On the morning of my wedding, Rachel created an assembly line to get all 14 of us- yes 14- ready in a timely fashion. By using the assembly line, each girl had makeup freshly applied before we headed to the church. I knew there was no other option for me on my big day. Over the summer, Rachel surprised me with news that she was going to have a baby! (YAY!) and she was due two weeks before my wedding. She calmed my nerves.....(yes, the beautiful mom to be was consoling ME when she’s the one growing a human in her lol) and ensured me that she would be there if he arrived on his due date but in case he was late, she arranged another make up artist to be there that day. I really appreciated and respected the fact that she was that up front and honest with me and gave me a heads up WAY in advance. Fast forward to our wedding day.... Rachel ended up having her beautiful baby boy a little ahead of schedule and still managed to be there for my wedding just TWO WEEKS after giving birth (yes that’s right she is a super human). Due to the fact that we got married in January and the sun set early, I needed Rachel and Ashley to start make up at 5:30am.... they both arrived ready to go no problem. They were so flexible with my ever changing requests and not to mention super patient with me and the entire bridal party that thought it was a good idea to go out the night before having to be up at 5am.... Ashley literally had to pause while the maid of honor excused herself to go throw up and then got back to business like it was nothing. Rachel managed to make me look bright and awake and naturally radiating even though I was dehydrated and had literally two hours of sleep. They balance being professionals while making a connection with each and everyone of us and do it so organically and flawlessly. Whenever I sit in their chair, there is no awkward small talk.... I am genuinely excited to be in their presence. It speaks volumes the amount of times I have chose Rachel and Ashley for outside events and the fact that it was a no brainer that I needed them for my wedding. After a bad trial with another makeup artist I was even thinking of doing my own makeup until I stumbled upon Rachel's Instagram and liked what I saw. Rachel was extremely easy to get in touch with and to set up a trial with, she also introduced me to a hair stylist (Olya of Glamour AGoGo) who was also amazing. I felt immediately at ease once I met Rachel, she really listened to what I wanted and explained each step of the makeup process, including all the different options that I could choose from (ie: foundation versus tinted moisturizer). I felt that I could really speak up about what I liked and wanted and she totally was onboard. She gave me some amazing skincare tips too. I felt comfortable with her and admired her professionalism; hiring her was a no brainer. On the day of my wedding Rachel went above and beyond. She took her time on every single person and just did an amazing job. My friend who works in Hollywood and goes to events and gets her makeup done frequently, said her hair and makeup were the best she's ever had. When I sat down for Rachel to do my makeup she already intuitively knew all the decisions I wanted (For instance I chose a tinted moisturizer over foundation). She totally got me and my vibe, it was awesome. I also made a small makeup change from the trial- I wanted a bit of a Meghan Markle smokey eye and Rachel delivered. Getting ready was a really fun, stress free experience and I'm glad that Rachel and Olya are part of those memories. I felt absolutely beautiful on my wedding day. I only wish I had more events to go to where I needed my makeup done!

When I left that shoot, I felt so beautiful and had this pit in my stomach that I would regret it forever if she did not do my hair and make up for my big day, never thinking she would be available I reached out to her to ask if she would glam me up for my wedding, without hesitation she accepted and traveled free of charge to Lake George New York. In the weeks coming she stayed in communication with me ironing out the details of what I did and did not want etc. I live in DC so there was no time for a trial but it did not matter, I knew she would make me look nothing less then flawless. The day came and she arrived early with Stephanie and as always her vibrant and calming personality put an instant smile on my face, although a calm bride, the energy of everyone around me was to put it lightly... a lot! Despite the craziness of my family she made me feel beautiful and calmed me which is super important as a bride, she entertained everyones questions and input and ensured everyone that she would make everyone not only beautiful but their vision of beautiful, I never doubted it for a second but by the end of the morning everyone instantly saw why I made the last minute change... she is not only a master at her craft but one of the best souls I have had the pleasure of meeting through this wedding journey. To top it all off, she stayed through my first look to fix any make up issues and Stephanie did three hair changes for me to give me just a slight change through the morning first look and ceremony.... Rachel went above-and-beyond the call of duty by researching multiple brands of makeup (she even called some companies directly) to ensure that specific products within a brand was free of the allergen. Rachel was unsure whether a couple of the products would trigger an allergic reaction, so she arranged for us to meet for a test run at Sephora before committing to them. I was planning my wedding from Boston and did not have many weekends home in New York. Rachel was so easy to work with and worked around my schedule. She and the hairstylist she often works with, Ashley Smith, came to my mother’s house for my hair and makeup trial. Before the trial, I shared a couple of pictures that I liked with Rachel and she completely nailed the look I was going for. She and Ashley were so sweet and easy to talk to. I felt like I was getting ready with two old friends, everyone was easy going and laughing the entire morning. There is a picture of me from the morning of my wedding after seeing my makeup for the first time. I have a huge grin and told Rachel that it was my “you exceeded my wildest expectations” face. I can honestly say that I have never felt more beautiful than on my wedding day.
