From the moment we booked Katie and Ryan, their professionalism and attention to detail made us feel confident we were in the best hands. The associates who photographed and filmed our day were beyond amazing, seamlessly blending into the event while catching every special moment. The photos are absolutely stunning, and the video left us speechless—it truly feels like reliving our perfect day all over again.

My husband and I had Katie & Ryan at Compass Studios as our wedding photographer and videographer and are so happy we did! We absolutely love our photos and video! They were so communicative and easy to work with before, during, and after the wedding. It was great having the photo/video team because they worked so well together. Photography was the most important vendor to me and I am so happy we chose Compass Studios! Highly recommend!

We loved working with Compass as the videographer for our wedding! Katie was super responsive, answering all of our questions quickly and completely. We chose Compass because they had a great package that included a cut of our ceremony and speeches, which we found surprisingly hard to find with other companies. When the original videographer we were assigned left the company for personal reasons, Katie found a backup who was fantastic. We love our highlights video, and we're so excited to show our grandparents (who could not attend) the ceremony and speeches!

I only have great things to say about the services we got from Compass Studios. The coordination and organization leading up to the event was clear and easy, and they were very accessible with any questions I had. We got the Associate & Rose Gold photo/video package with Emily as our photographer, and due to a substitution we were lucky enough to get Ryan as our videographer. I had been nervous about photo/video being too conspicuous and people being self conscious but this team is invisible!! The shots are beautiful and we all felt comfortable to be our natural candid selves during the day. Now after the wedding, my husband and I are glad we got the video too so we can relive the best day of our lives.

Katie and Ryan were an absolute JOY to work with! I am beyond obsessed with all of the footage and pictures we got and they helped us feel comfortable and at ease the entire day! We had unexpected rain on our wedding day and none of that affected the quality of our images or the joy of the day. I would HIGHLY recommend working with Compass Studios.

We found Compass Studios on our venue's preferred vendor’s list and we are so glad that we did. We reached out to Compass Studios and decided to go with the silver package and were assigned to Andrew. Andrew was so much fun to work with! He has a great sense of humor and made us immediately feel at ease. We truly enjoyed spending our wedding day with him. We received our video and raw wedding footage a few weeks later. Our video was beautiful and the raw footage was so much fun to watch. We will cherish this video forever.

Ryan and Katie are a husband wife duo for photography and videography. A few months before the wedding we decided to capture the day with a videographer. While chatting with Katie we were lucky enough to find out that Ryan was available to film our wedding day. He was very easy to work with and very much out of the way throughout everything. He had great attention to detail of his footage and ensured that all the important things were captured. It has been amazing to look back on the footage he provided. These memories are truly priceless and I can’t imagine my wedding day without them. Whether videography or photography I definitely recommend investing with them.

Working with Compass Studios was a highlight in our wedding planning experience. They were extremely professional, great with communication, and just lovely to work with. Ryan was our videographer the day of our wedding and he had such a great energy about him, was efficient, and flexible. We're not big "picture people" but we felt so comfortable and at ease thanks to his guidance and enthusiasm. The final highlight video perfectly captured so many of our favorite moments from the day. A big reason why I chose Compass Studios was because I could book a package that included raw footage from the day, which I found was not the norm. This has already come in handy, allowing us to share our first dance video with my sister-in-law who was taking care of her son and missed the live version! I highly recommend Compass Studios!

Katie and Ryan captured our wedding day perfectly. They were responsive to every email and question and gave us recommendations for other vendors (some of which we ended up using and were thrilled with!). They made me and my husband (who both can be pretty awkward in pictures), feel so comfortable behind the camera. They had our sneak peek pictures back to us the day after our wedding and sent the rest of our pictures to us a few weeks before we were expecting! They captured all of the amazing candid moments of our wedding, which was exactly what we wanted. They also did an incredible job working with the natural light outside and finding the perfect spots for all of the more "staged" photos. I could not recommend them more!

We hired Compass Studios for our videography, and I’m so happy that we did!! It’s so fun and emotional to re-live all of the special moments (including those we didn’t even notice or remember in the craziness of the day!) and to see our loved ones. We will truly cherish the footage forever. Andrew was our day-of videographer. He was a calm, professional and positive presence. He made everyone feel comfortable, and worked very well with our photographer. He managed to capture all of the important moments, like the first kiss and personal vows (the audio was super clear despite breezy weather), and also the little moments like my grandpa seeing me in my dress and our little niece dancing with her dad. The quality of his work and service is excellent!

Andrew was a wonderful addition to our wedding day! He was professional, fun, and definitely made us comfortable. We got a teaser video right away that we absolutely loved and then the full length video was incredible! We also got tons of raw footage which was such a treat. Highly recommend!

Hiring our wedding photographer and videographer was one of the most important decisions about our event and we treated it as such. Having our wedding away from our home country without all our family we knew we had to preserve the memories of the day so everyone could enjoy it with us, even if they couldn’t come celebrate with us on the day-of. We took a good amount of time to learn and speak with many providers, reviewed their contracts (this was essential to us!), learned their style and visualized them at our wedding. Wedding photography/ videography is an investment and we had to make sure we’re investing where our visions align and with a company who would capture our personalities and reflect our love for each other. Simply put, COMPASS STUDIOS IS THE BEST! We booked Compass Studios for their ultimate Photo Video Package which included a photographer for 8-hrs, a second photographer for 4-hrs and a videographer for 8-hrs. They are extremely professional and a great team which we believe is one of their biggest strengths, besides having a great eye and creative ideas. Katie and Ryan make you feel like you are family and they are seamlessly there recording the occasion, making sure no detail is left, taking every opportunity for a great shot or footage. We first met Katie for our engagement session a few months before the wedding, and it was a pretty spontaneous idea as we thought we didn’t want it at first since we’re camera shy. It ended up being a great decision because first, it was really fun – Katie was open to meet us for an early sunrise session – and second, we also got practice for the wedding, finding out what poses we liked and what we had to hone on. Our wedding was crushed by a tropical storm and despite the rain, Katie, Ryan and their associate photographer were all great sports, ready to go in the rain and to still give us the dreamy views of the vineyard. When the weather didn’t permit for a certain shot setup we originally planned for, they offered us other ideas and made sure we utilized our winery venue and its surroundings to the fullest. We have some unique pictures that others with sunny weddings don’t get and thanks to Compass Studios we wouldn’t want things differently. Now when we have our photos and videos – and they are out of this world! – we feel honored a tropical storm rained good luck to our marriage and that Compass Studios helped us realize it and appreciate the uniqueness of the day (because before your wedding happens, who wants or counts on a rainy day). Now when we had our engagement session and our wedding captured by Compass Studios, we can’t wait to continue our beautiful journey and look forward to the next session we schedule with them. We have the most amazing experience.

We had the pleasure of having Compass Studios do photo and video for our wedding weekend, and it was the most amazing experience! They went above and beyond from the beginning and were flexible with our ever changing wedding plans. We got to work with Julie, Vijay, Katie, and Ryan through our three events, and each of them were amazing to work with! They were so calm, collected, and effective during the craziness of the wedding weekend and with unexpected rain. We are obsessed with our photos and video, they really captured our wedding events so perfectly! I cannot recommend them enough!

I have edited this review several times, because each time I read it, it doesn't express enough how much we enjoyed working with Katie and Ryan (Compass Studios). So to start, I would say if you are reading this review searching for a photographer and videographer, stop looking, because you've found the team that will capture your wedding day! They are truly professionals and their experience in the wedding industry shines through in so many ways. Prior to the wedding day, Katie and Ryan were easily reached to answer our questions and discuss our vision. They day of the wedding, our timeline was tight and Katie and Ryan were so excellent with keeping the day on track. They made us feel instantly comfortable with them and in front of the camera. We also loved working with their second photographer Vijay! It was awesome to be able to have him with the guys as they got ready before the wedding. Lastly the quality of their work is fantastic. I'm so excited to get our favorite pictures framed, and so glad we have our wedding video to help us cherish the memories of our wedding day. Thank you Katie and Ryan!

We hired Katie and Ryan about 18 months out from our wedding date. I found them through Instagram, and when Katie heard where we were getting married, she agreed to talk to us because she loved our venue so much! We had a great conversation, and my then fiancé and I knew we had to hire her and her husband Ryan for photo and video. It was a huge plus for us that they were a couple, and used to working together for both photo and video. We had an engagement shoot with Katie about a year out from our wedding. She was great at directing us into poses, and we used one of the photos for our save the dates! For the day of our wedding, Katie and Ryan were on point for everything. They knew our timeline/schedule thoroughly, and were so coordinated- capturing candids and posed pictures/moments. They brought a second shooter, Jay, who was so kind when I was a bit anxious about the weather. He also captured some great flower girl shots (which can be hard to get with two very young toddlers/girls!). At one point, we had finished our couple portraits. We were relaxing for a bit before our reception began, and we learned there was a rainbow outside! We ran outside, and Katie was ready to get an AMAZING picture of us in front of the rainbow- probably one of our favorite pictures we've seen so far! Katie was so quick to send us sneak peek photos- by 1pm the day after our wedding. They were spectacular, and I can't wait to see the rest of the photos and our wedding video in a few weeks. Hire Ryan and Katie for your wedding photo/video!!

We used compass studios for videographer services. It was one of the last things we booked because we were unsure if we really needed a video of our day. But let me tell you, if you are on the fence about getting a videographer, do it! We just got our video back and oh my goodness… it is so good! Definitely brought tears to my eyes and I have already watched our video a handful of times! Pictures are one thing but seeing things and our loved ones in action is on another special level. Especially seeing how much fun everyone is having. We had Erin as our videographer the day of our wedding and she did AMAZING! She was so sweet and knew how to capture the perfect shots! And she was never in your face with the camera but also right there and got such great footage! I’m so happy we choose to get a videographer so we can relive the day over and over by watching our wedding video! We can’t wait to show our kids one day, how amazing our wedding day was! Katie (the owner of compass studios) is super responsive and answers any questions you may have! We also got our video in a little over a month after the wedding, very quick! So so so happy we choose to get a videographer and even more happy we went with Compass Studios!

We could not recommend Compass Studios enough! We hired this great team for our engagement photos, wedding photos, and wedding video. The results were incredible and worth every penny. Katie and Ryan really listened to us, offered us flexibility when the unexpected happened, and in general were a pleasure to work with. Of the many vendors we used on our day, Compass was a favorite. For couples getting married in the northern Virginia area, no need to look any further - go with Compass Studios and you will have no regrets!

Erin was our videographer and she went above and beyond to document our wedding day. We got our video back about a month after the wedding, which we really appreciated. Our friends and family love reliving the day through our beautiful video!

We had an excellent experience with Compass Studios for our wedding videography! Andrew was our videographer, and he was such a pleasant part of our day. He was kind, funny, and made being in front of the camera easy for us. We purchased the Silver package and it was exactly what we needed. We booked Compass Studios’ Photo Video Package for our October 2020, turned April 2022 wedding and we would absolutely book them again in a heartbeat! Katie and Ryan are so easy to work with, flexible, friendly, and extremely responsive. They arrived right on schedule and made us feel comfortable and at ease throughout the day. All of the photos were amazing and truly capture the day perfectly! Our video is incredible and was edited beautifully—we love reliving our big day through it. Compass delivered our photos and video ahead of schedule which was such a nice surprise. We loved being able to book both photography and videography through one vendor—it was so nice having one less thing to worry about and knowing that Katie and Ryan had it covered! They are both so talented, and we look forward to using Compass Studios again for photos in the future!

Katie & Ryan were the photographers for our wedding back in May and they did an unbelievable job at capturing our day! The weather was less than ideal that day but the pictures & video could not have turned out more beautiful. They are extremely talented and were so lovely to work with. I could not be happier with my wedding video from Compass Studios! My husband was a little on the fence about hiring a videographer since we had already spent so much on other vendors. We opted for one of the less expensive videography packages and were STUNNED by the results. Erin was a joy to work with on the day of and Katie was excellent to communicate with during the entire process. Everyone will tell you that your wedding day will go by in a blur, but I never believed it. I’m so glad I decided to hire Compass as my videographer because everyone is completely right! The wedding day was magical—and crazy! Watching our video helps me remember all of the joy and love from that day, and it’s so fun to see different moments that I missed while doing other bride things! I also love that we received the raw footage as well, so we can truly have all of our memories from our wedding forever. My husband even told me that he was so glad that I pushed to hired a videographer because the content we received back from Compass was so special. I cannot recommend Katie, Erin, and everyone at Compass studios enough! If you’re looking for a high quality and affordable videography team, look no further! I would give them a million stars if I could.

We are so happy with our decision to hire Compass Studios for our wedding in March! Katie was friendly, prompt, and easy to work with, and we enjoyed having Andrew there (but somehow invisible!) on our actual wedding day to capture important moments. I was also blown away when they delivered our videos just 3 weeks after our wedding! We've already watched them multiple times and are so happy with how they turned out. Videography was something I was on the fence about, since we'd already hired a photographer and video would be yet another wedding expense. Value-wise, Compass was the best by far. I talked to multiple local videographers and many didn't include footage of the whole day or any audio in their standard packages. Compass' artistic vision also resonated with me. It was great to watch their example videos and see how realistic yet elegant their footage is. It's high quality video & editing for a very fair price, and this is coming from someone who works in marketing & design. I'm so glad we have the toasts, special moments, and family and friends on video thanks to Andrew and the Compass team! Highly recommend them for your upcoming wedding :)

Hiring Katie and Ryan is the best decision we made when booking our wedding vendors. Their style is both modern and timeless. They made us feel extremely comfortable in front of the camera and went out of their way to capture photos that actually felt like “us.” Prior to our wedding day we had an engagement photo shoot which was a great opportunity to meet Katie and Ryan and for them to get to know us better as well. Katie and Ryan are organized, professional, but most importantly NICE! Seriously, we want to hang out with them! They delivered us 30 sneak peak photos the day after our wedding, we can’t wait to enjoy the rest in a few weeks!

Hiring Katie & Ryan (and their team) was the best decision my husband and I made for our wedding day! Our wedding was originally planned for summer 2020 but was postponed until summer 2021. They were so accommodating and responsive during the whole wedding planning process. They made sure all my questions/concerns were addressed but were not overwhelming me with communication. I didn't have to worry about anything leading up to the wedding day or on the wedding day. They arrived on time and provided the best recommendations for pictures and even brought their own supplies for those detailed shots with my wedding accessories. They were flexible and so fun to be around and interact with during our wedding day. ALL the photos they produced were incredible and the video was perfection. They even sent a sneak peak gallery which we received the day after the wedding. They made sure we were 100% happy with everything and provided instructions on how to download our photos/videos and the best way to print them. I would HIGHLY recommend them to any of my friends and we will definitely be using them in the future to capture other life moments.

Katie and Ryan made our Wedding experience completely perfect. Not only does their Photo/Video package include complimentary Engagement Photos, they really work with you to make your Wedding as special as possible! The photos & videos were absolutely stunning, delivered in a timely manner, and a great price for the area. One of the things that struck me the most is how I barely remember seeing them on the Wedding Day because they're so good at being able to discreetly capture the most important moments. I can't recommend them enough!

I cannot say enough nice things about Compass Studios. We had to reschedule twice due to COVID, and Katie was so flexible, endlessly kind, and just so easy to work and plan with. She's so personable and it always felt like I was emailing with an old friend. We had Andrew on our wedding day, and even though we had not met him before that day, he was just a perfect person to have around. He kept us at ease even though we were running a little behind, showed us his vision for certain shots, and was so fun and easy to work with. These are the kind of vendors that make you sad your wedding day is over because you want to be friends with them afterwards! I could not more highly recommend them!!

I used Compass Studios for my wedding videography, and I am 100% satisfied with them. Communication with them was clear was timely. I thought that it might feel weird having someone follow me around with a camera, but Andrew the videographer was friendly, funny and he made everyone feel comfortable behind the camera. You could really tell that he loves his job. Most importantly our video came out perfectly. It was worth the money and we were smiling the whole time watching it back. I will definitely recommend Compass Studios to my friends and family if they have a wedding.

Katie and Ryan did an absolutely AMAZING job capturing our wedding photos/video and engagement shoot. It was easily one of our best wedding vendor decisions. As a couple that does not take photographs professionally ever, Katie made it so easy and comfortable for us while providing great direction in terms of poses. One of our best wedding-related decisions was hiring Katie and Ryan as our photographer/videographer! They were both very responsive and easy to work with from start (the engagement photo session) to finish (producing a high quality wedding photo gallery and highlight video). We booked a silver video package with Andrew from Compass Studios, and it was one of the best planning decisions we made. Andrew was really chill and easy to work with, and Katie was super flexible and responsive with booking and payments. On the wedding day, Andrew showed up right on time and was totally unobtrusive. He was never in the way and you could almost forget he was there - but then he would crack a joke that would have everyone laughing! He's a cool guy - I would totally hang out and get a beer with him. Andrew got us our highlight video even earlier than we expected and it was absolutely beautiful. I think I've watched it 800 times! I can't recommend him enough!

Katie and Ryan were truly AMAZING. My fiance and I were so unbelievably impressed with both of their professionalism, attention to detail, creativeness with different photo ideas and backdrops, and fun attitude during the wedding and engagement photos! They made us both feel at ease and comfortable, despite so much going on around us during a busy day and really allowed us to enjoy and capture such special moments with ourselves, closest family, and friends. I am so very appreciate of their work and have absolutely fallen in love with the photos and videos! I had no clue it would be such a quick turn around and it was such an incredible feeling to see photos literally the next morning after our wedding. They are perfect and the bundle package was a great deal! Katie response within a day at most and listened to all of our request. We will recommend them to everyone we know (and already have ☺️)!

Compass Studios was great to work with and did a beautiful job - from our engagement and wedding photos to the amazing edited video of our special day. Katie and Ryan are amazing at their job and amazing people. They made us feel super comfortable and we barely knew they were there during the ceremony or the reception but somehow managed to capture all our special moments without behind noticed. Family and friends continue to tell us how much they loved how our photos turned out. Our highlight video was more than we could’ve ever imagined. I met Katie through a wedding I was in. Katie and Ryan were the videographer and photographer at the wedding and did an amazing job. To this day, I wish I had met them sooner. I had already hired my photographer before I had met them, but had not hired a videographer. I knew instantly, They were who I wanted! We wanted their silver package, however, due to the fact that her normal videographer for the silver package was unavailable, Katie agreed to come and do it herself. The entire day, she was nothing short of professional. Truthfully, you would not have known she was there unless someone told you she was. She was kind, patient, polite, and discreet. The footage was AMAZING. The wedding video makes you feel the love and joy that we felt on that day. She captured it beautifully. The video was not only excellent, but Katie went above and beyond for me. Due to an unknown problem, one of our arranged photographers never arrived to my husbands home before the wedding to take photos. I never knew until after the wedding. Katie however was at the boys house to get footage of he boys getting ready. In a last ditch effort to find some photographs, I emailed her asking if any of her footage could be converted to still photographs. Not only did she respond the same day, but she had high quality resolution stills included in her response. They were so good I was able to print them and frame them! You would never know they were from a video. Katie I can never thank you enough! If I could do it all over again I would have hands down hired both her and Ryan and had total peace of mind. She is the best!

Katie and Ryan captured our families, our friends, and our love in a way that left me and my husband speechless. Their attention to detail is a gift. I was completely on the fence about this purchase and now having the highlight reel and raw footage of our wedding, it's the best decision I've made. I can relive our day as much as I want with the exact emotions I felt while actually living it. Katie and Ryan are that gifted.

Ryan uses a drone for landscape scenes!). Quality of service: 5/5 Very happy with their service. The engagement photos were amazing. The pictures at the wedding were great. Responsiveness: 5/5. Unfortunately, a little slow getting the pictures back but they were very quick to check in with us often to ensure us that it will be coming which is understandable given that it was the busiest wedding season. Professionalism: 5/5 Professional. We cannot say much here. Value: 5/5 With the quality of pictures, service, and meeting all of our expectations while exceeding it. Worth every penny we paid. Flexibility: 5/5 Given my schedule as a pharmacist, I am very limited time where I am free but Katie was always willing to adjust her schedule accordingly in order to get the most beautiful pictures possible. Overall: They are the ultimate two peas in a pod wedding team that will capture your priceless event with captured moments.

Compass Studios was great to work with! Katie was very responsive and gave us recommendations for scheduling when the videographer would be there. The videographer, Andrew, was awesome! He captured all of the special moments on our wedding day and incorporated amazing artistic shots that really shined in the highlight reel. We loved that we got all the raw footage as well. We LOVED working with Katie & Ryan!! We're so happy with all of our photos and we watch our video multiple times a day :) they captured everything so perfectly. Having good photos and video were really important for us as a couple to have after our wedding. We reviewed several different vendors and finally decided on Compass Studios after reviewing their Instagram and wedding video examples on Vimeo. We really like their style. They were very responsive and professional. Their costs for photos and video were very reasonable. Overall we were provided with about 580 high quality photos, a 10 minute highlight video, 2 hours of reception video and 1 hour of video from our ceremonies. This was more than enough to document our wedding and all of its finer details. The video included drone footage that we really liked. Photos and videos were provided on time (or even few days before we expected them) per our contract and they were high quality enough for our us to create our own prints, albums and to have a rich experience sharing video with family. This studio is run by a married couple, one does photo and the other does video, we also paid for an extra second photographer to capture pre wedding photos. This worked out okay, it would have been better if a photographer stayed 100% with the bride prewedding, some better time splitting was requested and that was resolved quickly. We do suggest that if the photographer suggests changing or doing something, pay attention, they do seem to know what is more aesthetically pleasing. They suggested or asked if I’d wear my silver watch (I was wearing a gold and pink indian outfit), I decided to stick with it. It stuck out quite a bit in photos, not the end of the world, but they were right! Overall, we’d definitely recommend Compass Studios, we have a lot of great memories captured that we will be able to get back to for the rest of our lives.

This is such a wonderful company and we are so, so happy they were our videographers. They were so accommodating and pleasant when we had a few requests, and really, really listened when we chatted with them about what what most important to us to have captured. Katie is so kind and responds so quickly. Andrew was fabulous on our wedding day, and I barely noticed that he was there (which is a great thing!!) He worked really well with our photographer so he wasn't in any shots, but he still managed to capture everything so well. Katie edited the video perfectly and chose great music. We're so happy the way everything turned out and have watched our video a million times. Hire these guys!!

Katie and Ryan were absolutely amazing! They were punctual, responsive, professional, and personable. They somehow managed to capture every special moment of our wedding while barely even being noticed. Their vision for both the still images and video shots was exceptional. Their editing of the photos and wedding highlights video was truly spectacular! My wife and I are so completely happy with our decision to work with Katie and Ryan and could not recommend them more!

We got the gold package, so we worked with the head honchos Katie & Ryan. I feel like I threw a lot at them over email, but they handled everything with ease and were incredibly professional. They showed up early on the day, and stayed until the end of the night - even though we got about an hour behind schedule due to a medical emergency. I don't know that we every really talked about a vision, just specific shots. Again, they sent me a link early. What they sent me was amazing. They made it look like the dance floor was full the whole night. They were not obtrusive at all during the ceremony. There were a few times I remember looking right into Ryan's camera, but over all they were completely unnoticeable. They seemed to work very well with our photographers, who they had never met before. They gave us pure perfection. Everything I was dreaming of and so much more! Honestly, they should be charging more. The value that you are getting with these two is unbelievable!

Katie and Ryan were AMAZING!! They made the trip to our mountain wedding in May, and they perfectly captured every special moment of our day! They were so friendly and made our entire family feel so comfortable. We love the way that they organized the video in such a way that some of the song lyrics matched up with what we were doing, you can tell that they put a lot of thought into creating the video. My husband and I have already watched our wedding video a few dozen times and it never gets old! We love getting to relive our special day over and over again:)

We worked with Andrew to get a video teaser and a regular video. Andrew was so professional and did an amazing job of capturing our wedding day! I loved, loved our teaser and cannot wait to see the full-length video. Choosing Katie and Ryan to shoot our wedding was one of the best decisions that we made. First, they blew us away with a beautiful engagement photo shoot (in the scorching heat of summer!). Katie made us feel so comfortable with her composure and direction. Fast forward to our wedding, and Katie and Ryan were the perfect duo for our wedding photography and videography. We just received our photos and video and once again, my friends and family were blown away. They captured every little moment and detail - nothing missed. And the video - just WOW. I could watch it over and over again (I actually have since receiving it). It's so beautifully composed. The music, the sound bites, the filming - they went above and beyond.
