Nicci was fantastic to work with. We hired her on short notice for cupcakes and cakes that needed to reach two different destinations on two different days, and she nailed the timing both times. Flexible, communicative, and completely reliable, which matters a lot when you’re coordinating from out of town.
We didn’t get to taste anything until we arrived, given how tight the timeline was, so there was some nervousness going in. That disappeared fast. The cake and cupcakes were genuinely some of the best we’ve had.
If I’m back in San Diego or coordinating another event in the area, Nicci is my go-to. Highly recommend Confectious Pastry Shop.

s a gluten free lemon blueberry cake and the groom cake was german chocolate. Not only is Nicci an absolute DREAM to work with, but she makes EXCEPTIONAL cakes! I also felt her prices were extremely fair (maybe even a little lower than they should be 👀) She delivered our cakes the day of and they arrived flawless and beautiful. She also provided instructions on how to keep them at their best until dessert time! Here I am a year later on my anniversary writing this review because we also saved the top tier of our wedding cake to eat today and y’all… it tasted the EXACT SAME as it did on our wedding day even after sitting in the freezer for a YEAR! If you’re thinking about going with Nicci for your desserts on your big day, just do yourself a favor and BOOK HER!

The cake design was nothing short of amazing. She listened to our vision and worked with us to carve out a special spot for a figurine of our beloved dog, adding a personal touch that meant the world to us. We highly recommend Nicci and her incredibly delicious cake to anyone!!

Unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience working with Confectious Pastry Shop. When my husband and I initially did the tasting, everything was delicious and we loved the fl...
avors. We were looking forward to working with Nicci. However, the actual cake on the wedding day was a huge let-down. It was super crumbly and dry and seriously lacked flavor. The cake barely had any berry compote. We also asked for two fondant corgis, but we received figurines ordered off Amazon that looked like cats. Looked nothing like our dogs. We even sent multiple pictures to her beforehand for reference. Nicci was kind enough to refund the fondant corgis. However, the owner really lacked attention to details, and the experience could’ve been better. Definitely not the cake that we expected. Not worth $500.

erve filling and chocolate cake; the samples were delicious. The sampling did not include a tasting of the buttercream icings to be used on the cakes. Unfortunately, the cakes Nicci baked for the wedding were extremely dry, crumbly, and had no flavor. There was limited raspberry preserve in the bride’s cake. The icing on both cakes was very hard and tasteless. These cakes were the only desserts served at the wedding and were a huge disappointment. The cakes were visually appealing, but the taste was lacking. The wedding guests agreed with our assessment, and we had plenty of cake left over.

First off, Nicci is wonderful and so sweet. We really enjoyed our cake tasting, it was a really special experience for my husband and I. We were a little disappointed on wedding da...
y though because the cake was dry and a little crispy, our guests were confused by the flavor. It wasn’t bad, it just didn’t taste like the vanilla berry cake we had chosen, it tasted more like graham crackers because of the crispy edges. I also was a little disappointed with the design. I wanted a vintage style cake with these inspiration pictures, but the second picture is the cake we received. Again, it didn’t look bad, but it’s just not what I expected and the piping looked a little rushed. Nicci is wonderful and followed up with grace and was generally accommodating to changes in cake design. I had a good experience working with her, but was just disappointed with the final result.
