed to snap what I consider to be an insane amount of good photos of us (I am not photogenic at all). While this service isn't cheap, I'm a true believer in "you get what you pay for." In fact, for an e-shoot, boudoir shoot, and 8-hours of the wedding day, I think the price is very reasonable... a perfect package!

Kris & Jes are extremely talented photographers. You can easily see that by looking at their work. They capture the beauty and emotions of that day perfectly. They take beautiful photographs in a professional, organized manner. They share suggestions to make the day go smoothly, even on non-photography topics. They have a lot of experience with weddings so we were grateful for all the input. They are very flexible and supportive throughout the process and are very prompt at responding to questions! They send a few pictures by email the day after the engagement shoot & the wedding while they go through all the photos, which I think is so thoughtful! Of course everyone is so excited to see all the photos! The Unbooth is a great addition! Way better than a traditional photobooth. You get professional quality photos in a normal photo size. Guests don't go home with a strip of mini pictures but can see all the photos online the next day and download what they want. Props are provided at no additional charge. My guests loved the Unbooth and wished they would have used it more. Not only are Kris & Jes talented artists, they are great people - so likable! It is evident that they love each other, they love their job, and they love their clients. These are the people you want around on your wedding day!

I was a bridesmaid in a wedding that Kris & Jessie photographed. I thought I had a pretty good photographer for my wedding but boy was I wrong!!! Kris & Jessie went above and beyond for our friends taking charge of the day making sure everything was staying on time without rushing us. The formals were so fast and well organized it was like we were done before we even started. I've been in many weddings and I've never seen it go anywhere close to that smooth. If I ever get married again (let's pray I don't) they will be my only choice for photographers.

You will not find better photographers in the Minneapolis area. Kris & Jes took amazing pictures for our wedding and were the perfect combination that we needed to have a relaxed day and to get through things in a timely manner. We had 5 kids, ranging from 18 months to 12 years old in our wedding and they were so patient during formal pictures...and more importantly they got GREAT shots, even with a rainy day! They clearly have an eye for fantastic art, because we couldn't be happier with our photos!!!
