Erica was wonderful to work with leading up to the wedding and helped us so much with things like the timeline that she almost seemed like our wedding planner. They made sure to capture all of the specific shots we requested (first look on Cadillac Mountain, group photo of all 150+ guests) and got so many more great candid photos than we were expecting. Within just a few short weeks, we received over a thousand edited photos in both color and black&white. bsolutely fantastic to work with. I was planning my wedding from 4,000 miles away and did not have a wedding coordinator. Erica offered her experienced advice, schedule of events suggestions, etc. and answered all and any questions that I had. She was very timely with responses which was a relief for me. Our whole wedding timeline/order of events were based on suggestions that she had made based on her experience and I was able to use the order of events that she suggested to provide to the DJ and caterer and it went very smoothly. The day of our wedding was the first time I had met Erica in person (since we lived so far away we did not do engagement photos and were not able to meet up ahead of time due to my schedule but she did offer these options). Her and Jordan both were very friendly and did a great job at making us feel comfortable. She even provided advice while we were getting ready for the wedding i.e. subtly reminding the bridesmaids to take hair ties off their wrists etc. I told her a few shots that I wanted but after the wedding realized I completely forgot to tell her about some of the others, to my surprise, as I was going through the photos, I found she had captured all of them, it was like she read my mind. She posted a preview of the pictures on social media in just a couple of days and I received a beautifully packaged USB drive of all of the pictures in just a couple of weeks after the event. All the images came edited and in both color and black and white. A lot of the images I don't even know how they captured them because it was like I didn't see them at that moment during the event, they captured the perfect images from the perfect angles without being in the way and without being noticed. I wanted all of the special moments captured but was worried about having photographers right up in our faces taking the "special" out of the moments. Well with Erica and Jordan you don't need to worry about that. Like I said they captured all the special moments and I didn't even notice they were there doing it. I am still in awe when I look through the images they provided. I am beyond happy with the images we received and the service provided by Closer North. I would recommend them to any couple looking for a wedding photographer.

She even got a great picture of my dog, who is extremely skittish and hard to photograph. The photographs came back quickly and were absolutely GORGEOUS! I cannot believe the quality of the photos! It takes talent to ensure that the live action shots and the staged shots are equally wonderful, but Erica accomplished that with ease. Erica was quick to respond and told me the exact costs without any hidden fees, which had set her apart from the handful of photographers I had contacted. To add to that, she was full of ideas for proposal locations within the park and knew the ins and outs of what it would take to make the surprise proposal to work. I was definitely nervous on the day of the proposal, but our photographer Danielle came in on time and captured the moment. My fiancée did not expect to have a professional engagement photo shoot at all and she loved every moment of it. Although it was only an hour before sunset, Danielle was so quick and was able to capture some awesome moments. She captured some really beautiful shots of the property and some great candids of our guests -- we were able to look through and relive the whole wedding and felt like we could slow it down and enjoy it all. She magically slipped in to catch people naturally, but also fit in with us and the guests so well that everyone loved her and was happy to get together for group poses--after the wedding several people commented on how much they loved having her there. Our experiences with owner Erica, and photographer Ember, were exceptional in every way. Ember is a delight- she is fun, energetic, creative, seeks client input on what photos they wold like, and yet is unobtrusive. I also appreciated all of the time that she took gathering photos of the decorations of the reception tent prior to the guests arriving. Erica was also fantastic. I am proud to show them to others and have them featured on her website! Second, through the beauty of these photos, Erica's passion and dedication to her art is truly transparent. She is not just talented but also a very warm person and we felt an immediate connection with her upon our first meeting on Cadillac Mountain. Another thing I loved about Erica was that she was constantly on the go with ideas throughout both of our sessions. There was never a moment when she wasn't snapping a photo or thinking of something really creative to do either with posing us or our loved ones or by creatively capturing our wedding rings, dress, shoes, etc. She captured all the fine details of our special day so that nothing will go forgotten! Aside from how awesome she was for the main event, we first contacted Erica back in February, and she was fantastic as far as regularly communicating with us, helping us figure out how to plan or arrange our schedule for the day before and the day of, and even helped us to find a truly wonderful person to do my make-up (I was in a bit of a bind because all of the local salons had booked up very quickly for our chosen date); she even helped us find a local artist who hand-made a giant moon prop for the guests to take photos in at our wedding! She's a great go-to person for helping find other amazing artists and vendors within the community (so useful if you're planning a Maine destination wedding like we were!) We really loved our experience with Erica and I hope that we will have an opportunity to use her as our photographer again in the future!
