Clubhouse on South Temple

Clubhouse on South Temple is a historic venue in the heart of Salt Lake City. Boasting intricate details and ornate stained glass windows, the Clubhouse is one of the finest examples of Prairie School Architecture (think Frank Lloyd Wright) in Utah. From the charming front patio to the breath-taking auditorium, the Clubhouse is an endless exploration of space and light, perfect for special moments and timeless photographs. Facilities & Amenities Clubhouse reservations include the yard and patio, the entry and classic stained glass stairway, the upstairs library with overlooking balcony, the front "drawing room," the 2500 sqft auditorium, the 4' high performance stage, two back-stage green rooms, a beauty-bar hair & makeup bathroom, and the large catering kitchen. Reservations include all-day access, setup and cleanup, tables, chairs, discounted linens, audio and visual equipment, hosts, bussers, bartenders, and optional photo booth, catering, and bar service. Couples are welcome to use outside vendors upon approval. History Clubhouse was home to the Ladies' Literary Club (est. 1877), the oldest women's only social club west of the Mississippi River. The LLC was a forward thinking group of wealthy non-mormon women who focused on self-education through studies of literature, politics, history, art, drama, and poetry. Over time social clubs fell out of fashion and in 2013 the club donated the building to Preservation Utah, a non-profit focused on historic preservation. After rejecting several offers on the building, Preservation Utah accepted an offer from the local small business Photo Collective Studios who promised to keep the doors open to the public as a venue for creative arts and entertainment. Clubhouse hosts events ranging from weddings and parties to educational workshops and retreats.
