Colorado Wedding Painter, Julia Dordoni

Julia was a fabulous live painter at our wedding in June! We asked her to capture a specific scene, and she finished almost the entire painting during our reception. Guests were able to watch her paint, and it was a really cool feature. At the end of the night, Julia took the painting home to finish/perfect the details on our faces, and then shipped it to our home in another state when she was done. It arrived in perfect condition and we look forward to displaying the painting for many years to come.

The most amazing & talented live painter!! Our painting is so precisely accurate it looks like it was taken with a real camera. Everyone at my wedding, including my husband and myself, was completely blown away by Julia’s talent. Our friends still talk about how awesome it was to see her paint. She is a true artist. She is the kindest, most talented, and most professional. Julia actually went above and beyond by kindly taking precious videos of the sweetest moments of our day, that I will cherish forever. Now we have her beautiful masterpiece framed in our living room so we can admire it everyday. Julia is conscientious, incredibly nice, and so talented! We had several specific requests especially since we were incorporating a deceased member of the family into the artwork. Julia paid attention to our every need and also coordinated the final touchups in such a wonderful way. This was a surprise gift for our bride and groom, and she knocked it out of the park. The end result was perfect in every way, and we are so very grateful.

When planning our wedding, My husband and I were torn between hiring a wedding photographer and a wedding painter for quite a while. Julia was a surprise gift from my matron of honor. She was an absolute dream to work with! From wedding day Julia was so considerate in asking us particular questions about our painting, and after wedding day she was so communicative with updates. I can't imagine a higher level of professionalism and joy from a vendor than what Julia expressed to us and our painting is now our most prized possession. She captured our first dance and our venue perfectly. I'd also like to note that I am a person of color while my husband is white, so I was initially nervous about how our skin tones would translate to a painting, but they are perfect!!

Julia was absolutely amazing! She is so, so talented and my husband and I were absolutely blown away by the painting and how quickly she was able to get it done. She was extremely responsive, professional, and so sweet in person too! All of our guests told us how much they loved talking with her and watching her paint. We both agree that this was the best spent money of the entire wedding. If you have it in your budget, hiring someone to paint during your ceremony or first dance is really, really special, and I cannot recommend anyone more than Julia!

I cannot say enough amazing things about Julia! We hired her as a live painter for our wedding in July of 2022 in Colorado. She is professional, friendly, and passionate! First, liaising with her via email and phone was easy. And, on wedding day she was SO friendly to our guests as many would stop by and chat with her while she painted a beautiful scene of us (bride and groom) with a mountain landscape. Now, our painting hangs in our home and is a constant reminder of our favorite day - our wedding day! Julia Dordoni painted our "first kiss" moment during our wedding ceremony at the Pinery at the Hill in Colorado Springs. This was a surprise to me from my husband, and it ended up being one of the best parts of the day! After the ceremony, Julia moved into our reception space to continue painting. Our guests loved getting to see her work as they ate dinner and danced. She was very communicative throughout the process and worked so hard to create a work of art. We now have our painting framed and hanging in our home. It's such a personal and unique reminder of our special day. We would highly recommend Julia!

I HIGHLY recommend hiring Julia if you want to have a live painter or have a photo turned into a painting. She can capture colors and textures so well. I picked her over others because of her talented ability to capture fun details in wedding dresses. So if you have any lace or other texture, I suggest you give Julia real consideration. She is also kind and listens to your opinions but will offer expert advice when asked. I joke with my husband now about his initial response to hiring a live painter. It is now his favorite piece of artwork we have.

Julia was so easy to work with and obviously loves what she is doing! She painted exactly what we wanted and even included my sons dog in the painting!

Can I please give Julia 10 stars?! “Wow!” Does not even begin to describe the incredible, one of a kind service Julia gave me on my wedding day. She was kind and enthusiastic for the moment I reached out to her. She gave me lots of examples and asked all the right questions to ensure her painting was going to be everything I envisioned. When the weather report for my wedding day revealed that I might be getting a snow storm in late May, she immediately called me to discuss potential backup plans. I wasn’t able to have my ceremony at my original location (which was quite the bummer because I picked my venue for the view), but Julia saved the day. She had pulled several picture of the venue view for reference and captured the view i had dreamed of when I originally planned my special day. She was so kind with all my guests, and everyone was in awe of her talent and attention to detail. We didn’t just get a painting of a couple on their wedding day; the details she included made it clear that my husband and I were the couple in the picture. If you are on the fence about Julia, it’s time to take the leap. It will be worth it!

We gifted Julia's Live Painting service as a wedding present for a family member. She was incredibly responsive and very easy to work with, both between us and the bride and groom as they worked with her to figure out how they wanted the day to be portrayed. Julia is an incredible painter, and especially of the outdoors. Our wedding was New Year’s Eve so we were getting married indoors and she was still able to create a beautiful painting of us based on the view outside with us and our pup! Julia was wonderful. It was a very rainy day but she plugged away at painting the background in the hours leading up to the ceremony. The weather cleared just long enough for the wedding yet even later during the downpur she still worked outside capturing everything just right. And the final work product was just absolutely perfect. Our family will treasure her painting forever. Super happy with Julia and her final painting. She did a live painting for my event. My only complaint would be that the painting was done before the reception started, which kind of defeated the purpose; but, to Julia's credit a storm was rolling in and I could see the need to move faster. I would have preferred she keep working on it in the tent so people could see it happening, but I'm thrilled to have the final product and grateful for the work she did. She's very talented.

Colorado State U athletic department puts on an annual Auction Gala fund raiser. It is a excellent dress-up dinner function and includes a live auction. Julia provided a painting of the schools mascot Cam the Ram with a beautiful mountain background. I was a lively bidder and successfully "Won" the painting. Not only do I now possess the painting but also a friend in Julia. She is a special gal along with being a very gifted artist. Cheers to Julia.

Greatful to have met Julia and lucky to have been able to commission her for creating live art memories for guests at a Resort I worked for. Her engaging personality make her subjects feel so comfortable and she captures the scene so perfectly, you almost feel like you are melting into the painting. Next week the non profit I work for now will be auctioning off "a moment captured by Julia" and we are anticipating to raise over $7500 for her services because her reputation is know so well throughout the area and her work speaks for itself. I commissioned Julie to paint a love ceremony portrait as a wedding gift for our dear friends in steamboat september 2016. She did an incredible job and the painting far exceeded my expectations. In fact the final work was on display front and center when we arrived at the day after brunch. Our friends said it was the best gift they received.
