Chase did a wonderful job officiating our wedding, orchestrating our rehearsal, and helping us file all of the correct paperwork! He was communicative, flexible, and even provided a few samples ceremonies that really helped us in creating our own. We would highly recommend him to anyone!

He is experienced, having officiated hundreds of weddings, and calmly commands the space around him with the energy of an old friend. He worked closely with us to understand what kind of words should be spoken over our ceremony, accommodated our custom written vows, and ensured we would have absolutely nothing to worry about when it came to understanding our marriage license. He demonstrated his unique ability to preside over weddings between people and families of differing backgrounds in a way that bathes the room in unity and happiness. Brittany McClaskey from Columbus Wedding Officiants was absolutely fantastic! My Wife and I specifically wanted a non-religious officiant and we couldn't have chosen better. Brittany helped guide us through what our ceremony could look like and gave us lots of options on how to structure it. She took our suggestions and weaved them together as well as adding custom language to include a special part of the ceremony that included bourbon. Brittany even helped my wife and I review the vows we wrote ourselves. She went above and beyond.

We absolutely recommend Chase to anyone looking for a professional and thoughtful officiant for our wedding. I have been to weddings before where the officiant took way too long, pontificate about topics not related to the couple, or touch upon inappropriate topics. For our wedding, Chase took time to get to know us and how we met. He let us read sample scripts beforehand from multiple weddings that he had performed, and we were able to send back our thoughts and what we liked from those examples. He then used our feedback to write a ceremony that gave an astonishingly perfect encapsulation of our relationship and lives. And per our request, he kept it nice and short, which was much appreciated on all sides. There were no dry eyes in the audience. Everyone was raving afterwards at how great our ceremony was. Beyond the ceremony, he also made the wedding license process extremely easy and even gave great instructions for next steps around name changes. Mr. Chase Waits was the best officiant we could possibly ask for and was extremely cost efficient. He was able to work with my husband and me while we were stationed overseas in Germany due to my husband serving in the US Military. We were very happy with how everything turned out for our ceremony. Chase was very helpful, from cultivating the language of the ceremony, to which marriage documents he needed from us and what steps to follow with obtaining our marriage license. He was great walking us through the rehearsal, going over all the tiny details a couple times so we would know how to pull off the ceremony. We were concerned with finding someone who had no issues with officiating a same-sex wedding, but we had no problems with Chase! He was extremely professional in helping us to celebrate our marriage.

From start to finish, wedding planning and the big day all took place within 4.5 months. Chase reached out as soon as I found him on the Knot and let us know availability immediately. Chase made the process so easy considering we were about an 1 or more away from the him. He was willing to travel to the venue. From the beginning of the process everything fell into place. Chase provided us with information on sample ceremony vows and allowed us to piece together what we were looking for. We asked if we could even throw in how my husband and I met online during the pandemic and he was more than willing. We were open to suggestions considering we wanted something unique but also sweet and to the point. No long ceremony for us. Chase was available by email and phone whenever we had questions. Chase met with myself and my husband prior to the ceremony to go over details and then it was show time. Our ceremony lasted maybe 20 mins total and it was perfect. He also handled all of the marriage license information after the ceremony. I would highly recommend Chase and Columbus Wedding Officiants to anyone.

I am so happy I found Chase to officiate our wedding. My husband and I got married in April at The Estate New Albany. 5 weeks before our wedding Andrew tore his achilles so we were a bit apprehensive for the day since he was going to be in a boot and on crutches. We got him a scooter to use so it would be more comfortable and easy for him to roll around, but I was still nervous for how it would go! At our rehearsal, Chase took all those worries away! He was so patient, kind and extremely knowledgeable! He ran everything so smoothly and suggested we tell the staff at the estate to set the chairs wider so we had more room to go down the aisle! Everyone loved him and on the wedding day we got so many compliments about our ceremony! We kept it pretty short & sweet and Chase did an amazing job delivering it with ease.
