Collins Entertainment was great to work with throughout the whole process! Jim is great at running the company including helping plan for the event and give ideas and responding quickly to any questions, as well as providing monthly wedding checklists etc. DJ Jared was our DJ for the event and he did great job! He incorporated a mix of music we wanted and read the room well to keep the dance floor full! He was great with the transitions between songs and also did great at MC'ing. Would definitely recommend!

We are so happy we booked Collins Entertainment. From day 1 they had great support and communication. They helped with planning of the time line for the day and kept everything running smoothly the day of. We had DJ Maurice for our wedding day. He was outstanding! Everyone felt like he was a part of our family and felt like we have known him for years. He was entertaining and kept everyone dancing! DJ Maurice listened to our music requests and did a fantastic job mixing all the different genres we like. You can tell he loves his job and is very easy to work with. We used Collins Entertainment for our wedding this past Saturday July 15th, 2023. Maurice was our DJ and he was beyond phenomenal!!! He made sure everything was moving along accordingly; he improvised when he had to cover up any mishaps due to things out of our control, and nobody even noticed. Collins Entertainment was fantastic to work with for our wedding! They were very organized, detail-oriented, and committed to making sure everything ran smoothly. DJ Houston kept everyone on the dancefloor all night with perfect music selections and went above and beyond to capture audio of speeches from the microphones so we could relive those moments.

Jim is so easy and fun to work with and was so helpful in planning our reception timeline, music, etc. We worked with Collins Entertainment for our DJ, ambient lighting and a saxophone player for cocktail hour and all three of those services were perfect. DJ Maurice Review Megan and I booked Collins Entertainment to DJ our wedding in October of 2022. Collins Entertainment provided a unique client portal that allowed us to plan our day, and select certain “must play” songs, as well as “do not play” songs. In the weeks leading up to the wedding, we met with the owner, Jim Collins, several times on Zoom calls, and he was extremely helpful to us! Jim gave us several ideas that we incorporated into our day, and helped us to come up with an itinerary. This relieved a lot of stress in the weeks leading up, and allowed us to focus our time and energy elsewhere! Jim has over a decade of experience, and is truly a seasoned professional! DJ Maurice was ultimately selected to be the DJ / MC for our special day. He did not disappoint! Our venue presented some unique challenges for our vendors due to the location of the ceremony, but DJ Maurice didn’t skip a beat (pun somewhat intended.) DJ Maurice arrived well ahead of schedule to make sure everything was where it needed to be, which again, relieved a lot of stress. At the reception, DJ Maurice engaged our guests effectively, played an awesome variety of music and provided the exact atmosphere that we were looking for. Several of our guests, including some that usually aren’t known to dance at weddings, commented on how DJ Maurice was absolutely killing it! By the end of the event, it felt like DJ Maurice and I had been long time friends. DJ Maurice was an absolute pleasure to work with, and I would 100% recommend him for your wedding, party, or event. Collins entertainment and DJ Jared saved our wedding day. We had a huge crisis as our DJ bailed on us the week of our wedding. We scrambled, found Collins and got in touch with Jim, the owner, and he got a hold of Jared to perform on 3 days notice for our wedding. Every single guest raved about Jared’s performance. Jim and Jared were so professional and helpful and made our day the best day possible. We can’t thank them enough and we highly highly recommend them. Jared kept our party going and knew and understood exactly what we were looking for from a DJ. They truly saved us.

Jim was our DJ for our wedding and knocked it out of the park! A DJs job is to provide the feel for the reception and he listened to what we wanted the vibe to be and he absolutely delivered. We are SO happy we partnered with Collins Entertainment for our big day!! DJ Elio was easy to work with, had such a positive and energetic attitude, and really took the time to get to know us, the details of the day, and what we wanted from a dance floor. Their online planning tool was so helpful to keep everything organized, and they periodically send emails with planning to-do's to keep you on track as well which was very helpful, and I felt above and beyond! Our dance floor never had a dull moment, and it's one of the top comments we've been getting after the big day. Specifically, that the playlist was "so you!" which we absolutely loved. We were drawn to a DJ over a band because you can play such a wide variety of music, and DJ Elio did just that for us - blending songs from my husband and my childhoods, college experience, wedding classics, and current top hits. DJ Elio also kept us on track all evening (despite speeches going long as they always do!), and flawlessly transitioned from ceremony, to cocktail hour, to reception (entrances, speeches, dance floor). He nailed it, and we are so grateful. We could not recommend more!!

DJ Elio gave us good vibes from our very first encounter. He’s professional, knowledgeable, eager to please, and most importantly- he has great taste in music. We got married outdoors, at my parents residence. We had our ceremony across the street in an open field with no power. The sound was perfect. Music was loud and the ceremony was mic-ed appropriately. Our original plan was to have cocktail hour, un-tented, in the front yard, and a tented reception in the back yard. On our day, it began to drizzle during cocktail hour. DJ Elio didn’t skip a beat. Half of our guests remained in the front yard and the second half stood under our “welcome” tent in the backyard. He essentially DJ’d two separate cocktail hours. That level of accommodation and professionalism goes unmatched. We met with DJ Elio months prior and then one week before our wedding day. Both meetings were productive. He has a way of making you feel comfortable and confident in his skills. Our taste in music is unique and due to that we put all of our trust in him to keep the dance floor full. He exceeded expectations. We gave him “must plays” that he creatively incorporated throughout the night. The dance floor was full the entire night. His set up was aesthetically pleasing and his lighting was awesome. The exceptional factor about DJ Elio is that he doesn’t make a playlist. He took our taste in music and mixed that with his amazing ability to read the room. What solidified how great DJ Elio is for me, was a conversation I had during the reception with a long term friend of mine. She said “this playlist has your name written all over it!” The truth is… we gave DJ Elio very little direction. But through our meetings, he took the time to really get to know us and our music taste and found a way to make our personalities shine through while pleasing our guests at the same time. And that is PRICELESS!

If you are considering booking DJ Jim for your wedding, do not wait!!! Jim was exceptional at every step of the process. He sent out monthly "check lists" in the months leading up to the wedding, which was helpful in making sure we were not forgetting anything. He also had a robust planning process with our other vendors in order to ensure everyone was on the same page the day of the wedding. Our photographer said they have never seen as detailed of a form before, and it was great because it meant no stone was left unturned. At the wedding, Jim had impeccable stage presence. Everything was timed just as we had described it to him. He kept the dance floor full the entire night. Our guests had raving reviews, saying it was some of the best wedding music they've ever experienced. We also opted in for the up-lighting package, which really helped to create the perfect ambiance towards the end of the evening. Jim was extremely accommodating throughout the entire process. We got married at the Wadsworth Mansion in Middletown, CT. It was the perfect venue for our October wedding. What made the whole wedding planning process so easy and truly seamless was Collins Entertainment. From our very first meeting, Jim made us feel comfortable and at ease. Anytime we had a question, even the smallest thing, Jim encouraged us to hop on a Zoom call with him. This made the years, months, and days leading up to our wedding feel important and stress free. On the day of the wedding, Jim and Ryan were outstanding. Both are extremely professional, talented, and personable. From the ceremony to the reception, they became part of the party. They felt the vibe of the celebration and played music for all. What really stood out to us was the planning done with other vendors. Jim communicated with our officiant, venue, caterer, photographers, and videographers before our wedding. I believe that is what made our special day run smoothly. When we first looked into hiring a DJ, we thought it was as simple as picking someone to play music and get the dance floor going. But we were impressed with how much more there was to it, and Collins Entertainment had it all covered from start to finish! There were so many details that we had not considered, like doing a "farewell dance" towards the end of the night. They also offered perspectives that we had not considered, like the benefits of doing wedding party introductions since we had not done programs. Because there is a team of DJs and they take incredible notes, it also means that there is a seamless transition in case of any emergencies. Our original DJ had a family medical emergency, but his colleague was able to step in without missing a beat (pun intended). We highly recommend!

I got married on September 18, 2021. My fiance and I did research for DJ's in the Enfield, CT area. I came across Collins Entertainment. Jim was so helpful and communicated extremely fast. Jim answered all of my questions and set us up with DJ Elio. DJ Elio was such a pleasure to work with. My fiance and I met via zoom with Elio and went over what we wanted our wedding to look and sound like. DJ Elio was extremely helpful and offered professional advice on certain music. On the day of the wedding, DJ Elio helped make our wedding day as perfect as could be. He made sure to play all of our "must-play songs" and to pump up the entire crowd. So many people got up and danced at our wedding. DJ Elio was very personable and it was evident he truly cared about us having a great day. Our original wedding plans changed from a venue to backyard, we originally scheduled our wedding with Jim but then was switched to Elio a few weeks before our wedding. Elio was quick to set up a call with us to get up to date, help us with our timeline and music. There was dancing all night we even had him stay 2 hours longer! (the beauty of backyard wedding too!) We booked Jim to DJ our wedding. Throughout the process, he was warm, responsive, flexible, and helpful. When we first booked him, we had a phone consultation to talk through his different options and pricing, to find the package that would work best for us and our venue. We had several email exchanges to ask follow-up questions, and he always responded quickly and helpfully. We were scheduled at the Pond House in West Hartford, and ended up settling on Jim DJing and emceeing our ceremony and reception. We were impressed with the variety of packages offered, including lighting options and photo booths. However, for our small brunch ceremony, we only wanted DJ/emcee, and Jim was able to accommodate us.  Due to Covid, we had to change our wedding date. Jim was flexible on dates, sympathetic to our situation, and agreed to hold the new date for us instead. We hope that everything goes according to plan, so we are able to work with Jim in the future. It's been great so far.

Guests had a great time and despite the smaller size party than we originally expected due to the pandemic, we had an amazing wedding! Due to the pandemic, our wedding venue (Bee & Thistle Inn) closed, thereby canceling our wedding. Collins Entertainment was HIGHLY recommended by our event coordinator, and given the communication and booking process alone, I can see why. Fantastic people. While we won’t get to enjoy Collins Entertainment on our special day, we will continue to recommend them to anyone and everyone in the New England area!

My husband and I hired Kevin Barnett through Collin's Entertainment to DJ our wedding. From the minute we met with Kevin, we knew we made the right decision. He was very attentive to what we wanted played and what we didn't want played. He gave me a list of song suggestions when I had no idea what I wanted for our entrance songs into the reception. We remained in contact in the weeks leading up to my wedding about finalizing things so I wouldn't have to worry about anything the day of. Kevin took the time to go over every little detail of our reception and what would be played during cocktail hour, dinner, and songs we wanted played for dancing. Kevin went above and beyond our expectations. He cultivated such a fun and exciting night, while keeping it very professional as he MCed through the events of our reception. He even helped us organize a group picture of everyone at our reception by calling them onto the dance floor. We got an awesome picture and it was a great way to get everyone dancing. Kevin even came up to me at the reception to ask if there were any other songs that i wanted to hear. Whatever I told him I wanted to hear he would play it next. Loved hearing all my favorite songs surrounded by all the people I love. My guests have told me that our wedding was one of the best weddings they've attended, and I believe Kevin's professional DJ skills created such a fun atmosphere. Would definitely recommend him for all my friends and family members who are currently engaged. We loved having Kevin be apart of our special day.

We hired Jim/ Collins Entertainment for our October 13th wedding and couldn't be happier that we had! Jim was such a blast to work with. From the initial meeting (which was a video chat online) he was amazing and very accommodating. With our crazy work hours it was so easy and nice to meet online. The monthly reminder emails he sent us about what needed to be done before the wedding was so helpful and fun to receive!! The online forms and song choice program that we were able to use was amazing as well!! If songs we wanted weren't there, it was so easy to add them too. Music is such a huge part of weddings and guests having a good time and Jim really brought that fun to our wedding. The games and the centerpiece giveaway were awesome and he really killed it! We couldn't recommend Jim enough!! Hire him for your wedding or any DJ needs that you have!

We hired Jim for our DJ and MC-ing for our wedding a few weeks ago and they did not disappoint! We loved the portal to choose our favorite songs and then he filled out an amazing playlist. The only comment I got from guests was that the dance floor was too small because everyone, young and old, was out there all night! He blended the oldies hits with our unusual requests and new age pop! We also booked our photo booth through Jim and they were amazing as well! At the end of the night, they were packing up and my groom and I realized we had never hit the photo booth. They literally unpacked the backdrop, put it back up and rebooted the system so we could snap a few pics! Every interaction was so professional and easy, I never worried about anything. He worked great with our vendors and it was so fun to see the story he posted on Instagram the next morning. At the end of the night, he played “Good golly miss Molly” to see people out (our hashtag was GoodGollyChrisandMolly) which was such a nice touch! But then no one left! We had to stop the music complete and turn the lights on! Our guests would have danced all night if the music had continued! Thanks Jim and everyone!

We hired Collins Entertainment to DJ/MC our wedding on September 27, 2019 after a long online search. We knew we had chosen the right company after reading numerous, positive reviews. What really sold us was our initial video chat meeting with owner Jim. It was so convenient to chat through video rather than in person. Jim really took the time to get to know us and find out what we were looking for for our wedding. We were very impressed with how organized everything was. We filled out a form that outlined our music tastes and preferences. There was also an online portal we were given access to that helped us list songs that were “must plays” or “do not plays”. There were several meetings with Jim prior to the main event which were extremely helpful and fun. Closer to the wedding date, we had the chance to video chat with our DJ/MC Mike who quickly got a sense for our music vision and made us feel even more confident in our decision. On the actual wedding day, Mike did an incredible job. The ceremony music was seamless and just what we had outlined. The reception couldn’t have run more smoothly thanks to Jim’s organization. Everything was timed just right and we did not have to worry about a thing. Mike checked in with us frequently to be sure things were going as planned. Everyone was on the dance floor all night. The music mix was perfect for all ages. We couldn’t have been happier with Collins Entertainment and would recommend them to anyone!

My husband and I got married at Great River Golf Club on September 14, 2019. We had Jim be our emcee, had another booth attendant during the reception, and purchased the mirror photo booth for 3 hours during the reception. Jim played the biggest part in making our wedding so perfect. His help throughout the planning process and assistance on the wedding day went beyond our expectations. He played so many different roles and made everything seem so seamless. He and his team are professional and were able to read the crowd so well during the reception. I've never seen so many people dance on the dance floor at any wedding before. Our wedding was unforgettable, a blast, hilarious, sweet and elegant all at the same time and our friends continue to rave about how wonderful our DJ was!

We had a bit of a rough start with the company as we got close to our wedding. Jim Collins stepped up and made our event wonderful. We had his mid-level package with uplighting and the room was gorgeous. We received multiple comments on how good our emcee was and how high the energy was on the dance floor. Jim was absolutely fantastic. My wife found him and insisted we consider him as our DJ, and I was skeptical of the slightly-higher price. We absolutely got what we paid for. In addition to the beautifully-executed standard DJ responsibilities outlined below, Jim was extremely helpful in planning the event, working with us to find the perfect music, and helping to manage the day both in planning and on the ground. I thought all communication and planning with the DJ was excessive, but I was wrong and it really paid off on the big day. Sound and music for the ceremony were perfect. Not only could everyone hear, but Jim had gone over the sound setup and double checked with our officiant. The ceremony was like a perfect dress rehearsal. For the reception, things were even better. The dancing didn't stop once it started, the music was loud enough to be fun without being overbearing, and Jim's performance as emcee was great. Jim and his assistant (who's name I've rudely forgotten) were extremely polite and friendly with us, the venue, the photographer, our wedding party, and our guests. if the Collins crew weren't having fun themselves, they fooled me. I had no complaints, and I can't recommend Collins Entertainment enough.

DJ Jim and crew were the best possible choice for us! The attention to detail, the portal where we could make selections and choices, and the personality of the crew we worked with really sealed the deal for us. DJ Jim took into account what we really wanted out of all the music choices that we had and was perfect for what we were going for: a night of fun and dancing with our friends. Jim and his crew were on top of everything from the word go, and made sure that every step of the way we were informed and included. We booked a photo booth with him too, and the crew who ran it was so amazing! They put a copy of all the photos taken in the booth in a book, let our guests write a little note, AND gave us a flash drive of all the pictures that were taken so we have digital and physical copies. Something we will cherish forever. The reminder emails were perfect for us, kept us focused and on task. All the little details that we missed, Jim caught and made it an easy process to select everything. I could not suggest him more to anyone getting married.

Jim was so wonderful to work with, very responsive throughout the entire process. Provided great suggestions and practical options when we were unsure of what we wanted. We really enjoyed the day of with DJ Mike, he provided coverage during the ceremony as well as throughout the entire night. Mike was able to really read the crowd and tailor song selections. The Mirror booth was well worth it and we all enjoyed this addition to our big day! Would highly recommend working this this team, as they took care of us.

Collins Entertainment did a wonderful job at our wedding in July. Jim was very easy to work with- he is super friendly and very organized to make sure that all the details are correct. We appreciated having a few meetings with Jim prior to our wedding to makes sure that we were on the same page and that things were coming together. We hired Kevin from Collins Entertainment, and we couldn't be more pleased! He was so attentive and helpful on the day of, it blew us away! My husband and I had a specific vision in mind when it came to our reception - we wanted everyone dancing the entire night and enjoying themselves, with no interruptions. We had several different genres in mind during the planning meetings (salsa, dance, soul, funk) and Kevin did a great job at making that happen! Between Jim planning and Kevin Djing/MCing the wedding we had a very specific vision beforehand that they were able to execute flawlessly. Out of all my vendors (20+ people/companies) Jim Collins was by far my favorite to work with. He was professional, punctual, detail oriented, friendly, and had great communication. From the time I signed the agreement Jim sent monthly emails checking in giving tips and details to keep in mind. He has an organizer online that helps you pick out music. He planned skype meetings two separate times with us as it got closer to go over the minute by minute night. He made sure everyones names were correctly pronounced and assured that he knew everything he needed. We also used Collins Entertainment for our ceremony audio and photo booth services. I think what I hate most is going to a wedding and you can't hear anything, I stressed to Jim how important it was that everyone could hear us clearly. Every person front to back of our ceremony that I've spoken to said could hear us perfectly. We were wirelessly mic'd with high tech equipment and it went so smooth. For the photo booth, he had tons of accessories and props, people had a blast! We picked the mirror booth, it was a little more money but totally worth it. Very unique experience. Overall Jim is such a great guy, he couldn't have been more of a professional. Anyone I know who is need of DJ services I would recommend him to!

Collins Entertainment came to me as both a personal recommendation as well as amazing online reviews. Collins Entertainment is the most amazing DJ/MC that I have ever worked with. Jim and Mike are incredibly professional and organized and met every need and expectation I had for my wedding. We used the DJ/MC option for our ceremony and reception at Lake Pearl in Wrentham, MA and Mike was our MC. He was so great, he had every note, requests, and songs I had requested ready to go and checked in with my husband and myself multiple times a night to make sure that everything was going how we expected. He was professional about every little request and question and we couldn't be happier. I was also so impressed by the whole planning process that Jim has in place, he clearly knows what he is doing and is really very good at it. The planning process was streamlined – reminders to keep you on track of your timeline, easy to use website and planning tools, meetings to brainstorm about songs and so he gets a feel for what you want out of the night. We didn’t have a lot of dancers in the crowd, but somehow Jim kept the dance floor going all night!! The mirror booth was a hit, some of our favorite photos were captured there! They did our wedding a little over a week ago and we absolutely loved them. We got comment after comment from our guests telling us how much they loved the music and entertainment we had. Jim Collins and his assistant Kevin did a great job and we can’t thank them enough for helping us create our vision! About a year in a half before our wedding date we were in search for a DJ for our wedding and then I came across “Collins Entertainment” and I just knew we had to book them! We still had a whole year and a half before the big day but I’m really good at reading people and my instincts sure were right! I am so happy that we booked them so early because not only did it secure our date, but also put us at ease. Just talking with Jim gave me confidence that our night would be awesome! He’s not only a DJ but a master of ceremonies as well. He helped with the timeline of the wedding and gives you an internet data base to organize your vision, save songs you want played etc. It’s a great and easy to use computer system that really helped us out with all the planning! After talking first with him on the phone we set up a time to Skype so he could get to know us a little more and talk about a plan. We then set up a time to meet at a Panara to chat in person. I loved meeting with him because while planning a wedding you have so many thoughts and ideas running through your mind, it’s good to get them all out in the open to the guy who is creating your wedding! We Skyped one more time before the day to finalize everything and go through the timeline and order of events. Jim kept in contact our entire engagement and answered any questions or concerns we had. Even though we were a year and a half out, he kept in contact and was so excited to help! His professionalism and personality was definitely something to remember. We had so many ideas for songs and he made all those ideas that I thought were impossible, happen! Literally can’t thank them enough for the time they put into our vision. Throughout the whole wedding he is announcing things and keeping the guests up and enjoying the night with your music selections that you picked along with his expertise. He’s very good at reading the crowd and knowing which songs to play at what time. He even came up to our sweetheart table during the night to check on us to see if he could do anything for us which was so nice! All of our other vendors loved them too and said he was great to work with. He definitely knows his stuff since he’s done so many different weddings, I trusted him when he gave me advice on things I was questioning. He did an anniversary dance and called up couples who were married 1 year, 5 year, 10 years etc and kept calling them up and to put an even better twist on it, he used my parents wedding song and my now husband’s parents wedding song for this special idea. My mom and mother in-law definitely had a good happy cry and loved that we did that! After telling him as a kid that I used to make up silly raps just joking around for fun he game me the bride, the confidence to rap at our wedding lol! - He is just full of ideas and it really shows in his work that he truly loves what he does!! Collins Entertainment is the absolute BEST, and that’s a fact.

We can't say enough great things about Jim & Collins Entertainment! The prep meetings in the months prior helped us focus on details we might have overlooked. Jim provided some great, unique twists to normal wedding traditions that made our day feel special. Also as MC - Jim helped keep the reception moving. Most importantly - the music for dancing was SPOT ON. Our dance floor was packed the entire night with people of all ages!! Had tons of guests say it was one of the best DJs they had heard.
