It hurts me to write this but I feel as though I have to so brides know what they’re getting into booking here. I’ll start by saying my wedding was the best day of my life but most...ly because I was surrounded by people I love the most. Venue positives: it does have its own aesthetic that gives a great vibe. The sound in the room was great. I didn’t have to yell to talk to people while the Dj Played. The max guest count is 110 but I would recommend max 85 for best comfort and noise. The bartenders were incredible!! So nice and made great cocktails. This is where the good staff quality ends. There have been many other comments already on the change in events manager. The original events manager we worked with, Christen, was the best! She made me feel so confident about my plans and was quick to respond to questions. Past reviews of this venue also mentioned her as being the best part of the experience here. However, I was completely ghosted by the venue for a month. After leaving messages every week and getting nothing back, I finally called the restaurant. I was able to talk to (the extremely rude manager:story on that later) and he told me “yeah Christen left about a month ago..we have a new girl starting next month”. Next month! And my wedding is in 2 months. Ceremony and reception at the venue. Nobody thought to call the people who have events planned here to let them know? So crazy from a business standpoint. The interim girl had no answers for anything although she was very nice. Not on her, this wasn’t her job. The new girl I am sorry to say was absolutely no help at all. Every time I had a question I left the conversation even more confused than before. My stress level the month of the wedding was so high because of this place. I had no idea how the ceremony was going to be set up because it’s a tight space. When I asked multiple times if my set up idea could work I was told “yeah I think so”. Only to find out on the Thursday before my wedding that the set up I had in mind this whole time in fact would not work and everything had to be re-worked. In the end, the ceremony set up was beautiful. However, when brides spend months-years planning a wedding and spending a ton of money, it’s such an uncomfortable feeling to not have your plans met with action and assurance. Communication was difficult. We had a small wedding and due to this difficulty of working with the event manager I ended up spending more money for a day of coordinator. They were also frustrated with working with this venue.
I would understand if this place marketed themselves as “hey we’re just a brewery, come for the good vibes and beer” but they were at the Columbus bridal convention and market themselves on wedding sites and on their Instagram.
Now to the manager of the place: I am in my wedding dress, 10 minutes before my ceremony, trying to hide from guests(no good place for this here btw lol) i was sitting in a back room quietly in an office chair. All the sudden I’m met with the most hostile person asking “who gave you permission to be back here!?” I’m in shock. He just kept asking me so rudely who let me back here and that he’s the GM and the only person who can give permission. I’m like okay?? My wedding is in 5 minutes if you couldn’t tell by my outfit. Just ask me to leave the space and I am fine with that. Just overall a weird experience and I would recommend looking at other similar spaces for your wedding if this sounds stressful to you.
