Confectionery Designs

ne. They took our vision and brought it to life with very little prompting, creating the most visually stunning cake we had ever seen. And the taste was nothing short of amazing. Plus we had CD create donuts for our guests to enjoy and it was one of the best decisions we made all weekend. Guests RAVED about the donuts for weeks on end, and we couldn’t agree more. We couldn’t recommend Mark and Marie enough - easiest decision!

hours just chatting and laughing! Marie is so sweet and has amazing communication throughout the entire process. Mark was so amazing at listening to what we envisioned for our cake and making the design come to life - taking into consideration my gown, the florals, the venue and our wedding crest to create a masterpiece of a wedding cake. And the flavors and deliciousness!!! Not only do they create gorgeous cakes and desserts but they taste amazing too. My husband and I have very different tastes when it comes to desserts and they were able to work with us to create an array of flavors through out our cake. Leading up to the wedding I was getting nervous that I may have ordered too many of the mini desserts but they all went! We even put little mini to go boxes in the dessert room for our guests to take some home to enjoy. Do not skip out on having a beautiful wedding cake and definitely go with Confectionery Designs for all your cake and dessert needs. Every time we told one of our vendors that we were working with them their faces would light up! Their professionalism, experience and creativity in the Newport wedding space is truly unmatched. Thank you so much Mark and Marie for making our cake so special and perfect… can’t wait for our year anniversary to have it again!

And then the cake was even more beautiful than we could have ever imagined. Stunning. We had three different flavors and each one was spectacular. Truly, don’t think twice. I am someone who has a hard time making decisions, and this was the easiest and best one one we made. Thank you, thank you Marie and Mark! Most sincerely, Harriet and Michael

ve a cake looking like a lighthouse! Mark worked with us on the design and helped us determine the flavors (with French macarons!) To say the cake was a showpiece AND delicious would be an understatement. Our desserts were AMAZING!

ked cake with some fruit decorations, and the team went above and beyond: not only adding an incredible array of fruits, but also fresh flowers. It was something out of a Dutch master painting. To top it all off, the cake tasted fantastic — moist, light, fruity. The team is kind, responsive, and lovely to work with. We had so much fun at our tasting, and in all correspondence, we felt heard and valued. Thank you so much!

ake was a dream come true. We highly recommend hiring them for your event.

el of skill with attention to detail. They studied every detail in our cake blueprint and brought our vision to life. The guests and the entire vendor team were over the top impressed by their work of art. It was timeless, elegant and never before done. They truly can create any vision. The details were to die for but the tasting was even more to die for. The cake needed to taste as delicious as it displayed. They exceeded those expectations even with gluten sensitivity. They worked with our specific dietary restrictions. Confectionary Designs provided the highest level of professional service from the initial consultation to the end product. Very responsive and organized. We look forward to working together on our next creative cake proposal.

ad dreamed of it looking. I'm still in shock that the sugar flowers were not real flowers!! But, most importantly for us, they made everything safe for my now husband who has deadly food allergies -- safe desserts for him are something he/bakeries can never be sure about, but this was the first wedding cake he (and our other guests with allergies) could safely eat and enjoy! This was by far the part of our reception that he was most excited about and we are counting down the days until we defrost the top for our one year anniversary. Thank you so much Mark & Marie for giving us the most gorgeous cake!!!

landed upon were huge hits at our wedding. Beyond her baking, Marie was truly such a joy to work with. She was so thoughtful and personable every step of the way, and during a busy and stressful time, allowed for a sense of ease and comfort while working on our cake. I can't recommend her enough!

We choose the mini donuts, seasonal cheesecake, seasonal fruit pie, chocolate Pot de Crème, lemon meringue tartlets, tiramisu, and French macaroons. They were all as delicious as I had remembered! Marie’s guidance on quantity was spot on and they made a gorgeous presentation. I recommend Confectionery Designs highly!

ork with. Marie was always very responsive when we had questions or wanted advice and ideas. Mark is extremely talented and the sugared flowers for our cake looked like real flowers and were simply amazing. We met the two of them when we went for our tasting and they were both so warm and friendly. They were very accommodating in creating everything exactly how we envisioned. Not only did everything look beautiful but it was all so delicious! We had 2 different flavors for our cake which were done in different tiers, 5 different types of desserts, and little blueberry tarts for our favors. They even boxed all the favors for us and attached all our tags! We are truly grateful to Mark and Marie and highly recommend them!

flowers are show-stopping and are definitely worth the splurge! Better yet, the cakes are as delicious as they look. Our guests loved our wedding cake and dessert table so much that some even went back for more than seconds! The buttercream icing on top: Marie and Mark are the loveliest couple and were an absolute pleasure to work with. Their love and warmth are reflected through their work. Listening to clients' wishes, Mark creatively designs and suggests flavor options, while Marie is super responsive and on top of the business end. Together, they are a dream team you can place your full faith and trust in. So what are you waiting for? Lock them down immediately!

ofessionals and every single thing they made for us that day was truly exquisite. The cake was everything we dreamt about, but more importantly, the flavors were insanely delicious. It wasn't just a good-looking cake. In addition to the cake, Mark and Marie at Confectionary Designs also made an assortment of truly special fall desserts and even followed a few family recipes for an added custom touch. I would highly recommend them for any event. They're great people and they sure know how to make delicious sweets!

a meaningful dessert to create from my moms home country of Peru. Now for the wedding cake…. Wow. Just wow. No words could expressive how incredible every aspect of this cake. It’s common that sometime you get a beautiful cake that doesn’t taste very good at weddings or vice versa but our wedding cake was definitely the best of both worlds. The flavors were sooo decadent and delicious and the look of the overall cake was breathtaking. Marks sugar work is OUT OF THIS WORLD. They are truly capable of anything. Such a joy to work with professionally and personally. You two will always hold a special place in our hearts. Thank you so much!

re really helped my husband and I guide our vision when deciding on design and flavors. We highly recommend Confectionary Designs as they are true experts in this field, responsive, kind, and detail-oriented.

onery Designs' cake tasing included samples of several cakes and icings/fillings. We knew then that any cake Confectionery Designs made would be excellent. Our daughter and now son-in-law live in England, so they communicated with Marie Soliday remotely - significantly relying on the expertise of Marie and her husband, renown baking and pastry chef Mark Soliday. The result was not only a spectacularly beautiful cake, but probably the most delicious cake that we have ever eaten. Guests raved about how delicious the cake was. We are so grateful and heartily recommend Confectionery Designs in Rehoboth, MA to anyone seeking a truly artistic and delicious cake for any occasion. It is a joy to work with Maria Soliday.

o pull off a stunning painted tier very much in the style of Chinese paintings. The cake itself was incredibly tasty and tailored in flavor to what we wanted, and used fairly creative combinations of flavors. Also, I’ve never seen such realistic sugar flowers in my life; it seems like magic to me how they do it. Marie was very easy to work with and incredibly flexible and inviting in our communications. Overall, highly recommend.

elpful, and made our wedding cake more perfect than we could have imagined! Our guests were personally coming up to us after having the cake and desserts with endless compliments. We can’t recommend them enough. They created the most beautiful, unique and insanely delicious wedding cake and desserts for our special day. Thank you Confectionery, you’re the best ever!

as well as elements from my dress. Our guests are still talking about the beautiful handmade sugar flowers! Thank you so much Marie and Mark!!!

ake things home in doggy bags (we were not complaining). After countless email exchanges that they responded to impressively fast, Marie and Mark helped us design and perfectly execute the cake of our dreams for our wedding day, as well as a multitude of smaller desserts that were all crowd pleasers. On top of being very talented, this is a small, family run business that truly cares about its clients and wants to see their products shine at weddings. Could not recommend them enough. We wish we lived closer to their baker so we could enjoy their donuts on a regular basis, they are truly the best donuts we have ever had (and many of our guests wedding guests agree!) It was such a joy to work with Confectionery Designs, and we will be customers for life.

n with Marc was so much fun. He designed the cake based on my wedding dress and built it around the gorgeous ceramic Monique Lhuillier cake topper I bought before we even started thinking about our cake designs. We also came up with our own cake flavor and it was absolutely delicious. Marie was so lovely to work with. Not only was our cake amazing but all of the desserts at our cake table were. I'm so glad our wedding planner saved a box for us to take back with us so we could enjoy our treats! All of our guests raved about the cake. Blush was one of our wedding colors were blush and I had the sweetest surprise when we cut into our cake and the layer of raspberry filing was a pretty pink!

.. we couldn’t have asked for anything better on our wedding day. Our wedding cake was absolutely gorgeous and delicious, guests are still raving over our cake days later! Thank you Marie and family, thank you will never be enough!

it all changed with my own wedding cake and the extraordinary work—both in design and in deliciousness—from Mark & Marie. My wedding planner was insistent we go with Confectionery Designs. She kept telling me: “They’re the best of the best and you want the best. Trust me on this one.” So we moved forward with hiring Confectionery without having tried any of their food. Their stunning designs and deep creativity—all researched through IG—were enough to sell me. At the least, I knew our cake would be so beautiful. But holy moly, I had no idea that it would be one of our best wedding decisions ever. Mark and Marie are truly the most delightful humans on the planet. They lead with kindness, openness. We wanted a design that was…complex…to say the least. We had a cake covered in hundreds—likely thousands—of sugar hydrangea leaves. On top of that, the cake had secret love notes from my husband and me in it, which we quietly read to each other at the wedding. Mark and Marie jumped on board the plan and gave it their all. It was a cake unlike anything we had ever seen before. It was a masterpiece! It was what my mother was most excited to see at the whole wedding. So after seeing it, here I thought, okay, well it’s beyond gorgeous. That’s the best gift ever! Who cares what it tastes like?! Then the first guest went into our dessert room, with sugar cookies, mini donuts, macarons, cheesecakes, key lime pies and beyond. She ran up to me with a plate full of sweets and told me it was the best dessert of her life. Then a second guest came up to me. Then a third, a fourth, a fifth. All were rave reviews. People were asking our wonderful caterers to bring them to-go boxes, so that they could eat their dessert the next day. I literally saw my grandfather leave with a cup full of canolis. Never had I ever heard of anyone loving wedding dessert so much. It was such an unexpected and pure joy! Then, I ate some leftover cake the next day and my mind was blown. I totally understood. It was the best cake I’ve ever eaten in my life. How could something so gorgeous just also be so delicious? Well that’s because of Mark & Marie. They can do anything. They are extraordinary and worth every single penny. Although I’m from out of state—and even out of country—I know I will be back to get more of their desserts. My planner was right: They are the best in every way.

was so accommodating and made sure that we had everything we loved while also pleasing our guests. Next, the presentation of our desserts and cake was tremendous! You can tell that they spent so much time ensuring that they were perfect! We are now almost one month married and our guests are still talking about our desserts. PLEASE do yourself a favor and hire confectionery designs - they made planning easy and everything was beyond amazing. Thank you so much to you and your wonderful team! I can't wait to hire you for my next event!

with for what ended up to be over a 2 year process. The cake was beyond delicious and perfectly designed, and the mini donuts we had at our after party were the biggest hit. If you're looking for a stunning wedding cake, delicious desserts, and an amazing partner for your wedding weekend, look no further!

asy experience. Everything from the correspondence to the tasting was easy. The final product was even better than I had hoped for. The cake was gorgeous and delicious. After the wedding, multiple guests remarked how good the cake was. I would definitely recommend hiring Confectionery Designs for your cake!
