We hired Confections to bake the cake for my daughter's wedding. When we first met Jim, we knew we were in the right place! His attention to detail is the second to none. In our...
meeting, he gave my daughter many ideas for designs and flavor combinations. Jim is not only talented, but he is kind. That, in itself, needs to be rewarded.
When we arrived at the reception venue, we saw the cake. It was beautiful! Most important, it was delicious too! The cake was the hit of the wedding.
Do not hesitate to hire Jim Kennedy at Confections. He is the best!

Jim Kennedy was one of the top experiences of our wedding!
First, going to his bakery to try the desserts. His bakery has such a warm, inviting feel to it. He presented us with m...
ultiple cake samples to try, an album of pictures to look through, and several sample cakes to see tiers and designs we could choose from. He also helped us create the perfect set of side desserts to compliment the cake.
We got the lemon raspberry cake, which is by far the most popular. Trust me, you will not go wrong with this choice! He even surprised us by making us two cupcakes (which we ate on our honeymoon!) and we were able to save the top of our cake for our one-year anniversary.
Jim beautifully styled the cake and delicately laid flowers that our florist supplied around the cake for the perfect setting. Rates are extremely competitive and great customer service. He was on time with cake and dessert delivery. We can’t wait to have our anniversary cake, and to visit his shop again for some more desserts.
Highly recommended this incredibly talented baker!!
Confections made the cake for our wedding on August 31st. I can’t even begin to explain how absolutely perfect, stunning, elegant and delicious our cake was. There was not one thin...
g we would have changed. We had the lemon raspberry with buttercream. The best cake either of us have ever had, and we’re both big foodies. This is where you want to go if you want to knock the socks off of your guests. Simply the best. Thank you, Jim for helping make our day so perfect!

r ten years and I never waivered in my choice of this cake for my wedding. If necessary, I would give up chocolate for this cake!
We just got married this past Saturday (10/7/17) at OceanCliff and HAD to rave on every wedding site about our cake - it was absolutely incredible!! Jim was fantastic and made our ...
cake exactly how we envisioned. We first tried the delicious chocolate ganache seashell cake at a bridal show/tasting event at OceanCliff earlier this year and we knew that this was the bakery we had to go with! Go no further than Confections for your wedding dessert!!
Jim made cupcakes for our wedding reception earlier this month, along with a small cake for cutting. We went with the lemon raspberry, which was absolutely delicious. For the cupca...
kes, we also had carrot cake and chocolate with a coffee milk filling. So good! Jim is the best - so great to work with. Highly recommend!
Jim created a stunning and delicious cake for our wedding. Everyone stopped to stare and couldn't get enough cake!
We met Jim and his company Kennedy Confections during our food tasting. He had a table set up and was passing out samples for all of the attendees to try. The second we tried Jim’s...
lemon raspberry cake with buttercream frosting, we knew we wanted that cake for our wedding. Not only was it the best wedding cake I have every tasted, it might be one of the best cakes in general I have ever had. I lost count of how many times our guests came up to us towards the end of the night exclaiming that it was the best wedding cake they have ever tasted. Jim is truly a master of his craft. The one thing we really wanted for our wedding cake was to have buttercream frosting instead of fondant. Because our venue was an outside tented venue (Regatta Place, Newport Rhode Island) every other cake vendor we spoke to, except for Jim and Kennedy Confections, said it couldn’t be done due to the outside elements. When we spoke with Jim he said it wouldn’t be a problem, and he was 100% right. I will order that cake again every year for our anniversary. The cake Jim made was to our exact specifications. It was truly a pleasure working with him. Anyone looking to have not only a beautiful looking cake for their wedding, but a truly delicious one, schedule a meeting with Jim at Kennedy Confections. You will not be disappointed.
James Kennedy is the BEST! At our tasting we had the hardest time choosing between flavors because they were all wonderful! We ended up picking the Lemon Raspberry with Buttercream...
- It was amazing!!! - and this coming from a "chocolate" girl.
Jim is so friendly, talented, and easy to work with! Our three-tier cake was absolutely beautiful! He did an awesome job bringing my vision to life. His pricing is extremely reasonable and he's very reliable. Confections was the best choice for our Newport wedding. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
James Kennedy is truly a master baker. Our wedding cake was one of the most delicious and beautiful cakes I have ever seen. My husband and I were married at Regatta Place in Newpor...
t RI, and when we went to our tasting event, we were able to try samples of James Kennedy's cakes. We had already booked another baker, but they were so good I decided to cancel and go with him instead. I was so glad I did too! I received many compliments from guests saying it was the best wedding cake they had ever had. We got the lemon raspberry and chocolate grand marnier ganache flavors. Thank you for a beautiful and delicious cake!

ed when I saw our cake, it was simply the more beautiful than I could have imagined. Oh, and of course, it was delicious!
Jim is known for his beautiful sugar flowers. They definitely look real. The cake itself was decadent (chocolate ganache). The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is tha...
t the cake came with orange ribbon when I had requested navy. But honestly, the orange went with the sugar flowers and nobody knew the difference.
Jim Kennedy made a cake for my wedding that tasted delicious and looked absolutely beautiful! During our consult there were several cakes on display to see. There were things about...
each one that I loved, and Jim was able to take a little bit of each, combined with some other ideas and sketched a cake that was exactly what I wanted. The finished product was exactly what I envisioned. I just LOVED LOVED LOVED my cake when I saw it in person! It went perfect with the rest of my décor at the wedding. I was also torn between two flavors and Jim suggested that I could do both. He made the wedding cake out of carrot and the remainder to cut and serve a chocolate ganache, that way my husband and I could each have our favorites. I can’t wait to cut into that top on our anniversary! Jim is extremely talented and I would highly recommend Confections for any bride.
so yummy we had lemon rasberry yumm
We had tried two other vendors prior to someone recommending Confections. We hated their cakes. We wanted a lemon cake with raspberry filling - and it happens to be Jim's specialty...
. My husband and I had a tasting with him, and were sold right away. My husband likes sweets and said it was the BEST cake he had ever tried. We weren't married to any particular design or theme, so we called Jim about a week before with our final guest count and the order placed by the florist for our wedding flowers. We kept the cake very simple - fondant with beading and sugar flowers - and it was gorgeous. I had my bouquet on the cake table during dinner and it was hard to tell the difference between his sugar flowers and the real deal. Pricing was very reasonable given that he does many Newport weddings and is in high demand. Our guests absolutely raved about how delicious the cake was. We've already recommended him to friends getting married this year.
Another review calls Jim Kennedy and artist, and I can't agree more! He did a charming, intricate cake for my parents anniversary, so he was an easy pick for my wedding. Blossoms, ...
branches, even birds covered the cake and the inside tasted just as good at the outside looked! Jim himself is so accommodating and he really wants to create something beautiful just for you. I recommend checking out his website for a look at some of his incredible cakes.
