My husband and I recently got married and went with Confections of a Cake for our wedding cake ! Ann and her team were so helpful during this process. From the cake tasting to bringing our vision for our wedding cake to life. We received so many compliments on how amazing our cake looked and tasted! We got married this past March. We found out about Confections of a Cake through the Richmond Wedding Expo and set up a tasting. Let me tell you that our experience was absolutely seamless from start to finish. Ann was amazing to work with and so knowledgable. She was able to take our vision and make it come to life. Leading up to the wedding Ann made sure to check in with us and finalize any last minute questions or concerns that we had. On the wedding day they did an amazing job with setup and they even made sure to put aside some cupcakes for us (Bride and Groom) to make sure we got to enjoy some that evening. We have received so many compliments on our cake and cupcakes. They were so tasty! I would absolutely recommend Confections of a Cake to any couple looking for the best most beautiful cake for their big day!

Confections of a Cake was so wonderful, and I enjoyed working with a small business that was local for us. We had a great 1 on 1 session to talk about cake design and flavors. Everything was so well done, and I have never had a better tasting cake. We were offered so many options, and Ann was amazing about any small detail. You could genuinely tell the ingredients for these cakes were either homemade or were considered carefully. One of my favorite things about Confections of a Cake is that they will make couples a cake for their one year anniversary. I am looking forward to tasting our wedding cake again, and I will gladly order more cakes from them in the future.

I love cake. Ive eaten a lot in 40 years. But Ive never had a true wedding cake. Until our wedding I didnt know there was a difference. Ive had good cakes at weddings, and good cakes from bakers. Apparently Ive never eaten a cake from a wedding cake maker. Annnnnnnddd hoooooboy theres a difference. A BIG one. Ann showed us that difference. Amazing. From the meetings to plan the cake at the tastings, to the service she showed in making sure everything went well, to the commitment to making us another one next year on our anniversary as part of the price, Confections of a Cake is HANDS DOWN the cake maker you want for your wedding. Hell, it's worth it to fake a wedding jsut to get one of her cakes. Im serious. Try it, then tell me Im wrong :)

Wonderful team to work with, great communication and response time. We got exactly what we wanted & I received many compliments on our cupcakes!

We enjoyed working with Ann. Our tasting was very thorough and she answered any questions we had. She was also able to show us demonstrations (in person and a digital picture) of how our cake would look. She captured our vision perfectly. She made us a bourbon brown sugar cake with bourbon cream cheese and a red velvet cake with raspberry filling. If I could do it again, I would opt out of the raspberry filling, it made the cake taste more fruity than velvety...like fruity pebbles. Either way, both cakes were delicious and our guests enjoyed it.

Delicious cake, big selection of flavors, fun tasting appointment, talented artist, icing filled cupcakes, beautiful presentation, detail oriented, vast experience, the list could go on! Working with Confections of a Cake was an absolute joy. The flavors of cake and icing available are just incredible, it is so hard to narrow down the selection. I personally wanted a minimalist style cake but Ann (and her team) are so talented that they can absolutely make any intricate and elaborate cake you can dream up. They’ll send you a rendering of your design to sign off on before finalizing it all. Allergies, cake structure, icing in humidity, and any other details sometimes forgotten are reviewed during the tasting and Ann really takes the time to make sure all I’s are dotted & t’s crossed when it comes to your cake. Included in the wedding cake package is a 1-year anniversary cake freshly baked for you & yours to enjoy so that you don’t have to worry about freezing the top tier or pretend like 1-year old cake still tastes good! I strongly recommend working with Confections of a Cake. You will be so happy with the results and you will get to taste some of the best cake out there!

I do not know where to begin. The cake was amazing and we got so many compliments. The owner is not only the sweetest but she definitely listened to everything that we wanted for our special day!! We would recommend her to anyone!!

Ann was so kind and helpful throughout the whole planning process. She helped make our plans of a simplistic, rustic cake come to life. She creates some very unique flavors that our guests loved and we look forward to working with her again for our anniversary cake!

BOOK HER FOR YOUR WEDDING!!!! Ann is so sweet and makes absolutely amazing cakes! She is quick to respond back for any questions you may have or if you need to change your order. She even makes you and the groom your own box of cupcakes so you get to enjoy every flavor! Every single cupcake we had at our wedding was delicious and so was our cake! We had almost nothing left over because everyone ate it all up! You won’t regret having Ann as a part of your special day! Thank you so much for making our day and cake dreams perfect!!!

Our wedding cake turned out SO GREAT! The taste, texture, and design of the cake were spot on. We got two flavors – tiramisu and pineapple rum cake with cream cheese icing and they were SOOO GOOD! Cake was moist, flavors were irresistible once you took a bite, and Ann did not skimp on the buttercream 😊 Ann is incredibly professional and leaves no detail undiscussed. She set up an appointment with us to do a tasting as well as go over the design of the cake and logistics. My husband and I wasn’t thinking much about the design or flavors and she patiently gave us plenty of ideas to start from. We were able to design the cake we wanted because of her! I absolutely love wedding cake and it is one of my favorite parts of a wedding, whereas my husband does NOT like wedding cake – I can tell you he loved our cake so much that he was eating our leftover wedding for up to two weeks after our wedding (I was too bc who doesn’t want cake?!)!

We met with Ann for our consult and she was wonderful. She was responsive and interested in our ideas in how to make perfect cake we wanted for our wedding, and confirmed any allergies. My husband and I knew that day we had found the perfect people to make our cake and booked immediately. We exchanged emails the next few weeks and the replies were always quick. We made a few edits to the original 3 designs Ann and Norma drew up for us, and it went without a hitch. We opted for 3 layers with each layer being a different flavor & filling. The day of our wedding, they dropped off and set up the cake perfectly and we didn’t worry about a thing. Our guests loved the cake and we barely had any leftovers once the night was through. We went with lemon cake & lemon curd, carrot cake & cream cheese filling, and rum cake & cookie butter filling for our flavors and each one was soooo delicious. We can’t wait for our anniversary cake with them!

Ann was absolutely amazing to work with! She’s so personable and creative. Trusting her to create our dream cake for our wedding was the best and easiest decision we made in our wedding planning process. Our guest loved the cake so much there was no leftovers lol. She even made sure that we got an anniversary cake for our 1 year. I highly recommend adding her to your vendors list for your special day.

Ann made the cake and cupcakes for my sisters wedding and they were amazing. So, of course we used her again to make the cake and cupcakes for my wedding. The cake/cupcakes were so moist and flavorful. The icing was perfectly sweet and light. The cake was beautifully decorated and exactly what I was hoping for. You’d never look back and say you wish you had a better cake, this much I promise you!

Confections of a Cake made us 3 separate cakes, with a total of 4 flavors, for our wedding reception. During our tasting, we couldn’t decide on just one because all of the samples were delicious! Ann was so helpful, open to our design changes throughout our engagement, and made sure everything was exactly what we envisioned! The Swiss meringue buttercream was perfect for us, and the variety of flavors gave all of our guests something to enjoy. We ended up having leftover cake to save to celebrate our next milestones in our upcoming journey as husband and wife! We look forward to working with Confections of a Cake again!

Confections of a Cake was the most perfect vendor we could have asked for. With the stress of the wedding, Ann (the owner) made sure that this part was the easiest and best part of the wedding planning. I can't rave enough about how beautiful the cake was and helpful Ann was- so professional and friendly. Highly recommend! You will be blown away by her cakes and service.

The cake tasted amazing, and was such at hit. There was actually none left over, which was a bit shocking. lol

Ann was amazing to work with! She was very personable and quick with responses. Not only was she great to work with, but her cake was SO delicious! We loved that she offered a variety of flavors, and LOVED the brown butter and cookie butter flavors! I absolutely recommend getting a wedding cake from her, I wouldn’t have gone with anyone else!

Our cake was amazing!!! We did each layer a different flavor and it was not too sweet and so light! Perfect for a summer wedding! I’m not a person of sweets and LOVED this cake. It also turned out beautiful

Ann is incredible. She is spunky, personable, honest and her cakes are absolutely delicious! She is super easy to work with and cares about her clients. We ordered a carrot cake cutting cake and assorted cupcakes (chocolate, caramel and cookie butter). She holds her cakes to such a high standard that she makes you a cake top for your first anniversary because she refuses to allow her clients to freeze her cake and take the chance it loses its deliciousness! I would recommend just her personality and thoughtfulness alone, her cakes are just the icing on top!

Ann was a pleasure to work with. Not only did she travel to us for our cake tasting but she also brought 3 mini cakes for us to keep. We ordered a 4 tier cake with 4 different flavors plus 100 cupcakes. Her cakes are delicious!! Our wedding guests are still raving about how much they loved the cake and how beautiful it was! Ann has a waterfall cakestand that is absolutely beautiful! Our cake was surrounded by our cupcakes. While the cake was delicious, the presentation was really the “icing on the cake”. We loved that we didn’t have to save and freeze the top tier of our cake because Ann will makes a fresh cake of your choice for your first anniversary!

Ann Tilley and Confections of a Cake did a fabulous job with our wedding cake and cake pops! We first met Ann at the Wedding Expo in Richmond, VA. We had been looking for someone who would make cake pops, which was actually hard to find. My husband fell in love with their key lime flavored cake, which is made with real key limes from Florida. Ann was so patient in helping us create our display. We had 200 vanilla cake pops alternating navy and silver covering and a small 6in round key lime white cake with navy calla lilies on top and beading around the base. I think she went above and beyond by ordering a cake pop stand from etsy for us to use at the wedding. Everything turned out wonderful and was incredibly delicious!

Unbelievably tasty and reasonably priced! Ann was so easy to work with and was able to give us a lot of ideas/inputs that resulted in an amazing cake pop/ cake display at our wedding. I can't believe we have to wait a year to eat the rest of our cake, one slice just wasn't enough!
