We hosted a 50-person wedding there in May, using the patio and overlook rooms for ceremony and reception. Everything was amazing. It was fun working with Kasey and Bogie because a...

t times they seemed just as excited as we were. Everything was set up how we had requested it, including the outside chairs, and they worked with the rental company on our behalf to make it so. The food was great, especially the roasted sweet potatoes and airline chicken. The sound system was good quality, and the TV was perfect for our slideshow. The serving staff was friendly and attentive, clearing out dishes as soon as they were finished. Everyone loved breakfast in the Hoffman room. It's a bit less fancy than the Overlook, but it was fine for our purposes. I'd recommend doing a send-off breakfast like ours if other couples have a weekend wedding there because it gave everyone a chance to say goodbye. Thanks for making it a great weekend!

ding up to the event I spoke with their coordinator, Kasey, over the course of probably a hundred emails. She was always fast to respond, kind, and communicative. She took so much off my plate with all the effort she put into organizing our day, and I am so grateful. We had our wedding ceremony outdoors in the patio area and our reception in the Overlook Room # 1. The patio is truly gorgeous. It felt like a fairytale to be married overlooking the water on a clear day. The reception room also had a beautiful view of the scenery outside, and plenty of space for my wedding party to host our karaoke reception. I worked mostly with Bogie on site to make sure everything went off without a hitch the day of, but truly every member of the staff was so accommodating and kind. They all went above and beyond. The catering was amazing, the bartender was so nice and helpful, even the staff at breakfast and dinner the day before treated us so well. Staying at the inn was a treat in and of itself. Our room was lovely and comfortable, and you cannot beat the view of the surrounding park from your window in the morning! Our family and others who attended my wedding have been so complimentary toward us, but we wouldn't have had such a wonderful wedding day if it weren't for the amazing venue and the amazing people there who helped make it happen. I really feel like I had a perfect wedding thanks to all of you. Thank you SO much!

bonus that they could enjoy the park during the day before the wedding. I have two reasons for giving four stars instead of five: Unlike other venues we looked at, they did not offer coordination services. Kim, the sales director, was very helpful and willing to go out of her way to make our day perfect, but there were multiple occasions where I would receive a response to an email with only some of my questions answered, or she would not remember a detail that we had already confirmed, sometimes more than once. The other issue was that our buffet was set up a little late. It was not a huge deal, but since we were actually running early it meant that we had guests waiting in line with no food to serve them. That being said, our wedding day was wonderful, and the staff was all very friendly and helpful. If we had to make the decision over, we would choose Clifty Inn again without hesitation.

g to that point. We had 2 food tastes before the wedding, each of which were TERRIBLE. The food tasted worse than nursing home food. I cried over the fact that I would have to serve that food to my guests, let alone pay $20 per person for the buffett. My guests had a really hard time booking rooms. (most of our guests were from out of town and had never been to Madison). They would call and be told to call back the next day bc the receptionist could see that there were rooms open in the block, but couldn't figure out how to book the rooms, so they needed someone else to do it. Everything we planned with them was an issue. Including them charging the guests to pay the $5 park fee for our event. The beautiful venue was not worth the stress caused by the event manager throughout the whole process. Only book this venue if you have a lot of money to waste and a lot of time to spend arguing.
