Collins Entertainment was fantastic! The planning process was very easy, and talking to Mitch and Jim just felt so natural. We had DJ Maurice for our wedding and he was absolutely incredible! Asked him to play the best part of songs and keep mixing all night, which is exactly what he did. All of our guests keep talking about how much fun the DJ was! Thank you!

Very happy with Collins Entertainment! They were professional the entire process and Maurice was very interactive on the wedding day. The dance floor was always filled and guests commented on how good the music was. Our requests and special songs were played and our specific requests were listened too. Maurice made sure to check in on our throughout the night as well, not just about the music but how we were doing in general which I thought was a nice touch! I was excited about booking Collins after seeing all the great reviews and my expectations were met!

DJ Jared provided much more than the soundtrack to our wedding. He arrived early to ensure the sound for our ceremony - including mics for our officiant and readers. For cocktail hour, he played the perfect mix of classic and contemporary music and was a great emcee for speeches throughout dinner. Once the dance floor opened, he incorporated our must-play songs with some of his own selections, as well as requests from our guests. It all added up to a great night with great energy.

We booked Collins Entertainment for our wedding by referral from a friend and they did not disappoint! Music was super important to setting the right vibe for our cocktail party reception and DJ Charlie nailed it! He seamlessly blended several styles of music and we danced all night long.

Jared was constantly checking in on us to make our night go smoothly, the music was so grest we didnt leave the dance floor all night! All of our guests said the music was awesome and all our feet hurt from dancing!

Collins Entertainment was great to work with throughout the whole process! Jim is great at running the company including helping plan for the event and give ideas and responding quickly to any questions, as well as providing monthly wedding checklists etc. DJ Jared was our DJ for the event and he did great job! He incorporated a mix of music we wanted and read the room well to keep the dance floor full! He was great with the transitions between songs and also did great at MC'ing. Would definitely recommend!

We are so happy we booked Collins Entertainment. From day 1 they had great support and communication. We used Collins Entertainment for our wedding this past Saturday July 15th, 2023. Maurice was our DJ and he was beyond phenomenal!!! He made sure everything was moving along accordingly; he improvised when he had to cover up any mishaps due to things out of our control, and nobody even noticed. Collins Entertainment was fantastic to work with for our wedding! They were very organized, detail-oriented, and committed to making sure everything ran smoothly. We appreciated being able to use their online portal to plan out our day. DJ Houston kept everyone on the dancefloor all night with perfect music selections and went above and beyond to capture audio of speeches from the microphones so we could relive those moments.

Couldn’t recommend Collins Entertainment enough. Jim is so easy and fun to work with and was so helpful in planning our reception timeline, music, etc. We worked with Collins Entertainment for our DJ, ambient lighting and a saxophone player for cocktail hour and all three of those services were perfect. We had our wedding this past Friday, October 21st and Elio was a AMAZING! Thank you and Elio for making our night possible and the BEST. Everyone had an amazing time and the dance floor was popping! DJ Maurice Review Megan and I booked Collins Entertainment to DJ our wedding in October of 2022. Collins Entertainment provided a unique client portal that allowed us to plan our day, and select certain “must play” songs, as well as “do not play” songs. In the weeks leading up to the wedding, we met with the owner, Jim Collins, several times on Zoom calls, and he was extremely helpful to us! Jim gave us several ideas that we incorporated into our day, and helped us to come up with an itinerary. This relieved a lot of stress in the weeks leading up, and allowed us to focus our time and energy elsewhere! Jim has over a decade of experience, and is truly a seasoned professional! DJ Maurice was ultimately selected to be the DJ / MC for our special day. He did not disappoint! Our venue presented some unique challenges for our vendors due to the location of the ceremony, but DJ Maurice didn’t skip a beat (pun somewhat intended.) DJ Maurice arrived well ahead of schedule to make sure everything was where it needed to be, which again, relieved a lot of stress. At the reception, DJ Maurice engaged our guests effectively, played an awesome variety of music and provided the exact atmosphere that we were looking for. Several of our guests, including some that usually aren’t known to dance at weddings, commented on how DJ Maurice was absolutely killing it! By the end of the event, it felt like DJ Maurice and I had been long time friends. DJ Maurice was an absolute pleasure to work with, and I would 100% recommend him for your wedding, party, or event. Collins entertainment and DJ Jared saved our wedding day. We had a huge crisis as our DJ bailed on us the week of our wedding. We scrambled, found Collins and got in touch with Jim, the owner, and he got a hold of Jared to perform on 3 days notice for our wedding. Every single guest raved about Jared’s performance. Jim and Jared were so professional and helpful and made our day the best day possible. We can’t thank them enough and we highly highly recommend them. Jared kept our party going and knew and understood exactly what we were looking for from a DJ. They truly saved us.

Jim was our DJ for our wedding and knocked it out of the park! A DJs job is to provide the feel for the reception and he listened to what we wanted the vibe to be and he absolutely delivered. We are SO happy we partnered with Collins Entertainment for our big day!! DJ Elio was easy to work with, had such a positive and energetic attitude, and really took the time to get to know us, the details of the day, and what we wanted from a dance floor. Their online planning tool was so helpful to keep everything organized, and they periodically send emails with planning to-do's to keep you on track as well which was very helpful, and I felt above and beyond! Our dance floor never had a dull moment, and it's one of the top comments we've been getting after the big day. Specifically, that the playlist was "so you!" which we absolutely loved. We were drawn to a DJ over a band because you can play such a wide variety of music, and DJ Elio did just that for us - blending songs from my husband and my childhoods, college experience, wedding classics, and current top hits. DJ Elio also kept us on track all evening (despite speeches going long as they always do!), and flawlessly transitioned from ceremony, to cocktail hour, to reception (entrances, speeches, dance floor). He nailed it, and we are so grateful. We could not recommend more!!

DJ Elio gave us good vibes from our very first encounter. He’s professional, knowledgeable, eager to please, and most importantly- he has great taste in music. We got married outdoors, at my parents residence. We had our ceremony across the street in an open field with no power. The sound was perfect. Music was loud and the ceremony was mic-ed appropriately. Our original plan was to have cocktail hour, un-tented, in the front yard, and a tented reception in the back yard. On our day, it began to drizzle during cocktail hour. DJ Elio didn’t skip a beat. Half of our guests remained in the front yard and the second half stood under our “welcome” tent in the backyard. He essentially DJ’d two separate cocktail hours. That level of accommodation and professionalism goes unmatched. We met with DJ Elio months prior and then one week before our wedding day. Both meetings were productive. He has a way of making you feel comfortable and confident in his skills. Our taste in music is unique and due to that we put all of our trust in him to keep the dance floor full. He exceeded expectations. We gave him “must plays” that he creatively incorporated throughout the night. The dance floor was full the entire night. His set up was aesthetically pleasing and his lighting was awesome. The exceptional factor about DJ Elio is that he doesn’t make a playlist. He took our taste in music and mixed that with his amazing ability to read the room. What solidified how great DJ Elio is for me, was a conversation I had during the reception with a long term friend of mine. She said “this playlist has your name written all over it!” The truth is… we gave DJ Elio very little direction. But through our meetings, he took the time to really get to know us and our music taste and found a way to make our personalities shine through while pleasing our guests at the same time. And that is PRICELESS!

If you are considering booking DJ Jim for your wedding, do not wait!!! Jim was exceptional at every step of the process. He sent out monthly "check lists" in the months leading up to the wedding, which was helpful in making sure we were not forgetting anything. He also had a robust planning process with our other vendors in order to ensure everyone was on the same page the day of the wedding. Our photographer said they have never seen as detailed of a form before, and it was great because it meant no stone was left unturned. At the wedding, Jim had impeccable stage presence. Everything was timed just as we had described it to him. He kept the dance floor full the entire night. Our guests had raving reviews, saying it was some of the best wedding music they've ever experienced. We also opted in for the up-lighting package, which really helped to create the perfect ambiance towards the end of the evening. Jim was extremely accommodating throughout the entire process. We got married at the Wadsworth Mansion in Middletown, CT. It was the perfect venue for our October wedding. What made the whole wedding planning process so easy and truly seamless was Collins Entertainment. From our very first meeting, Jim made us feel comfortable and at ease. Anytime we had a question, even the smallest thing, Jim encouraged us to hop on a Zoom call with him. This made the years, months, and days leading up to our wedding feel important and stress free. On the day of the wedding, Jim and Ryan were outstanding. Both are extremely professional, talented, and personable. From the ceremony to the reception, they became part of the party. They felt the vibe of the celebration and played music for all. What really stood out to us was the planning done with other vendors. Jim communicated with our officiant, venue, caterer, photographers, and videographers before our wedding. I believe that is what made our special day run smoothly. When we first looked into hiring a DJ, we thought it was as simple as picking someone to play music and get the dance floor going. But we were impressed with how much more there was to it, and Collins Entertainment had it all covered from start to finish! There were so many details that we had not considered, like doing a "farewell dance" towards the end of the night. They also offered perspectives that we had not considered, like the benefits of doing wedding party introductions since we had not done programs. Because there is a team of DJs and they take incredible notes, it also means that there is a seamless transition in case of any emergencies. Our original DJ had a family medical emergency, but his colleague was able to step in without missing a beat (pun intended). We highly recommend!

I got married on September 18, 2021. My fiance and I did research for DJ's in the Enfield, CT area. I came across Collins Entertainment. Jim was so helpful and communicated extremely fast. Jim answered all of my questions and set us up with DJ Elio. DJ Elio was such a pleasure to work with. My fiance and I met via zoom with Elio and went over what we wanted our wedding to look and sound like. DJ Elio was extremely helpful and offered professional advice on certain music. On the day of the wedding, DJ Elio helped make our wedding day as perfect as could be. He made sure to play all of our "must-play songs" and to pump up the entire crowd. So many people got up and danced at our wedding. DJ Elio was very personable and it was evident he truly cared about us having a great day. Our original wedding plans changed from a venue to backyard, we originally scheduled our wedding with Jim but then was switched to Elio a few weeks before our wedding. Elio was quick to set up a call with us to get up to date, help us with our timeline and music. There was dancing all night we even had him stay 2 hours longer! (the beauty of backyard wedding too!) We would highly recommend Collins Entertainment!

Jim has been FANTASTIC to work with!  From the very beginning he was attentive, accommodating and truly listening to what our vision for our wedding was!  During such a crazy time to plan our wedding, Jim was a source of calm!  He was extremely knowledgeable about music and offered great suggestions!  Jim also was helpful in guiding the overall process providing details on what we should be aware of as we got closer to our big day!  Jim was our master of ceremonies/DJ and our wedding and reception venue was the New Haven Country Club.  My husband and I can't say enough about how great Jim was and we would 100% recommend him!

We booked Jim to DJ our wedding. Throughout the process, he was warm, responsive, flexible, and helpful. When we first booked him, we had a phone consultation to talk through his different options and pricing, to find the package that would work best for us and our venue. We had several email exchanges to ask follow-up questions, and he always responded quickly and helpfully. We were scheduled at the Pond House in West Hartford, and ended up settling on Jim DJing and emceeing our ceremony and reception. We were impressed with the variety of packages offered, including lighting options and photo booths. However, for our small brunch ceremony, we only wanted DJ/emcee, and Jim was able to accommodate us.  Due to Covid, we had to change our wedding date. Jim was flexible on dates, sympathetic to our situation, and agreed to hold the new date for us instead. We hope that everything goes according to plan, so we are able to work with Jim in the future. It's been great so far.

Due to the pandemic, our wedding venue (Bee & Thistle Inn) closed, thereby canceling our wedding. Collins Entertainment was HIGHLY recommended by our event coordinator, and given the communication and booking process alone, I can see why. Fantastic people. While we won’t get to enjoy Collins Entertainment on our special day, we will continue to recommend them to anyone and everyone in the New England area!
