The food was delicious, the presentation and service were excellent, and we received many compliments from our guests about the food and bar service. Everything about working with Mac and Comparti was very smooth from the tasting all the way through to the day of the wedding. When we had issues with our transportation of guests to the afterparty, Comparti even went the extra mile to let us utilize their shuttle to transport guests. We would highly recommend Comaparti to anyone looking for a wedding caterer.

served a family style meal that was custom designed based on local favorites (short rib, trout, pasta primavera) from the Catskill Mountains where our wedding was held. Comparti went above and beyond to bring our vision to life and the care and attention they put into our menu was on full display for our guests. We got married in a barn with no kitchen and Comparti had no problem serving hot, high quality food despite having to setup all their own equipment. Our food was served family style and allowed everyone to eat as much as they wanted of what they preferred. Many guests told us how they asked for seconds and how Comparti was quick to re-supply any dish that ran low. Guests raved that they couldn’t get enough and it was the best wedding food they ever had! We even had a couple that was getting married the following month tell us that they were now convinced they wanted to change plans with their caterer and serve a family style meal based on the experience they had at our wedding. I could go on and on about how beautiful and delicious the food was and how as bride and groom we actually had a chance to eat and enjoy each bite. Comparti had servers ready with appetizers and our signature drinks immediately following the post ceremony pictures so that my husband and I could try one of everything before getting caught up with socializing. What a nice touch! Speaking of the drinks, WOW! My husband and I spent a lot of time coming up with our specialty cocktails and Comparti’s bartenders did not disappoint. Drinks were delicious and just as we planned. It’s such a fulfilling feeling to see your vision come to life and to know that your caterer is going to put as much thought and attention to all the details that you worked so hard to plan. so easy to work with and truly every email, every meeting was a joy. Planning a wedding can be really overwhelming and from the beginning, Comparti (and Melissa in particular) provided as much support and advice as we need, even on aspects beyond the catering! She really helped us put together the schedule of the day and customize every part of the experience to our needs. As I didn't have a wedding planner, feeling like Melissa was always in my corner was really welcome. I told my husband through the whole process that every time I thought Comparti couldn't be any more fantastic, they would do even something more to make our experience fantastic. I've also barely even talked about the food, and everyone there said it was one of the best meals they've ever had and definitely the best wedding food.

t our tasting, we knew him and Comparti were the perfect fit for our big day. He was detail-oriented, very professional and also friendly and easy to work with. He made sure he understood the vibe of our reception and recommended dishes he thought would complement this. He was flexible and open to recommendations and suggestions, he included my favorite dessert (tiramisu) on the menu even though it wasn’t one of the typical dishes provided! Mac helped coordinate our rental through Broadway Party Rentals, he attended our showroom visit to Broadway Party to pick out plates, silverware, etc. and made recommendations on specific items we should rent vs. skip. Catering is where most couples spend most of their wedding budget and Mac was cognizant of that - he offered affordable menu options and we never felt like we were being pushed to select more expensive menu options. Mac was also a great sounding board for other wedding decisions, like timeline of the reception, where to get menus and signage printed, what did and did not work in the space, etc. On the day-of, his staff was very professional and efficient, they transformed the space from ceremony mode to dinner mode beautifully, plus Mac himself was there! There was a plate of appetizers waiting for us in the bridal suite after our ceremony and they packed us takeaway dinner and dessert leftovers at the end of the night. So many of our guests gave us compliments on the food! It was a pleasure to work with Mac and the rest of the staff at Comparti, we highly recommend them!

we loved it all. When talking about some key menu items we wanted Joy helped us work them into the menu in a way that didn't seem like they didn't belong. Once the contract was signed and we were in the planing stages Mac helped us with understanding the run of the day and made suggestions on how to best fit out budget. The venue had a lot of vendor limitations in regards to set up and tear down but Mac worked his magic and made it work. The Comparti staff at the wedding were all so great. Professional at all times but what I liked is they genuinely looked like they like what they do. Smiles and helping out anyone with a request. The whole staff (Cook staff and front of house staff) went well beyond and really helped highlight what a great operation Comparti has. Everyone was talking about the food. Happy to say that our favorite food we have had at a wedding was at our own wedding. Perfect.

e considered. We're lucky enough to live in Fort Greene and became regulars at the restaurant, Colonia Verde, which is owned by the same group that created and runs Comparti. Every person has a different priority for their wedding and, for us, we wanted an unbelievable, foodie experience for our guests. We went with a family style meal that was truly a feast and nothing like a traditional wedding menu. We had three starters (duck confit tacos, grilled fresh salad, harvest corn) followed by three entrees (steak three ways, achiote roasted chicken, almond crusted squash) and went with an array of our favorite desserts (le pasion, tres leches and churros). People walked away saying they felt like they went to an amazing dinner party versus a wedding and that's exactly what we wanted! Lauren is the chef and she's incredibly creative and talented. Now onto the team. What you don't realize about Comparti right away is that they are a full-service team. They handle every detail from menu creation to rentals and servers. Mac leads the team and he has a very hands-on, service oriented approach thanks to his considerable prior experience in hospitality. It's a roll up your sleeves kind of team and they are great at problem solving and making sure you know everything is handled. You're lucky if you get the chance to work with this team!
