My husband and I wanted to learn some ballroom dance basics to use in our first dance for our wedding, and we found this amazing studio. The price of their beginners package is unbeatable! We worked with Shawna and truly cannot say enough good things about her! We loved her so much that both my parents and my husband's parents ended up taking lessons with her, too! It was really fun to take lessons with my dad so we could practice our father-daughter dance. Pretty much everyone in my family was initially a little nervous about the idea of dancing in front of other people, and Shawna very quickly put those worries to rest by showing us how fun and easy dancing can be. What I really love about her teaching style is that she breaks the concepts down into bite-sized pieces that are really easy to understand, apply, and practice. She also shares the "why" behind why it's easier or more natural to do a move in a certain way, which makes it more fluid and easy to remember. Her pacing never felt rushed and was so perfect for us as beginners! I had found a few "advanced moves" that I thought would be beautiful to incorporate into our first dance, but had no idea how to do them (and was doubtful our skill level would allow it!) but Shawna easily broke those moves down, too, and showed us exactly how to do them. Before we knew it, we had a fully choreographed first dance, full of moves we both felt comfortable doing - and we actually looked elegant doing them! I am so thankful to Shawna for the fun experience, and the gift of feeling so confident during our first dance, father-daughter dance, and mother-son dance on our wedding night. We will definitely be coming back for more lessons as a fun date night!
Carlos was our coach and he was fabulous! We did our first dance with confidence and it was beautiful!
My husband and I highly recommend Colorado Dancesport. We worked with Shannon for several weeks leading up to our wedding. Neither of us had any experience dancing, but she broke it down into achievable pieces, helped us understand the process, and always made it fun! Although we originally thought we would use the Cold Feet Special, we enjoyed learning from Shannon so much that we upgraded to The Survivor Package - it was so worth it if you are able to upgrade!
Shannon was so professional. She made sure that appointments could be adjusted as wedding chaos created unexpected changes to our plans, and she helped us meet specific goals for each lesson.
At our wedding reception, our dance received gasps of surprise, lots of clapping, and most importantly - was probably our own personal highlight of the reception. It was romantic, fun, completely our own, and we pulled it off with hardly a hitch.
The cold feet special was PERFECT! Three 25 minute private lessons for $25 you seriously can’t beat that! Our instructor was Tim who unfortunately just moved away but we liked Colorado Dancesport so much that even though our instructor left we signed up for additional lessons for date nights! So much fun!
My husband and I just wanted to learn to social dance and we tried various studios in south Denver and in Parker. This is our studio! Leonard is a wonderful teacher for beginners wanting to just learn to dance. The staff are the best teachers anywhere, they do not make you feel watched or on the spot. They do not pressure you to sign up and spend more money. We drive 45 minutes to get there, but it is well worth it. Don't go anywhere else!
We got so much out of our wedding package at Colorado Dancesport. Angie took time to learn about us and remembered every detail! From the first minute of the first class to the last minute of the last class we were dancing. No wasting time with her, great positive outlook on life, happy and really made us feel our first dance would be perfect!
For our first dance, my wife and I decided to take lessons in order to make it a memorable experience for both us and our guests. We took lessons from John at Colorado Dancesport. With neither of us having any dance experience, he was very patient with us and came up with a great routine that wow'd our guest. It was a fun experience learning choreography with my new bride!
We received dance lessons as a Christmas gift from my husband's parents. It was something we weren't positive about adding in but we are so glad we did. We received the "survival" package that included a few 45 minute and 25 minute private lessons. Faith helped us schedule them up until we left for our destination wedding and she even helped us plan our dance in the sand. We plan on returning for more lessons just for fun!
Dance lessons were great and we had so many compliments on our dance! We made it as crazy or as simple as we liked and our instructor was super fun and became a wonderful friend!
I had lots of fun taking dance lessons here, my groom loved it too! They were very friendly and we learned a lot! just a little advice…take the lessons closer to your wedding…my groom and i forgot most of the lessons by the time our wedding came and so we had to resort to the lawnmower, the fist pump etc. it was still lots of fun though!
My husband (then fiance) and I bought a Groupon for 10 group classes and two 25 minute private lessons at Colorado Dancesport. We ended up upgrading to more private lessons which was well worth the money! It was a little bit intimidating at first, but by the end I really looked forward to our lessons and had a ton of fun learning our dance! We took the group nightclub class with Faith and private lessons with Faith and Lindsay. They are both excellent dancers and lots of fun! Lindsay helped us modify the dance to fit the song we wanted to use and saved a shortened version of it for us on a CD which was very helpful. Faith was hilarious and she worked very hard with us and choreographed a really perfect dance. We waited until about 6 weeks before our wedding to start which worked out okay but I wish we had started a little bit earlier so we could have learned a few more dances. We ended up doing the first dance we learned because we felt short on time but we were both extremely pleased with it and our guests were very impressed!
Faith is a very effective teacher. She understands the trouble most beginners have with putting all the elements of dance together and she accomplishes a lot in a limited amount of time. She is always very positive, warm and friendly. She did a great job with us and we have video to prove it.
Faith was an amazing teacher, and she was the one who worked with us for months. All of their teachers are amazing, but we used Faith. Great Company. Planning on still going to dance lessons, because it was so much fun!
Ian Ellis was our instructor. He was fun to work with and always helped my husband feel comfortable. We practiced with Ian during private lessons for our first dance. He prepared us so well that our first dance was truly memeorable!
My husband and I never wanted go to dance lessons but always had a great time once we got to the lessons. We worked with two different instructors and they were both great teachers. I would recommend going to your firts lesson with your song already picked.
We worked with Faith and she was absolutely amazing! We had so much fun (even my husband did) that we signed up to come back for lessons after we got married. We've gotten so many compliments on our dance and we definitely looked like we knew what we were doing!
