About this vendor
Club Del Monte is a historic wedding venue located in Monterey, CA. This Art Deco jewel is set amongst 25 acres of sprawling lawns dotted with oak, cypress, and pine. Constructed in 1926 as an elegant hotel, this building resembles a Spanish-Moorish citadel and has a gently commanding air. Frequented for decades by celebrities and socialites, the hotel was finally acquired in 1951 by the Navy for its Postgraduate School. Today, this illustrious landmark is once again making an impression, this time as a standout special occasion venue. Club Del Monte holds a treasure trove of site options, along with noteworthy catering, and as you'd expect from a naval facility, everything here is top-rank.
Club Del Monte offers both outdoor and indoor spaces for wedding festivities. Outside, you can enjoy the stunning Monterey Bay views from Crocker's Cove, a private space above Del Monte Beach. Peacock Lawn is a European-style rose garden with room for between 150 and 200 guests. The Roman Plunge and Solarium were both built in 1915 and, with recent renovations, can host up to 100 people. The Barbara McNitt Ballroom is a magnificent indoor area for dining and dancing, with five stunning chandeliers. This ornate and spacious room can host groups of between 150 and 600 seated guests and up to 1,000 standing guests. The El Prado Dining Room and the La Novia Room make excellent settings for more intimate gatherings. Whichever spaces you book for your special occasion, these beautiful premises are sure to be a fantastic backdrop for your wedding day.

If you love old-world glamor, you will love the Naval Postgraduate School as the setting for your wedding. The grounds are amazing, the ballroom is grand, and the veranda is like ...
something out of "The Great Gatsby." We held the ceremony on the Peacock Lawn and reception in the Barbara McNitt Ballroom and were very pleased with the whole experience.
The main contact was very thorough, helpful, and responsive and willing to work with our special requests. During the reception, the wait staff were attentive and there was never a service delay. We had a smaller wedding (94 people), so I'm not sure if the quality or speed of service would be affected at a bigger wedding. The food was amazing, but you are required to use the on-site catering, which may be a drawback for some people. Also, as it is on a military base, there are a few access lists one has to put together to ensure your guests get on base without any problems. These last 2 reasons are what dropped my overall rating to a 4, but they were pretty minor and certainly didn't detract from any aspect of our day, but are things people need to keep in mind if they choose this location.
