Don’t even hesitate to order your cake from Owen. The entire experience was magical, from the totally decadent cake tasting in his home, to the final product (which many of our guests raved about). Not only was our wedding cake phenomenal (with each tier being a different type of cake at no extra cost), Owen made us a complimentary ‘top tier’ cake for our one year anniversary. He also made a separate gluten free cake for our guests with allergies which was delicious as well. On top of all that, the week of our wedding he called to collect final payment and actually gave us a discount due to last minute guest cancellations, something he absolutely didn’t have to do. He is a total doll and we feel lucky to live in close proximity to him so we can order more desserts from him in the future!

My daughter’s wedding was this past weekend in Maine. Owen, the owner, couldn’t have been more delightful to work with. He created the most beautiful wedding cake for our daughter. So talented and passionate about his wedding cakes. We also had a smaller gluten free cake for my some of my guests. He was personable, creative, punctual and reasonable. By the way, delicious!! Couldn’t have been more pleased. We were beyond happy!

OMG!! We were married at the Cliff House Maine on December 28, 2019. I can honestly say that our cake was a MASTERPIECE! Owen and Jim were amazing to work with, running with our ideas and giving us a cake that exceeded our expectations. They were meeting with us, even over the holidays to make sure that everything was perfect. Our cake had multiple components and it was visually stunning and you felt like you were walking up to a piece of art as you approached it. The cake was unbelievably yummy-unlike typical wedding cakes which can be dry and fall flat on flavor. In addition, they made our cookie favors (lobster shaped of course!) and these are probably some of the best cookies I have ever had. I would highly recommmend them to anyone needing a cake for any event!! I am certain that we will use them again in the future.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! Our wedding cake was more than we could have ever imagined and it tasted SO good! The flowers were edible and everyone was so impressed with Owen's work. He was so nice to work with and we are so glad to have hired him to do our cake. Couldn't recommend enough!!!

You must see Owen’s cakes and even then, you can’t believe he has created something so beautiful and so delicious for you! His creativity and sense of style are beyond compare. We have been lucky enough to have him do both of my daughter’s weddings and can’t begin to describe what a treasure he is. Always professional with boundless enthusiasm for what he does. His creativity and dedication to using the freshest ingredients put him above any competitors. The decorations are all hand made and completely edible, though you won’t believe it when you see it! The cakes of various flavors are family recipes, and let me tell you his mom must have been one heck of a baker! Imagine pumpkin spice cake with rustic maple and cream cheese Swiss meringue filling at a September wedding. Perfection!

Owen and Jim created our wedding cake of our dreams! We gave him free rein and my goodness, we were absolutely blown away. I couldn't have dreamed of what he was going to create and how perfectly it matched our vision. The cakes tasted amazing - even days later while we finished what remained - and was a highlight of our day. The buttercream is to die for and filling flavors were fresh. He hand sculpted flowers to compliment, but not perfectly match our wedding flowers while working with my florist. We will always order cakes from Owen + Jim from now on, and cannot wait for our anniversary tier next year!

Our wedding wouldn’t have been the same without Owen and Jim! During the design process Owen listened to me, paid special attention to every detail and ultimately made my vision come to life. Our wedding cake wasn’t “just” a cake – it was a work of art. Our guests absolutely raved about it and the leftovers are in still high demand :) My husband and I both agreed after our tasting that their cakes were the best we’d ever tasted. We’re so lucky that we got to work with them – and are looking forward to cutting into our top tier on our first anniversary!

I can’t decide whether Owen’s cupcakes tasted better or looked better. They were so delicious and so beautiful! He decorated them to look like hydrangeas, which were part of my wedding flowers, and people thought they were real flowers! He is truly an artist! We were able to select several different cake and filling combinations, so there was a flavor to make everyone happy. We also had a great time doing the tasting ahead and he made suggestions for different flavor combinations. I highly recommend Owen!

Owen was truly one of our favorite vendors we had for our wedding. From the tasting (which was incredible!) to the cake Owen made for the big day, we have been so impressed with him. We gave Owen some inspiration for how we'd like the cake to look and, needless to say, he went above and beyond what we ever could've imaged. We got so many compliments on how beautiful the cake was, but just as important, how amazing it tasted. Can't wait to get another taste of it once we hit our one year anniversary!

I loved working with Owen and his husband. My best friend came with me to the tasting and we had such a fabulous time eating cake with Owen. He has so much enthusiasm and passion for what he does!!!!! We instantly felt welcomed into his home and it was a very nice experience. My fiancé couldn’t come because he is renovating our house and Owen took the time to make a to go box for my husband! Very thoughtful and helped him be part of the process. They have an amazing variety and everyone was raving about the cupcakes! We had 5 different selections and the team even special made funfetti cupcakes because they are my favorite!!!!! They are the best and I would totally suggest having Confection Art as part of your wedding day :)

I cannot say enough good things about ConfectionArt - Owen was accessible, flexible, creative, fun, and reasonably priced (especiallyy given the level of quality he produces!!). He carved our dogs out of chocolate (to be used as the flavor sign for our ice cream bar!)- they looked JUST like them, and also created 2 delicious sheet cakes to be served as well! Would absolutely recommend to any/all couples, and definitely plan to order from him again for future events!

Owen created a beautiful cake for our October wedding at The Red Barn. It matched the setting perfectly, right down to the chocolate burlap and lace. We did a 4-tier cake with 2 sheet cakes as well, and each cake/layer was a different flavor. The flavors were incredible, especially the butter cake with wild Maine blueberry filling and the unique pumpkin spice cake. We can't wait to try out anniversary tier!!

My daughter asked me to find a baker for her Maine wedding. After some research, I luckily happened upon Confection Art. Owen and Jim make a great team.Owen is a passionate decorative artist and Jim a talented baker. They provide an extensive taste testing showcasing an array of delicious flavors and combinations. They are easy to work with and responsive to your needs and preferences. Most importantly, they present you with a gorgeously decorated and delicious cake that is enjoyed by all!

You simply cannot beat Owens cakes. Not only are the yummiest cake you'll ever eat, but they are decorated to perfection. He's the only cake baker and decorator I know that makes each flower on top of the cake by hand. He even worked directly with our florist so that he could get the flower and color exactly right. Our guests thought they were real flowers! Our cake was 4 tiers and each tier being a different customized flavor. He is the sweetest vendor and incredibly talented. We feel truly lucky he was available to work with us for our wedding day. You can't get any better than Owen!

We had the pleasure of working with Owen on the cake for our September wedding. Not only was he fun and creative, but his customer service was incredible! As my husband and I were planning our wedding from separate countries, my husband had to attend the cake tasting alone, which I was hesitant about but I was trusting his judgement. Owen was so helpful, and when he heard our story, offered to hold our wedding date until I was able to come in for a tasting myself when I moved down to New England. He refused to take a deposit, even though he held our date for two and a half months until I was able to be there. His cake is absolutely delicious, and we LOVED how many customizable options there were. We loved the enthusiasm in designing a fun spin on our wedding cake. He handled everything with the utmost care (even the gluten free cake!) and our guests couldn’t stop raving about our dessert. Our cake was so delicious that we ate our saved topper on our one-month and fully intend of getting Owen to make a miniature version of our cake for our first anniversary. We were so happy with Owen, and plan on using him for many special occasions to come.

Gorgeous cakes. Wonderful customer service. We went in for one, but purchased a groom's cake as well. Owen sold us with his passion. Highly recommended.

Owen is a mad cake baker! He has all the skills you could possibly want from his flavor combinations to his intricate designs to his insane sculpting abilities! Our wedding cake was perfect, simple and elegant and sooooo tasty. So many wedding cakes don't have any flavor, but Owen's was some of the best cake I have ever had, and certainly the best wedding cake. He is super friendly and accommodating and can do pretty much anything!

Owen of Confection Art is truly an amazing artist. My husband and I were married in Kennebunkport in early August. Owen invited us to his home for a cake tasting and coffee which immediately gave him huge points! Every single flavor we tried, and every single picture of his work we saw, was incredibly impressive. He made us the most beautiful and delicious wedding cake adorned in handcrafted flowers. All of our guests raved about it! I am obsessed with our cake and am so glad to have pictures of his masterpiece. Owen is so familiar with the vendors in the area that he worked with our venue and florist, and we literally didn't have to worry about a thing. Is it possible for your cake vendor to be one 0f your favorite parts of your wedding? Owen and Jim went above and beyond to create the kind of cake that hurt to cut it was so pretty. The entire experience with them from taste testing to the actual sketch they created was so amazing. These two consistently deliver some of the most beautiful and delicious wedding cakes/cupcake designs I have ever seen. Not to mention, I couldn't love them more as people! Thank you guys for everything, and for my mom's mini cake too!

Jim and Owen, from Confection Art, make the most beautiful and delicious cakes! The cake planning was easy because Owen has such wonderfully creative ideas. The tasting was great fun and we learned so much. We were thrilled about our gorgeous cake! Everyone remarked on how beautiful it was. Our guests raved about the design of the cake, the cake flavors and the delightful buttercream frosting!! Jim and Owen left instructions how to save the top of the cake too. They were so much fun to deal with we will definitely work with them again. We highly recommend Confection Art for any special occasion!

Owen is the best! He did an incredible display of varying desserts for our wedding day and they were to die for. Completely wiped out by the end of the night. The display was so pretty, I left several display items for him to use at our venue and he worked his magic. I was so excited when I saw the display that while guests were eating their salads I jumped up to the dessert table and took one of each treat to make sure I got a little of everything! Naturally, I wanted my dessert before dinner and couldn't resist those NUBBLES! My goodness. Thank you, Owen for you hard work and time. AMAZING!

Owen is fantastic! After seeing his confections at the Nonantum's wedding show, we contacted him about our wedding and had a lovely meeting to taste the cake, which is absurdly delicious. We felt it was really important that not only did the cake look good but it actually tasted good...We ended up going with cupcakes and a beautiful cake topper. The guests were raving about the cupcakes (3 different flavors) and how clever they were- all Owen's creation. We certainly plan to order from him in the future.

Owen is an incredible artist. Our wedding cake was stunning with flowers in sugar and white chocolate. The cake was frosted buttercream and INCREDIBLE tasting. No one could believe the detail and how delicious it was. He also made a one of a kind grooms cake with the utmost care, love and detail that anyone could ask for. Owen was the best cake vendor I could have ever asked for. The cake was absolutely amazing. So detailed, so elegant and so tasty! We had a disney themed wedding and he just went wild with ideas. It was beautiful and stuck to everything we asked for. The cake was all edible and the guests loved it. He was so careful with my gluten free allergy an made me a special little cake on the side. It was just perfect

Owen did our anniversary cake, cupcakes, and mini desserts- whoopie pies, cake truffles. The dessert table was such a hit that I didn't even get to try any mini desserts because they were all gone. Our cake was delicious.. I honestly wasn't sure what the cupcake tower was going to look like until I saw it but it was beautiful. Thanks Owen!

Our wedding cake was exactly as we had requested but more beautiful than we could have imagined. Owen did such an amazing job! I love that the recipes they use are from his family. Also, I believe the cake I had shown him a picture of to give him an idea of what I wanted was covered in fondant. When Owen said he would do ours in buttercream I was nervous it wouldn't come out as smooth, but excited because fondant is not good. However, our guests could not believe there was not any fondant on the cake. It was so beautiful and intricate! Even though a month has passed since our wedding, we are still getting compliments on how people thought the cake was delicious. I highly recommend Confection Art!

Owen created a delicious and gorgeous wedding cake. We first met Owen and Jim at the Nonantum's wedding show. We were immediately impressed with their samples of cake and visual displays. I contacted Owen shortly after and we set up a consultation to book the last available time slot for our wedding. We had a great meeting with Owen at his home. He prepared several flavor samples and had work samples available. We talked about our wedding theme, colors, and wishes for our wedding cake. The cake ended up turning out perfectly. Owen incorporated our theme, colors, and an anchor to represent our love of ships. He also made us a small gluten free cake to accommodate our guests with gluten allergies. All of the layers tasted amazing. My parents wrapped the top layer according to Owen's tried and true instructions, and we are looking forward to enjoying it on our one-year anniversary. We will definitely be using them again, and highly recommend them!

Owen is a true artist. The things he can do with cake, frosting, and chocolate are amazing. His recipes are from scratch and passed down from generation to generation. He is very talented and caring. He treats you like family not like a customer. He listens to your ideas and gives his own to help make your vision a reality. Our cake was almost too beautiful to eat. All of my guests we're raving about how delicious the cake was and they all want his contact information. He is a little pricey but I can guarantee that he is worth every penny.

Owen was absolutely great to work with. He knows brides are on a budget and still want a great cake. I wish I could post a picture of my cake on here. My cake was 3 different flavors. Had hand molded chocolate flowers and sea creations on it. Also instead of using ribbon, he uses rolled out chocolate, so you can cut through it. Everything was delicious and everyone loved our cake. So happy we chose his company for our wedding cake.

There cake was AMAING! They made it just how I wanted and it was all edible, even the flowers! I would totally refer them to everyone!!!!

We did a cupcake tower wedding cake. We had four different cupcake flavors and they were equally to die for. All of our guests made comments about how creative the cupcake tower was. They were all so pleased they could choose their flavor and even take some home with them too! I also did a groomscake for my husband. Owen created a golfball cake for my husband. He was so surprised!!!

My cake far exceeded my expectations!!! It was beautiful and delicious!! I don't know that anyone else could have captured the picture in my head better than Owen and Jim!!! They are truly amazing and have definitely mastered their art!!!

The cake tasting with Owen was my favorite thing from my whole wedding planning experience. Their flavors were all incredible, we ended up picking 3 different flavors for each tier because we couldn't narrow it down to one. It was absolutely gorgeous, affordable and the best part in my opinion - they don't use fondant!!! All our guests kept telling us it was the best wedding cake they'd ever tasted and I happen to agree!
