ability to execute our non-traditional requests.
I asked them to transpose two less-popular Bad Bunny songs for our ceremony. Since there weren't many (if any) acoustic references to share with them, I knew it was a gamble and kept my expectations realistic. However, they truly knocked it out of the park! The arrangements were beautiful and felt perfectly at home in a ceremony setting.
As someone who grew up playing the violin, I can be critical of classical string instrumentalists, but I was really impressed by the skill of our musicians. They are incredibly talented and were worth every penny. If you want a group that is both technically skilled and flexible enough to bring a modern, personal touch to your music, Columbia River Strings is the perfect fit!

The reason why I rated them a 3 instead of a 5 is because the business manager that we interacted with to coordinate the details of the booking was quite hard to communicate with and always had short and sometimes rude responses to my questions. Additionally, we booked the “bring the DJ” package with them and we were assigned a DJ we liked, but they were removed from our event at the last minute, and so they gave us another DJ that was only okay.
Rebecca, the booking agent, was an absolute pleasure to work with. I had many many questions and concerns and she communicated timely, clearly, and with kindness each time. I don't...
remember the name of the DJ that ended up working our wedding, but he was so, so sweet. Exactly the type of person we wanted. And he accommodated every little detail we asked for. He also came early so he wouldn't interrupt the ceremony. Just was a very kind person who made me feel at ease. I feel like some DJs can have a creepy energy and this person was the total opposite of that. I had a lot of specific requests about timing and backup plans due to my father's disability, and the flexibility, grace, and understanding this company brought was such a comfort. The moment I walked down the aisle as I heard their amazing music playing, it was just a moment I will never forget.
From the very beginning, Rebecca was ABSOLUTELY amazing to work with.. and trust me, we surely tested her patience with our Covid rescheduling and such. But after a year plus, we did it and Rebecca helped make it feel like a breeze.
The musicians arrived in tuxedos as requested (can you believe that?!)... with smiles on their faces and they were so talented.
If you're wondering if you can have strings and a DJ or Band later, let me tell you... you absolutely can and Rebecca will help you make it feel seamless.

However, on the day of our wedding I was asked by one of the musicians for the songs and the order - so there seems to be a lack of a communication between the booking agent and the musicians. Even after reiterating the order, the songs selected for the ceremony were still played in the incorrect order.
Further, we had paid for an hour. In total the trio played maybe 20 minutes - packing up shortly after playing a song or two after the ceremony wrapped up and left.
The musicians were very kind and played beautifully, which is why I am still giving 4 stars, but I am disappointed in the amount of time that was played and the miscommunication.

nally. But best of all, they played BEAUTIFULLY! I had them play for the welcome 30 minutes before ceremony, the actual ceremony and then the cocktail hour after. They were seriously the best. I would hire them again in a heartbeat. My guests loved them and it was really a nice and intimate touch to the ceremony. I can't wait to get back the video of the wedding so I can hear them play again! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
