About this vendor
Hey! I'm Colby Campbell, a wedding photographer based out of Des Moines, IA, and I'm a professional hype man. It's my full-time job to create space for you to be your goofy, sappy self — and to put the joy and intimacy of your partnership on camera.
Fresh, never-boring photos are guaranteed. This is about YOU, after all. Telling your love story means we get to break the rules, and breaking the rules means no stiff poses, dead eyes, or pained smiles. I call it un-posed... you'll see what I mean.
Here’s the deal: We’re gonna get to know each other REAL well. I’m gonna play 20 questions about your life and relationship. We're gonna be in touch with our feelings. You’ll have the chance to roast your partner. If it gets steamy, it gets steamy — y'all are smokin’ hot, so it only makes sense.
This is not school picture day, so let’s all agree to bring the noise.
All wedding packages include digital downloads, engagement sessions, wedding day timeline consultations, and 50 miles of travel. A portion of proceeds from all weddings is donated to OneIowa, a nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of LGBT+ Iowans. Add-on items such as a second photographer, additional hourly coverage, polaroids, expedited 1-week delivery, heirloom wedding albums, and more are available.
Inquire for pricing and package information. We'll set up a quick phone call to make sure we vibe, talk through your vision for the wedding, and answer all your burning questions. I can't wait to meet you!

h in every photo. He made us feel so comfortable and natural in front of the camera, which made the whole experience so much fun and effortless. We couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out and are so grateful to have these memories captured so beautifully!

Colby is worth every.single.penny. As others have mentioned, we went into both engagement photos and wedding photos with grave apprehension; the whole thing felt so unlike "us." Bu...
t Colby’s energy changed everything. He's funny, calming, charming, adaptable, and extremely talented. He got my highly-introverted husband to open up; the same man who originally griped about the cost of wedding photos turned to me in the midst of our reception and said, “Colby was our best decision.” Could not agree more. Our families loved him, our friends loved him, and collectively, they will not stop raving about our photos. If you hire Colby, you don’t have to worry about the quality of his work for even a moment. He goes above and beyond to be your wedding-day wingman. Will absolutely, most definitely work with Colby Campbell Photography in the future.
Colby is amazing! If you want laid back photo sessions that showcase YOU and your personality, he’s your guy.
My husband and I met Colby while in college, and became friends with him. When my husband and I got engaged and started shopping around for photographers, we fell in love with Col...
by's style! His shots seemed candid, but organized. I would say Colby has a knack for getting the perfect moments. Colby is so much fun to work with! When he did our engagement session, he came out to my husband's family farm to capture the theme of our wedding. He was up for featuring the cattle and our dog in the photos. When our wedding came around, I sent him a list of the necessary poses and he figured out a schedule for the big day. It was such a great day working with him because he made it go so smoothly and feel effortless. I can't so enough how much I enjoyed working with him! Colby is so talented and the pictures are proof of that talent! The lighting, the sunsets, the poses, etc, are all things that make Colby stand out as the photographer you want behind the camera for your wedding or engagement sessions! I look forward to working with Colby more as he's branching into other realms, like family photos and newborn sessions. You CANNOT go wrong with Colby!!

Colby is also very warm, accepting, easy to get along with, supportive during wedding day tears (writing from my bride perspective!), and down to let you do the goofiest of photos while also capturing pure romance. 15/10 would recommend!!

as photographed several weddings that I have both worked (DJ) and been a part of (wedding party).
But perhaps most importantly, Colby went indescribably above-and-beyond to photograph my proposal, traveling 867 miles on little sleep in order to hide behind a church organ to capture perhaps the biggest moment in my life thus far.
His portfolio of work speaks for itself, but what the photos can't quite tell you directly is his Colby's charm and professionalism: His ability to take command of an event in order to capture every moment is unmatched, and he does so in a way that makes any subject behind the camera feel at both ease and full of joy.
There is not a person on earth I trust more behind a camera than Colby Campbell, and my recommendation for his services cannot be overstated. Hire him! :)

from beginning to end, made it happen on such short notice, and we couldn't be happier with our pictures. His creativity and experience helped us feel instantly at ease and he was so fantastic to work with. I would absolutely recommend him for any family, engagement, wedding or event!
